I don't know about the song, I just felt like it matched the ending if the chapter! And speaking of the chapter, it will be long.

Shadow's POV

"*Snore* Mmm... *Snore* Ugg... Shadow?" I hear the groggy voice say behind me.

"We're *Yawn* Nearly there Sonic. Just about 30 minutes."

"Okay. Shadow?"

"Hm?"

"You sound tired. Let's find a place to stop and I'll switch with you."

"Okay. *Yawn* We're just above Olanta."

"Fine. Call in the airport."

"Kay." I responded. This had been going on for 2 days straight now. Sonic and I would alternate when the other felt tired. When we did this, we would call in an airport, land there, buy something to eat, and take off again. Today was no different.

"Okay Sonic. We're on the line."

"Okay. Hand 'im over."

"Can do." I handed the plane's phone to Sonic and listened in to his conversation, despite my tiredness.

"Hello, this is Olanta Airport. State your name, business, and plane and we'll try and find a landing spot."

"Hi, Olanta Airport. *Yawn* My name is Sonic the Hedgehog, Me and my counterpart Shadow the Hedgehog are flying cross-country from Emerald City to Knothole. Our plane is a remodeled 2000 XV 2-Seater Piolet named the Tornado 1."

"Alrighty, Sonic the Hedgehog, guest landing quad 18 is open. Feel free to land whenever. Oh and Sonic?" The service guy asked in an undertone.

"Yeah?"

"Can I get an autograph and a photo with you? My family's a big fan and my children would love to see their dad with you."

"Sure! I love making fans ha-*Yawn*! Sorry. Happy." Sonic replied.

"It's okay, thank you! See you on the ground then!"

"See ya! Bye!"

"Bye!" Then Sonic hung up. Then he yawned. 

"How are you still tired?" I asked, yawning. Yawns were contagious.

"My doctor says that I need 11 hours min of sleep to keep up with my speed. *Yawn* That's why I take so many naps and go to bed early." Sonic said.

"Okay. We can sleep at the *Yawn* airport."

"Deal." Sonic agreed.

A few minutes later, we landing in the Olanta airport. Sonic unbuckled and jumped down to the ground. I quickly followed suit, stumbling a little due to lack of sleep. As soon as we got off a man ran up to us with a child that looked to be 8 or 9 years old.

"Hi, Sonic!" The man said. I recognized his voice. I nudged Sonic who was staring off into the distance. Sonic jumped and turned around to face me, oblivious to the man and his child. I put up a finger to show that we'd be ready in a sec.

"Shadow... I'm scared about what my dad will think of... us. I mean I told him I liked you but he doesn't know that we're boyfriends." Sonic said.

"Sonic. Look at me. You'll be fine. Your dad loves you. You love your dad. Tails told me what happened at the party. You told him that the 4 most important things to you were me, Tails, and your parents."

"O-okay... Thanks, Shadz." Sonic said as I leaned up to kiss Sonic. Our lips connected and we heard a gag from behind us. Sonic broke our kiss and turned around to see the man and his son with his hands over his eyes.

"Shadz! Why didn't you tell me there were people waiting! We'll talk about this more over dinner!" Then walking towards the man he said, "Hi! I'm Sonic the Hedgehog. How can I help you? I followed Sonic as he introduced me. "This is Shadow the Hedgehog, my boyfriend."

"Oh! Hi Sonic! I'm the man you called for the airport! This is my 9-year-old son, Sam. He wants to be a pilot when he grows up so I take him to work with me. I'm Christain. It's so good to finally meet you!" Christain eagerly grabbed Sonic's hand and shook it vigorously.

"Nice to meet you too, Christain and Sam!" Sonic kneeled down and opened his arms for Sam who had come running to Sonic. Sam embraced Sonic in a hug. I could tell that Sam was really happy and I figured Sonic was too. For a while, they hugged and I started to wonder why Sonic didn't let go before I realized. One of Sonic's unspoken rules was that if a child hugged him, Sonic could not end the hug. The child ended the hug because it could be the only attention that the child gets from anyone. This thought warmed my heart and put a smile on my face as I watched Sam embrace his hero.

Eventually, Sam ended the hug and I let my mind wander as Sonic did his thing. One thing I reflected on was Sonic's rules.

1) If someone hugs you, you CAN NOT let go first. The hug could be the only attention they get the whole day.

