Chapter 10: Perseus reveals his true form

(Roman) Annabeth's POV:

An: Annabeth isn't aware of the above mentioned () thing and still thinks herself to be Greek atm

By the gods these two. I am so sorry you all had to go through that rush process by them. Though I do appreciate that they at least made it PG. I will leave it for your imagination but what actually happened those last two chapters was much worse than Nyx's kids pushing each-other into a river and a mushroom cloud of monster dust that spontaneously appeared.

Maybe that's why they rushed it. To describe what actually happened and what we saw is neigh beyond description. Kinda like how the Christian's bible doesn't describe hell to picturesque so most rely on Donte's interpretation and thoughts of what Hell is like.

Anyway Perseus left you all off at him being shoved through the doors of death elevator. Well Iapetus actually kinda threw him in. Thalia and I were ready to leave this place so we didn't need said persuasions, but Perseus wasn't ready to leave our two new friends behind. Well one of them is new. The other is newish.

"Your sacrifice will be made known" Perseus said as the doors closed. Though he looked like he had a heavy heart at that, which is kind of expected with his loyalty to friends and family.

Thalia and I both wanted to comfort him, me probably more so than her because for some reason it physically hurt to see Perseus this...upset at having to leave behind our friends.

I didn't have much time to make a decision on how best to comfort Perseus as the doors started to open and Perseus on a panic grabbed both doors and strained to hold them as closed as he could. That being said, there was a small crack where the doors would open that allowed something through but I couldn't tell if it was light or darkness.

"Help" Perseus strained out, which shook Thalia and myself out of our stupor of the doors opening. By the time we got there a skeletal hand stuck itself through the door and I recognized the symbol on the cuff link as one from a Germany army officer during an Austrian mustached man's rule over Germany.

Thalia put her shoulder into the door and pushed which gave me the idea to do the same to the other door which closed it on the hand making a sickening bone crushing noise.

Perseus took a breath of relaxation as Thalia and I held the doors shut. "You all got that" he asked in his joking tone of voice. So maybe it's Percy shining through.

"What do you think moon boy" Thalia strained out worse than Perseus did. Me however. Well with Thalia's technique didn't really feel all that strained, which is weird. Maybe it has something to do with my adoptive mother's powers and not raw strength, though I imagine the latter would help.

Perseus sighed and moved behind Thalia getting into a stance similar to hers before shouldering the door and pushing it closed. "Go help with Annabeth. I got this side" he said calmly.

"But" Thalia tried

"Go help your sister wife since you two seem fit to say we are engaged.

Thalia looked dumbfounded as she walked over and helped me with the door, which took off the slight annoyance of pressure I was feeling.

"You think I don't pay attention when Percy is in control"

"Well yeah" Thalia mumbled out

"Well you're mostly right. But when I hear the shocking stuff. Well I pay attention then" Perseus replied.

Nico's POV:

An: Nico is losing it a bit so don't blame him. Blame Apollo like the hunt does.

I AM FUCKING DONE WITH THIS BULLSHIT. OF IT WERENT FOR MY COUSINS AMD ANNABETH I WOULD HAVE LEFT. SERIOUSLY. GAIA HAS SOME SERIOUS FUCKING MENTAL PROBLEMS AND DEFINITELY NEEDS THERAPY.

Deep breaths Nico. Deep breaths.

Better. Yeah better. Good job Nico. Thanks Nico.

Look Will said I need positivity in my internal dialogue. So I'm trying ok. Anyway let me tell you what's been going on since you've last heard from the upper side with the slaughter of cows.

We ran into another one of my cousins. This one a son of Poseidon, Sciron, and arguably he's just as bad as Heracles and Orion, another son of Poseidon that I sense is hunting us for that damn statue in the back. Good thing with that he's a few days off at least.

Well Sciron was dealt with, with Hazel and her new champion of Hectate powers, well soon to be champion of. Either way her use of the mist probably rivaled the goddess's children's natural talent with Mist manipulation.

Then there was Cupid in Diocletian's palace. That's a long story which I won't get into because of the god's stupidity and not knowing I'm openly gay. Well Jason was surprised but every one else wasn't...I'm starting to see a connection between Zeus's sons and their brain capabilities, or well lack thereof.

Now and thankfully with the help of the dead Roman emperor's scepter and an army of the dead we come up on our current predicament. That being an army of monsters, a giant more than likely, and a sorceress that killed her own kids because husband cheated...maybe that's what Hera should do instead of killing her step children.

