Nineteen

Decimus Jeong gazed at the troops he had gotten a hold of. "I'm sure you all know your mission and don't need a refresher."

The soldiers didn't respond.

Decimus sighed and stopped pacing back and forth like he was doing before. "We're to catch Jasoslav Sklairov and Lukyan Xenakis for Lord Lucifer. Then, Lucifer will gift Jasoslav to Perseus and Lukyan to Xisuthros." He paused before he started pacing back and forth again. "Perseus's has big plans. But, unfortunately, he can't go through with them unless you each do your part. Any questions?"

A demon, by the name of Fehon, raised his hand.

"Yes, Fehon? What's your question?" Decimus asked.

"What's our part?" Fehon asked.

Decimus looked like he was gonna explode or even implode with anger. "What? What the hell did you just ask me?"

Fehon gulped. "I- I wanted to know what our part was."

Decimus angrily screamed before swooping down, yanking Fehon up, and holding him by the collar of his shirt. "Oh you wanna know your part? Huh?"

"Yes," Fehon said.

Demons in Lucifer's garrison cringed at Fehon's actions.

"Your job is to help retrieve Jasoslav and Lukyan, you numb-skull!" Decimus barked at Fehon.

"My job? But, I was asking about my part, Lord Decimus," Fehon explained.

Decimus angrily shrieked before punting Fehon all the way into the next sector of Hell. He then lowered himself back to the platform that he had been standing on before Fehon's whole charade. "Anyone else have any questions?"

The whole garrison all shook their heads in unison. Their eyes were wide with terror.

"Good," Decimus responded. "If anyone needs me... Don't." He stepped off the platform and entered the tent that was pitched just for him.

He rubbed his temples in a soothing motion. His migraine raged. He had been angry. Hell, Decimus couldn't remember the last time he that been that angry. He didn't think he had even been that angry...ever. He was usually a relaxed, laid back archangel--but something had changed that.

Decimus angrily huffed. Lucifer--that's who had changed him. Lucifer, his obnoxious younger brother, was always pushing his buttons. Even, Perseus was known for doing that to him too. But, Lucifer and Perseus's annoying antics wasn't enough for Decimus to drop out of helping them on their mission.

Suddenly, a female demon barged into the tent, with a guard following her.

The guard--Yotekon--frowned, looking at Decimus. Yotekon was out of breath. "I'm sorry, Lord Decimus. I tried to stop her. I really did. But she just barged passed me. She was too fast."

Decimus looked at the demon.

He believed her name to be Olwyn Vilkas.

"I said to leave me be," Decimus said, standing. "I need some time alone."

Olwyn sighed. "I'm sorry to disturb you, Lord Decimus. I know Fehon did a number on you."

"Yes. Yes, he did," Decimus began to say to Olwyn. "I was aware that some members of my brother's garrison were stupid, but not that stupid." He sighed. "What can I do for you?"

Olwyn approached Decimus, lowering her voice. "You mean, what can I do for you?"

Decimus then asked, "Okay. What can you do for me?"

"I bring valuable information, Decimus, my liege," Olwyn began to say. "Information of Lukyan and Jasoslav's whereabouts as well as a traitor in our midst."

Decimus looked toward Yotekon. "Leave us. We must discuss some matters of great importance."

Yotekon nodded in response to Decimus before leaving the tent.

"Now what is this about a traitor?" Decimus eagerly asked Olwyn.

"Well, the garrison had come across Lukyan and Jasoslav earlier at the old, run-down inn," Olwyn explained to Decimus. "We nearly had them surrounded. But, the traitor attacked us and helped the kids escape."

"To where?" Decimus inquired.

"The traitor formed a rift for the kids to enter. Darkness escaped that said rift," Olwyn responded.

"The Prizrak Realm..." Decimus breathed. "Olwyn, do you think they're still there?"

"They very well could be, my liege," Olwyn answered.

"We'll send the troops out right away," Decimus said. Then the archangel asked, "Who was this traitor?"

Olwyn took a deep breath. "Athanasia Nyqvist."

"Lucifer's top general? That thought had crossed my mind once or twice, but I have to admit, it still makes for a twist," Decimus said. He gazed at Olwyn. "I'm promoting you. You're now Lady Olwyn... My top general."

"You're really promoting me for that?" Olwyn asked.

"Yes. You've provided me with useful information. I'm very grateful for that," Decimus explained to her. "Olwyn, you may go."

Olwyn nodded. "Yes, my liege." She headed toward the mouth of the tent.

"And Olwyn? One more thing. Tell the troops they ride at midnight."