2) You are ALWAYS honest and true to your word. If you agree or promise to do something, you can't ever back down.

3) If someone asks for something, you give it to them. (See #2)

4) Always keep a happy, upbeat attitude in hard times. Seeing their hero positive will give them hope. Even if said hope is just a sliver.

I was broken out of my thoughts when Sonic said, "See ya! Thanks and have a nice day!*Yawn*" I looked at Sonic when he said this and saw him waving to Christain and Sam who were waving back. Sam, clutching something in his left hand while waving with his right.

"Bye! Thanks again!" Christain responded, turning away and walking with his son to the control room.

"Well... Now that that's done let's *Yawn* find some food and a place to sleep!" Sonic said, yawning for the millionth time.

"Yes," I responded in agreement, yawning as well. "Let's find some food and a place to sleep."

Sonic nodded, grabbed my hand, yawned, and walked into the airport.

As we walked in I heard Sonic sigh. I could see why. 

At first, nothing happened but then a little rabbit yelled, "Sonic!" And this made people stare. But only for a little while. As soon as the crowd realized what was happening, kids and adults alike ran up to Sonic with papers, abandoning their luggage. As the crowd of admirers clambered for my counterpart's attention, I stepped back, not wanting to get in the way.

I knew that I wouldn't want to be in my blue lover's shoes, I felt a little left out from all the attention he was getting. I guess I was looking a little downcast because a few seconds after I realized my exclusion, a group of teens walked up to me.

"A-re you S-shadow the Hedgehog?" The first boy asked, encouraged by his friends.

I looked up, a little surprised before saying, "Yeah... That's me."

"Well... we really like how bada*s you are so we were wondering if we could have your autographs?" The boy asked. 

I was a little taken aback but I quickly regained my 'emo' bada*s attitude growling, "Sure thing."

"Oh! Thanks, Shadow! My name's Shades by the way!" Shades said, handing me his and his friend's papers. After I signed them Shades whispered, "Hey Shadow. Could you say something sexy and bada*s to Sonic?"

"Okay," I growled. I turned and started walking towards Sonic saying, "Hey Sonic." Sonic turned at the sound of his name. "Are you my D*MN fourth chaos emerald, because it's so hard to find someone as sexy as you!" Sonic blushed so hard, much to his fans' delight. By now I had reached Sonic who was blushing furiously and kissed him while he was in the middle of signing a red hawks paper.

"Shadow! Now's not the time for cheesy pick-up lines!" Sonic fumed after the kiss, obviously embarrassed, while he finished signing the last of his fan's papers.

 After the crowd of Mobians and Humans dispersed, Sonic and I headed deeper into the airport. But right before we were about to push open the main doors Sonic stopped.

"Sonic! What's wrong?" I asked, noticing the abrupt stop of his azure counterpart.

"Nothing! It's just... I want to get going quickly and not get stuck with signing autographs." Sonic sighed before going on. "I love saving people and I love the attention it grants me but being the most famous man in the world is hard sometimes, ya know?"

I backtracked until I was standing right in front of Sonic. "It's okay! Here. I have an idea." I said as I took Sonic by the hand and led the famed Blue Blur back the way we had come. 

"Wha- Shadow! What are you intending to do?" Sonic yelled as I rushed out to his bi-plane. As I let go of Sonic and jumped up to the luggage part of the plane I heard a small 'Oh.' escape his lips. 

I landed and found Sonic's suitcase. I unzipped it and found what I was looking for. Sonic's favorite hoodie. I made sure his suitcase was zipped before I jumped down to Sonic.

"Ah... a hoodie. Why didn't I think of that before?" Sonic said embarrassed again. Sonic's favorite hoodie was a black sweater with a picture of the full moon with the words 'Walk the Moon' written on it.

There were 2 types of hoodies on Mobius. One type had slits for certain features like ears, quills and such while others had fabric covering the ears, quills, and such. The second type was the one Sonic liked to wear because it covered his royal blue fur and quills. Unless he was in a good mood and wanted to be seen.

Sonic grabbed the hoodie out of my hands and put it on, making sure his quills were in the right spot to fit so he could pull the hood over his face. Now with his hoodie on the only things that were showing were Sonics tail, muzzle, gloves, and shoes. Hopefully, no-one would notice. And if they did, have the sense to not ask or an autograph. And, though I too loved the attention I got, hoped not to be noticed. 

