Chapter 18: Failure

- Third Person POV -

As (Y/N) and Aleera's ship landed back onto Nal Hutta. The both of them stormed out of the ship in sheer joy, (Y/N) and Aleera had succeeded in destroying all motivations the Separatists have to chase them. But, (Y/N) didn't share much of the same positive mood Aleera had. The Sith boy, ever since their arrival back to the system felt something, to which Aleera took notice instantly.

Aleera: "Is there anything wrong, (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "It's nothing."

He dismisses.

Aleera: "Well, the mighty (Y/N) (L/N) shouldn't be worried about anything. We've just gotten rid of the two most dangerous being in the Galaxy currently after us. I'd say, that's enough to earn us a little treat."

She smiled at him, (Y/N) shook off that bad feeling he was having. Pushing it to the back of his head.

(Y/N): "I'd never think I'd say this to a Jedi. But that's a great idea."

He grinned back, he too was satisfied with their victory over the Seperatists. Aleera and him began heading towards the bar where they hung out together multiple times before their encounter with Grievous' magnaguards.

As the two entered the bar, the bartender sighted them.

Bartender: "My two favourite customers. How has your day been hmm?"

Aleera: "As great as the day allows it to be."

(Y/N): "You're a quite optimistic one. My wife always is the gleeful one."

This made Aleera blush a little, (Y/N) smiled at her flirtatiously.

(Y/N): "Aren't you?"

Aleera: "Of course."

She bowed a little. And reached into one of her pockets, where her eyes widened a little in surprise.

Aleera: "Excuse me, (Y/N). I forgot the credits back at our hotel room we've been staying in. Do you mind if I?..."

She asked, motioning out of the door with her thumb.

(Y/N): "Oh, that's alright. I'll wait here though, I'm tired after today."

He said, again feeling that disturbance. The Force is calling to him. But why? His hand shot back to his neck, rubbing it a little to disperse that feeling.

Aleera exited the bar as she headed down the street. As she did, she brushed some of her long braided hair to her shoulder. The streets were mostly deserted at twilight. But Aleera could feel something, someone watching her. She ignored it, should someone confront her, a drunk man the most probable. She should be able to disperse him without any need of force, or the Force. She chuckled at the play on words.

Her boots made rhythmic thumps on the ground for a few minutes now as she made her way to where she and her partner had been living for the past few weeks. She came to have an inflamed passion for (Y/N). She once feared his devout dedication to the Dark side could lead to a standoff that only one of them could've walked away from. But knowing him better after her time with him brought forward a dedicated character, a stout fighter and one strong with the Force.

And she didn't care that he was taught in the ways of the Dark Side. The Force is the Force, why should people care if Force Wielders utilize the other side?

Suddenly, she felt a presence. An unquestionable evil. The Dark Side, but this was unlike (Y/N)'s presence. His could be described as an erratic shadow which was akin to a violent striking snake. This one was larger, looming, a massive jet-black void of malice and hatred. She turned to set her eyes on what was watching her., her eyes landing on multiple areas and finding nothing. For once in her life she felt mild fear. Behind her, a gentle thump could be heard as it seemed like someone had leapt from a roof.

???: "What have we here?"

An older male voice asks in a rhetorical manner.

Aleera: "Who are you?... Show yourself to me!!"

Aleera yells, pulling out her blue lightsaber. Behind her, she laid her eyes on a towering man. Mahogany robes and a black hood.

She pointed her blade towards the figure, who lowered his hood to reveal a man seemingly in his late forties. He inspected the young Jedi with intrigue.

???: "Your questions will be answered, when mine are in turn. You've heard of the Destruction of the Vindiho Front?"

He asked, it was here Aleera then realized something... this man's searching for (Y/N). What does he want with him?

Aleera: "I took it upon myself to rid the Galaxy of their scum and vile acts."

???: "Impressive. So it wasn't the work of Darth (S/N) then? That's disappointing. I was expecting my son to have been the one reported to have wiped out an entire crime gang."

The middle-aged Sith casually thought. Aleera's interest peaked once more whilst inspecting the man, as she asked.

Aleera:  "Who are you, Sith?"

It was then he acknowledged her and fully introduced himself.

???: "Apologies, gentle Maid of the Light. I am Darth Krassus. I'm simply your humble Sith warrior scouring the Galaxy for my apprentice. But, as I haven't found him after a few months. Perhaps you will have to do... young Jedi."

He said, in a quite unsettling formal manner. Before he ignited his red lightsaber. Aleera in response quickly whipped out her green lightsaber, heading into a defensive stance as the older combatant grimly dragged his crimson blade across the ground while he approached her.

- Meanwhile -

Bartender: "... And then the young Jedi comes toward him and says that the Midichlorian is the powerhouse of the Force. That was just so funny to me for some reason."

The bartender chuckles.

(Y/N): "Midichlorians don't exist, they're a placeholder word formulated by the Jedi Council in order to legitimize their-..."

(Y/N) all of a sudden paused. It was only then he realized... Why had he never recognized that dark void? His Force-induced hunch he had pushed into the back of his head had been a instinctive warning. Something he had developed whenever he was in the presence of his former master, his father Darth Krassus. That vile Sith Lord who even the ancient Dark Lord Revan would have despised according to Krassus' ruthless doctrine of life.

(Y/N): "No... Aleera..."

He said, with a hint of fear.
