All of a sudden, the clouds above up darkened and lighting and thunder began. A voice familiar voice talked from the clouds.

     "Jake," Zeus said.

     I looked up. "Dad?"

     "We need some help up here," he said. "We're overpowered and outnumbered. Apparently, some minor gods have betrayed us have been with the cyclops for a few years now. We can hold them off until you find the last two members of your team, so please hurry up."

     With that, the voice stopped and the sky cleared again. If the gods really needed us that much, some bad stuff really must be happening.

     "We better hurry up and find these other two members," I said.

     "But how can we?" Beth said. "We don't even know where to find them."

     "Well, do you know someone who might?"

     "Going back to Camp Half-Blood is dangerous, but no one ever said anything about not contacting them."

     "What are you talking about? Chiron had told me to never use some type of electrical device of it'll be easy for the monsters to find me. You might as well shot a flare in the air."

     She shook her head. "You really are stupid."

     She dug in her pocket and brought out a golden coin.

     "This called a golden drachma. With this, you can contact other people. It's called an Iris Message. All we need to do is make a rainbow and find a body of water."

     Well first of all, I had no idea where we were, so how am I supposed to know where to find a body of water. And second, how come Chiron never told me about these coins.

     I told Speedy to land, and he responded with a snort as he began to descend. When he had successfully landed, he flew away. I sighed. How many times was he going to abandon us and come back later? It was getting kind of tiring.

     "So where to?" I asked Beth.

     She shrugged. "Maybe we could look around."

     All that I saw was a grass field for as far as my eyes could see. I doubt there was any water. Out of nowhere, a rainbow appeared from the sky and landed in front of us. Then then mist appeared and when it had disappeared, a buck of water lay in front of us. Just lucky can we get?

     "That helps," Beth said as she flipped the coin the water. "Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please accept my offering. She me Chiron in Camp Half-Blood."

     Mist gathered in front of her and an image of Chiron appeared. He was dressed in armor as if he was preparing for a war.

     "Chiron!" Beth shouted to get his attention.

     Chiron turned, surprised to see Beth again. "Beth! Are you alright? Cyclopes have surrounded camp and we can't get in. Some Demigods tried to enter, but they killed them."

     A sad face came upon his face. Beth quickly explained the situation we were in. Chiron listened without interrupting but nodded from time to time. When she had finished, Chris looked worse than before.

     After a few moments of silence, Chiron finally said, "That's bad. Really bad."

     "No kidding," I sad.

     "We just had two new demigods a few days ago, but managed to escape. One of them was a child of Hades, and the other was Hecate's."

     "That must be them," I said.

     Chiron nodded. "The campers who helped them escape said they were headed toward the Empire State building. Find them quickly and then you should be able to complete the prophecy."

     "What prophecy?" I asked.

     Chiron opened his mouth to say something, but the mist, along with the image, disappeared. I just stood there, wondering what they prophecy was about.

     "So . . . which direction is the Empire State building?"

     "I'm guessing that dragon of yours should know,"

     I nodded and whistled. Speedy arrived faster than he normally did and we were already flying toward where I was hoping was the Empire State building. 

     After a few minutes of flying, I began to get tired. This thing turned out worse than I had expected. All I wanted to do was revenge my mother's death, and now I'm on my way to saving my world with other people like me. Should I be happy? Definitely not. There's a very high chance of me dying, and I don't think I'm ready to meet Hades just yet.

     A loud screech echoed through the sky. I looked around to find who had made the sound, but found nobody. I ignored it, and decided it was nothing important. Just then, the same screeched echoed again. This time when I looked around, I could just make out three flying creatures. They were all black with large bat-like wings and sharp fangs.

     "Hey, Beth. What are those?"

     She turned around and looked where I was pointing. Her face expression turned to one as if she had seen her worst nightmare. 

     "Th-Those couldn't b-be wh-what I th-think they are," she stuttered.

     "Then what do you think they are are?"

     "The Furies,"

     The large bat-like creatures, called Furies, flew closer to us. They looked incredibly ugly and scary to me. They landed on Speedey's tail and and snared at us. Something told me they were here to have a chat.

     "Found you," the one on the far right said in a slithery voice, "Now you die!"

     Looks like I was right. The pounced at us with their claws out and ready to scratch our faces off. My instincts took over and I took out Lightning and blocked all of their claws at once. The flew and tried again. This time, Beth drew her sword and helped block.

     Out of nowhere, they each summoned a whip and held them in their hands. They snared again and attacked with their whips. As soon as the whips were sent flying, flames danced in them. I got burned on my right cheek as I tried block two whips, but Beth managed to evade them. I stood up and lifted my self of Speedy's back with help from the wind. I kept flying backward so that I wouldn't get left behind when Speedy was flying.

     I allowed myself to fly closer to fly closer to the Furies and thrust at the middle one. It flew right, allowing me easily swing my sword at it. As soon as they made contact, it turned into a pile of gold dust. I took the time to wipe it off Speedy's tail.

     The others attacked fiercely after seeing their comrade fall. They were angry enough to forget that they were easy pickings when they charged straight on with no plan. My blade will easily reach them before their claws could touch my skin. When they were in range, I swung my sword at their heads. One saw it coming and surprisingly ducked and continued. Now I was trapped. 

     Before it could reach me, Beth's sword had stabbed it in the face, turning it into a pile of gold dust. Once again, I wiped the dust of with the winds.

     "Thanks," I said.

     She smiled. "No problem."

     I landed down  and released the winds. Then I sat back down in my spot.

     "So why did they attack us?"

     Beth shrugged. "But that's not good. They work for Hades, god of the Underworld. If we have a god against, especially one of the big three, we are in big trouble."

     "They didn't seem so tough," I said.

     "I'm pretty sure if he wanted us dead, he would've sent an arm or something."

     Then I realized that we were now flying over a city. I looked up ahead and saw our goal. The Empire State building. Speedy went over and landed in an uncrowded area. We jumped off and Speedy flew away again. We neared the Empire State building and looked at it's breathtaking view. 

     Just at the entrance, a boy and a girl were about two enter the building. Behind them was a something I almost couldn't believe. A skeletal horse. It was giving off black aura. When they were about to enter, a cyclops materialized in front of them. Without a second to waste, the boy held out his hand and a sword appeared in it. Clutching the sword, he stepped in front of the girl protectively. The cyclops charged at them. The boy pushed the girl aside and rolled under the cyclops's feet. He came up behind it and stabbed it in the back. After it had turned into a pile of golden dust, they charged inside the building.

     I immediately knew those were the people we were looking for. I looked at Beth and we both understood. We had to get to them. We ran to the entrance, and immediately, a group of cyclopes materialized in front of us. I took out Lighting and found that we were surrounded. Beth and I went to back-to-back.

     "I cover you, you cover me," I said.

     "Same to you,"

     I took a deep breath. "Ready, set . . . go!" Then we charged.