I was a little saddened at the realization that I'm not as famous as Sonic so most people don't recognize me. And if they did, they recognized me as the "bad" guy.

Sonic breathed a sigh of relief and led me back to where we left off saying, "C'mon Shadz!" 

All I could do was smirk, respond with an "Okay." and follow my love.

Sonic's POV

I smiled as I raced down the hallway, dragging Shadow along with me and skidded to a halt when I reached our destination. When I stopped, I accidentally threw Shadow forward, causing him to crash threw the doors. Shadow's sudden break threw gained a crowd and laughter from me.

"Shut it, Faker!" Shadow grumbled as he got up.

"Sorry, Shadz! You okay?" I asked as I helped him up and shooed away the crowd.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Oh, and Sonic?" Shadz asked.

"Yeah?" I answered, not really paying attention as I had just spotted a restaurant that I liked.

"What do I call you so as to not attract unwanted attention?" Shadow asked. I looked at him and thought a while.

"Oh... You can call me... M-Maurice..." I responded embarrassed. "It's my real name by the way..." I said, trailing off in embarrassment. "Now, about that restaurant!" I began, and not waiting for Shadow I ran towards it with him yelling after me.

"Son-Maurice!" Shadow yelled as he ran to keep up with me. I laughed and got in line for Panda Express. (That's one of my favorite restaurants btw!)

"Maurice! You can't just run off like that!" Shadow scolded, sounding like a father scolding his child.

"Hmm... That is not correct!" I started. Shadow groaned. "Because according to the encyclopedia of asdfghjkl the Hero of Mobius can do whatever he wants. And therefore, considering that I'm said hero, I can do what I want!" 

Shadow groaned. "Ugg... same ol' cocky blue idiot. Besides, I thought you didn't want to be found out. Oh! And look! Here come some fans now!" Shadow said, smirking.

"Well, if you're telling the truth it's most likely because not everyone has a blue tail and FYI, Yo no idiota!" I shot back.

"No really! Look behind you!" Shadow said, still smirking. I quickly turned around and saw no one running up or behind me. "HA! You're so gullible!"

"Shadow... It's nothing to joke about! Besides, people like me because I'm the one hedgehog that was born with these abilities!" I said.

"You think people love you because you're the 'chosen one'?" Shadow asked unamused.

"But I AM the Chosen One!" I joked.

Shadow then proceeded to smack Sonic upside the head.

"Sorry! I couldn't resist!" I said as Shadow and I doubled over in laughter.

"First you're quoting memes, then you're quoting Harry Potter?" Shadow choked out.

"Yeah!" I said, calming down a little.

"Um excuse me Mr. Hedgehogs? Can I take your order?" A new voice interrupted our laughing session. I looked up and responded immediately.

"Oh! Yeah! Can I get your Original Orange Chicken, half serving of your Chow Mein, a full serving of your White Steamed Rice, Oh! I'd also like your Cream Cheese WonTons and... 2 Fortune Cookies!" I listen eagerly. 

Shadow looked shocked and I asked if there was anything he wanted which he responded with, "I'll share it with you! But don't forget 2 glasses of water."

"Alrighty... Anything else?" The Coypu(Also known as the Nutria or Swamp Rat) in front of me asked.

"No, But thanks," I squinted, reading the Coypu's nametag. "Dave!" (Yes, it is Dave the Intern! And FYI, Dave is a Coypa and not a beaver)

"Okay... that'll be... 19 rings." Dave said as I pulled out my wallet. I was about to remove the amount needed when Shadow stopped me. I looked at him and saw the black hedgehog smile while he smacked 20 rings on the counter.

"Keep the change." Shadow said. 

Dave nodded, brushed the rings into his register and went to get our food stating that it would take about 5 minutes.

"Wow, Shadow! That was so bad*ss!" I said blushing. 

Shadow blushed too and replied with, "It was nothing, just  me being a good Boyfriend."

"Awe, thanks!"

"You're welcome. Now let's find a place to sit." A still blushing Shadow said, waving his hand towards the tables surrounding us.

"Ooh! This one!" I said eagerly, running to a table near the restaurant. When Shadow caught up I smiled and sat down.

"So..." Shadow said, attempting to spark a conversation but I had already pulled out my phone.

"Ya know, I should probably call my dad to tell him 'bout our situation. I'm gonna find a quiet place." I said searching my contacts for him.

