Where It All Began

Pain. Overwhelming pain shot out across his entire body. He couldn't isolate it and he couldn't figure the cause. When he opened his eyes it was gone, all of it gone without any trace that it was ever there. His limbs didn't hurt, he wasn't short of breath, just a vague memory of what pain was.

"The hell...?" He whispered, looking around as he did so. He was wearing jeans and a tightly fitting blue t-shirt with a random logo on it that he'd never seen before.

He was standing in front of the very same garage that he'd encountered a cyclops in, right before he'd met Artemis for the first time in his life. What the hell was he doing here? He couldn't help but feel weak, like there wasn't enough power volting through his veins. What had really happened to him? His senses were all going into overdrive. Just in front of him he saw a cyclopse come barrelling out of the entrance to the garage, it's one eye honed in right on him.

"Did I get sent back in time?" He asked himself, paying little mind to the cyclops that was fast approaching him. He had nothing to worry about, he could kill this monster with no more than a thought.

"Maybe, but it didn't hurt when I fell into Death's time trap-that's a big fist." Percy got sidetracked right before the cyclops meaty knuckles crashed right into his torso, sending him rocketing straight into a tree a dozen feet behind where he'd been standing.

There was so much force behind it that his body had broken bark off the tree and even sent a crack going halfway up the tree itself. An impressive feat for a cyclops.

"OK, that REALLY hurt, which should not be possible." He spat, breathing heavily.

"Sent back in time AND robbed of my damn power. So I'm at mortal level once again huh? Alright then." He muttered. He could feel eyes on him, presences that seemed to be doubling in number every few seconds. Now, if that happened to be a certain band of merry misandrists then perhaps he was right and he really had been sent back in time.

Chaos had been right, Abaddon must have been beginning his attack where it would hurt the most, by getting rid of Percy entirely by sending him back in time. A constant loop where he would be trapped forever, never to break free unless he could work back up and find some way to get to Chronos and force that time meddling bastard to send him back.

"But first this fucking cyclops." He whispered, holding his hand out to his side. He could still feel that throb in his body when he did that so at least he still had his axe. The cyclops began to charge once more, pushing on with impressive speed in the dozen feet between them.

Before he could bring his hand down on Percy the prince had his axe in hand, swinging upwards sending a tirade of lightning skywards, assaulting the atmosphere with a hail of bright energy. That was sure to have gotten the Gods attention if nothing else.

But if he was back where he started then a meeting with the Gods was what happened next anyway. He let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding before crawling onto the ground with a slight giggle.

"It's been so long since I had to put this much effort into killing... Well, anything." He laughed hysterically. The thrill of the fight had almost been lost to him.

Oh he was so going to enjoy killing Abaddon when the time came. He wondered if he still held all of his titles or whether he'd have to get them back, perhaps he'd decline Apollo's drinking challenge this time around, and miss pretty much most of the others if he could help it. King of Asgard and Prince of the Universe were good enough for him.

Dominator of Time might have been quite a fun one though. Wait, he was already a lord of time because of his brief stint in Tartarus with Kronos, perhaps that was how he was able to sense that he'd been flung through time.

"Move and you'll be hailed with arrows." He heard an angry yet decidedly feminine voice.

"Yeah, that'll happen if you decided to let loose with thirty little bows." He answered back, not even bothering to open his eyes. He was still exhausted from his previous night with Artemis. They'd fully gotten hands on with each other, which could have possibly set some certain events in motion that meant he absolutely had to break this time curse and return to the right time.

"Hey," He heard that unmistakable voice of the woman he loved, "What took you so long? I went back to early Ancient Greece and had to play history out all over again, did you only just get here?" Artemis asked, looking down at him with a sincere smile.

"You're going to ask me why I'm late after being punched into a tree?" He looked at her sceptically. "At least you're here with me. Abaddon must have thought you to be just as much of a threat." He explained, getting to his knees despite all of the arrows pointed at him.

"Lady Artemis, do you know this male?" One of her hunters asked. The older ones, Thalia especially, simply looked at him seemingly trying to figure out whether or not they recognized him. Perhaps part of them followed through time as well.

"Hashtag power couple." Percy grinned, loving the look of annoyance that his fiancé was giving him. He'd already gathered that no one remembered him save for Artemis herself, so he could understand that they'd have to replay history as it was.

"I do but it's such a long story, one that quite ironically we don't have the time for. We need to go to Olympus Percy, we have to tell them the truth." She decided. She'd reached forwards to grab a hold of him but he casually took a single step back and held up his hand.

"Tell them what? That we're the King and Queen of Asgard or that we're the chosen ones to assume the mantle of the universe? Because all that's totally believable to the Gods of Olympus." He looked on in disbelief, did she really think that was a good idea.

"It's the best plan I've got right now. I'll tell them exactly what has happened in great detail then I'll swear an oath on the Styx. No point you doing it, you might have been stripped of nearly all of your power but your soul itself is still as strong as ever and I highly doubt that Styx would involve herself in you trying to swear an oath.

"Alright but while we're talking about death oaths, can we talk about last night?" He asked, flashing a cheeky grin with his sharp canines sticking out ever so slightly.

"Percy that was almost five thousand years ago for me." Artemis told him impatiently. She could feel the growing confusion that was spreading throughout her hunters but she didn't have time to answer those questions right now.