Anyway if you didn't know it's Medea. So yeah we are fucked if Hazel can't out magic her. I have my hopes but it's low. And the bad news is, the hunt arguably one of if not the most elite of Olympus's mobile forces, who are currently on the ship with the rest of us, are refusing to leave their brother's room and help at all. Even though we are facing a battle to get to the only chance at current of getting him out of Tartarus. Oh and the goddess, or well goddesses that travel with them are also MIA. Like seriously. We could use some godly help but no. Apparently Zoe is too depressed to help and Artemis too busy comforting Zoe to help us.

Breathe Nico. Don't forget to breathe.

So yeah. Some how though thankfully if you ask me. Frank took control of the army of dead and added his own dragon tooth soldier to the mix to kill the enemy army.

Hazel, Leo, and I were able to break through their lines which lead to the splitting of enemy lines and reforming of enemy line between the Argo 2 and Frank, Jason, and the undead army.

"We gotta go. Don't let them follow us" I yelled back to our friends as Hazel and Leo took off down the tunnels infront of me.

Though if the sound of a satyr screaming die interrupted by the sound of Calista going off is anything to go by. I don't think there'll be many problems if any following us down here

"So why do we need that staff again" Leo asked

"Because if we don't have it we will die down here" I said

"But can't Hazel like manipulate tunnels"

"Not with this other magician around" Hazel replied.

"Oh"

"So what are we going through with plan A still" Leo asked

"Yes Leo" Hazel and I replied

"Will it work"

"It worked on Sciron" I replied

"But"

"We don't have any other options if we don't want the hunt to murder us" Hazel whisper shouted at Leo which thankfully got him to shut up.

(Roman) Annabeth's POV:

I don't know how long this trip is supposed to last and all I can hope for is that it is shorter than the fall. But my shoulder was starting to grow tired of pushing this door close even with Thalia's help. Though from here I could see Perseus starting to sweat.

I started taking deep breaths to keep my brain from failing on me due to lack of oxygen.

Time skip: yeah they've been in there for like 11ish minutes

I feel like I've been holding this door shut for hours and was about to give up when the doors flew opens and expelled Thalia Perseus and I onto the floor of some cavern. As long as it's not Tartarus and has a pathway to the above ground it's good in my books.

What I could see was that Leo and Nico were here by the doors Nico looking relieved that we survived and weren't a group of blood thirsty monsters. Leo though looked confused as Thalia and I were collapsed by the door in a...suggestive position together to say the least, but thankfully Tartarus didn't turn our clothes to rags.

I would have been fine resting there if it weren't for the sudden surprised yell of some woman and what I am presuming is the appearance of a giant.

"GET BACK TO FIGHTING THEM" Perseus shouted and drew his two swords. The one from his sister and the other from our second quest that he acquired.

Leo and Nico ran off with Percy, while Hazel came to check on Thalia and I. "Are you two"

"Fine just tired. Help them" Thalia said for us as I tried getting up but found that gravity was being a bitch. How Perseus was back and on his feet will forever allude me.

I would have just laid back and hoped and prayed that it will end up fine, but then I saw that the mist was forming a new being, that turned out to be Hectate, and she was ready for battle but not fighting the mortal magic person here but a giant I am just now noticing. Note to self. Be careful with Hazel and her use of the mist.

Perseus however was growing more and more irritated the longer the fight went on, mainly because he was getting tired of killing mist forms of the same person.

He looked around and seemed to have decided on something drastic. Why do I have a different but still worrying feeling than I did down in Tartarus before we entered the gates.

Well. I was justified in that feeling as my Perseus started to glow golden causing Hazel, Nico and Leo to look away. Other than the bright gold light there was no other warning for what was about to happen.

Perseus let out a burst of golden energy that when it subsided I saw what appeared to be a blazing silver fire that spread and covered the whole room before retreating and reforming the body of Perseus. Hectate looked at said body with more fear than how I imagine Zeus does at the mention of his father or even appearance of said father.

I knew, likely as did Hectate, that Perseus did something that shouldn't have been possible. He revealed his true form by my best guess which would explain the golden light and lack of physical humanoid body.

The good news from this was that the sorceress witch was a burning corpse while our friends and Thalia were fine and the giant was in inaudible pain as he was rolling on the ground.

Our friends turned back to Perseus to look at him shocked he was alive, but he didn't appear to be doing too well, as he was on his knees breathing heavily. "Kill the bastard" he growled out to them.

Hazel seemed to be the only one shocked enough by his order to actually do anything and threw her heavy Calvary sword at the giant which sliced him in half before he burst in to dust and dissolved. Only for Perseus to collapse shortly afterwards which was enough to get Thalia and I moving.