"Kay..." Shadow said softly, sounding almost sad. I just barely heard it and turned to look at him but Shadow was staring into the distance so I left to make the phone call.

Ring...Ring...Ring...

"C'mon dad! Pick up!" I said.

"Hi, you've reached Jules Hedgehog! Sadly I can't come to the phone right now so if you'll leave your name and number I'll get back to you as soon as I can!" A voice said. I sighed and decided to leave a message

"Hey, dad! This is your son, Sonic. Um, I was just calling to let you know that um... we'll be a while since we stopped at the Olanta Airport for some munchies and Z's. And remember how I said that I'd be bringing a friend? Well... actually, nevermind. I'll tell you about it when we get to your place. So call me as soon as you can and I'll catch you on the flip side!"

After recording my message I hung up and walked back to Shadow and our food.

I sat down and Shadow asked, "So how'd it go?"

"Well," I said in the middle of splitting our meal in 2. "He never answered so I left a message!"

"Oh... okay then. Shall we eat?" Shadow asked, reaching out to grab a WonTon.

"My precious!!" I growled at Shadow as I slapped his hand away from the WonTons.

"So now you're quoting Golem. Let's see... Memes, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings... anything else I should be prepared for?" Shadow asked unamused after he had gotten over his initial shock.

"Probably not, but those WonTons are mine!" I said.

"Fiiiiine... gimme that Orange Chicken and rice then." Shadow said reaching out for his portion.

"Here ya go Shads! Enjoy!" I responded cheerfully as I handed my ebony love his meal.

Shadow rolled his eyes and took his food to begin eating.

"Thanks." He murmured and started to devour his food. I guess we were both hungry.

Time Skip-Shadow's POV

"In this world!!!! (His World!) Where life is strong! In this world!!!! (His World!) Life's an open book! In this world! (His World!) Where compromise does not exist! In this world! (His world!)"

That was what I woke up to. Sonic's theme. Of course, his ringtone would be his theme. I cracked open my eyes to see that a few people had stopped out of curiosity. I sat up and realized that Sonic was still asleep. So I found Sonic's phone and answered it.

"Hello, who is this?" I asked.

"Uh... hello! Is this Sonic the Hedgehog?"

"No, this is Shadow the hedgehog but I can get Sonic on the line for ya. Just a sec."

"K."

I set the phone down and looked over at Sonic.

"Hey! Wake up!" No response. "Maurice!" Still no response. "Maurice!" I said a bit louder, gaining the attraction of others near us. "Hey!" I said, shaking Sonic.

"Sonic Hedgehog!" I yelled into his ear. This got the attention of passerby's.

"Mmm... 5 more minutes..." Sonic moaned. I sighed and decided to push Sonic off the chair. I did and it conveniently woke Sonic up.

"Wha?!!? Oof..." Sonic said as he hit the ground. Sonic only laid down for a few seconds before getting up, stupidly taking off his hood, and looked around frantically with sleep still in his eyes.

"Alright. He's here!" I said picking up Sonic's phone.

"Hey! That's my phone! And who are ya talking too?" Sonic asked, trying to throw off his fans. 

I snickered and said, "Your dad. I think."

"O-okay... Gimme my phone!" Sonic yelled as he was being clobbered by pens and papers.

I tossed his phone to him and he miraculously caught it and put it to his ear.

"Hi! This is Sonic the Hedgehog, how can I help you?" Sonic flinched. "Dad, I can't fly a plane for 30 minutes straight without rest or food!" 

Pause. "That's not my decision! It's what the Doc says!" 

Another pause. "Of course I need my rest! I accelerate to Mach 3 from a standstill! I need to sleep!...

Yup, I know....

yes...

His name is Shadow....

Yes, he's a boy! Am I not allowed to have a male friend?...

Yes! We're a thing!...

He's that guy I told you about, remember?....

Yes, we're going now!...

Then he hung up. "We should probably head out. Dad's mad that we're together."

"A-are you sure we should talk to him?" I asked.

"Would you if you haven't seen your family in 5 years?" Sonic snapped. He was a little angry.

"Yeah, we should get going... SCAT!" I yelled to the crowd.

"Come on." Sonic muttered, stalking to the exit and his bi-plane. I silently followed him, picking up the hint that he didn't really want to talk.