"Don't blame me, I'm just a beautiful dark angel of destruction, chaos, anarchy, and mischief... I'm totally innocent." He told her with the absolute worst face of innocence anyone had ever seen.

Artemis studied him for a moment before speaking up, "I'd forgotten exactly what extent the 'Armageddon' percentage was in your original personality. Having a sharp wake-up call with this sudden realization that he was always slightly more prominent." She sighed contently.

Percy grinned darkly, "The one and only Son of Odin is back. I was gonna say at full strength, buuuttt..." Percy looked down at his straining hand. His gleaming platinum axe had promptly left the confines of reality after the threat had passed and wouldn't currently respond to him. So he didn't actually have full control over it in the first place.

"Odin?" Thalia asked with bewilderment thick on her features.

"It's a long story." Both Percy and Artemis told her at the same time.

"So Abaddon wants me to be forced through an endless loop where I never get to fight him. So I need to basically conjure up enough strength to break through time on my own. Ok, game on Abaddon." Percy's piercing gaze took on an almost unstable hue of power as they became an even deeper shade of platinum. Electricity began to arc around his body, violently swirling around like a maelstrom of pure power.

It all lasted for no longer than a few tense moments before it died down again. Artemis had no idea what he'd been doing, and she didn't know at all how she was meant to explain all of this to her hunters. It had been so easy for her to force a facade of her old ways, resenting men as she had done all those years ago.

It became quite easy when she thought about the fact that the only man she ever really cared for WAS Percy, so for the others that attempted to come into her life, she'd not had any difficulty treating them how she had done so in the past.

"I'm really not strong enough to break free, I take it that you're back to your old strength?" Percy asked, looking up at the silver Goddess, back in charge of her hunt. It was funny to look at her and think of the hunt as being a vague memory of the family Artemis had before he'd come along.

"Which at this point I was stronger than you." Artemis pointed out with a smug grin.

Percy frowned while he thought about that for a moment, "Even as a Demi-god I was strong enough before to survive a shot from your dads spark stick." Percy shot back without faltering from his frown.

"Hardly means anything, you're what, a million percent resistant to lightning?" Artemis raised a brow, he wasn't serving to prove anything.

"OK, but I managed to physically survive Tartarus for two whole years where my only company was a grumpy bastard of a Titan. Sorry Hunters, I've stolen your mistress from you for too long now. My Lady, I need to evaluate the situation further." Percy told her with a wink and a kiss which served to earn him a number of arrows flying straight towards him.

Luckily a small portion of his strength had followed him back to his point, perhaps that was why he'd not lost his memory, himself and Artemis both must have been simply too powerful for their memories to have disappeared as well.

"You're stronger than you were when we first met." Artemis noted seeing the exact extent that his reflexes had pinpointed every arrow that was coming his way. She could easily see just how effortlessly he was dodging them all. "Girls, that's enough. You'll never hit him, he's too far advanced, a man out of time." Artemis told them whimsically.

"Man." Phoebe murmured from somewhere to Artemis' right hand side.

Percy slowed his pirouetting as the arrows stopped coming, with a bit of visible effort he grunted and his beautiful black wings had burst forth from his back, hovering gracefully in the air. Artemis had almost forgotten the welcoming sight of those striking wings.

Before anyone could comment on the wings, Apollo had appeared in a golden flash of light, looking around everyone before letting his eyes fall on Percy. "Mmhmm, just as I thought." He announced as if he knew exactly what was going on.

"Thunder pigeon." He nodded, pointing at Percy.

"Oh no." Artemis' breathed heavily, eyes wide. She felt the pressure first, that was what made her realize that the situation was bad. She FELT it before any of her other senses picked anything up. Percy's eyes grew dark with a slowly churning rage.

The clouds above began to swirl violently, all converging on what most of the Hunters saw as directly above Percy.

"Thunder. Pigeon." He said very slowly. With a single movement of his wrist that gleaming axe shot across their vision, leaving a trail of arcing lightning that had only be visible for a fraction of a second before fading from view.

"I should probably advise kid, that I am in fact a God and can incinerate you just by unleashing my true form." Apollo announced, probably feeling a lot more confident than he had any right to.

"You should be very careful who you dare to insult. I've been cast back through time by an eternal deity that vies to take my throne as Prince of the universe. I've been reduced to about a thousandth of my full power and at this stage I basically still have enough physical strength bench press a planet." Percy continued to glare, the pressure around them gradually rising, some of the hunters were struggling to keep their bows risen, others were struggling to even stand.

"Like that means anything." Apollo snorted before Percy cut him off.

"This I swear on the River Styx who has to answer my challenge as I'm half Greek God." Percy's words were backed up by the rumble of unmistakable thunder caused only by the deity of Styx. Apollo began to pale to a sickly shade before disappearing all together.

"Thunder pigeon, what an asshole." Percy muttered, loosening his grip on his axe which in turn gave it the chance to fade from reality once more.

"Anyway," Artemis began after letting out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding, "What are we going to do? I can't leave my hunt. That's not how we did it last time." She pointed out.

"Right. I've got to get Chaos' attention, which means going to Olympus and summoning Odin. So, you were right, Olympus it is." Percy flashed a grin, knowing that once he got there he was going to get some form of vengeance against Apollo for calling him a thunder pigeon. And it was going to be extremely painful.
