Chapter 6: Thalia is Still Impatient. AM NOT PERCY.

Percy's POV:

I woke up to Thalia and Annabeth attempting to shove me off the bed.

"Come on, get up," Annabeth said

"Breakfast in 5, and after that, we have our spar with Artemis," Thalia added.

"Ok, ok," I said, rolling off the bed, not realizing they had me on the edge of the bed. "Ouch"

"Well, he's up now, Annie," Thalia said.

"Come on, get dressed, Percy," Annabeth semi-whined, "we're hungry."

"Ok," I said, moving to go get dressed quickly.

"CHILDREN BREAKFAST" mom yelled.

Annabeth and Thalia immediately left as I was stuck putting my pants on.

I rushed out immediately after finishing getting dressed.

"Did you three have fun last night?" mom asked.

Thalia and Annabeth blushed, and I was confused.

"I'm just messing with you all. Now come eat so we can have our spar, and I can get you three to camp," she said

"We're heading back today," Annabeth asked.

"You heard your mother last night," Mom replied as Thalia and myself started digging in.

Annabeth resigned herself and started eating as well.

"I know it's earlier than I planned, but I hope you all don't mind," mom added. We originally planned to head back tomorrow after everyone else usually arrives.

"I guess it's good," Thalia said, "I mean, we get to see if Clarisse changed sooner."

"Ah yes," Mom said, "the daughter of Ares is very pissed at the oracle's father."

It did take a while to finish eating, though. We did want to spend time with mom, after all.

"You kids ready," mom asked.

Thalia pulled out her shield and spear, while Annabeth pulled out her two knives. I expected her to use a dagger and knife, but oh well. I ended up pulling out Riptide and Blackbeard's cutlass.

"Choosing your best weapons, I see," Mom said and immediately went after Annabeth.

Thalia and I were a little upset we weren't attacked first but quickly joined Annabeth and started our attack.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel this spar is more challenging than any previous one with mom. It's even harder to keep track of her.

Mom, though, knew she was at a disadvantage as it was three against one. So she sent a kick at Thalia, who blocked it with her shield, but it sent her sliding back on her butt.

Of course, Thalia started sending lightning strikes at mom, which were dodged, and she backed off from Annabeth and me.

"Thalia, stop. You'll just tire yourself," Annabeth yelled.

Thalia reluctantly did so and rejoined us.

"Impressive, Thalia," mom taunted, "you listened to your strategists."

Thalia was a little pissed at that but surprisingly didn't start throwing lightning again. However, she did charge with her shield raised and spear at the ready.

Annabeth and I reluctantly followed Thalia as we would have to stick together to win.

This time, however, Thalia was swatted away by mom.

"Ouch," Thalia said as she landed a few feet off the side with a thud.

Luckily for Thalia, Annabeth and I were close enough to present a threat so that mom couldn't head off and take her out of the fight.

However, now Annabeth and I were at a disadvantage. Mom was the foremost master of knives. Far better than anyone else on Olympus with them. Mainly because of her speed and style of fighting. So any advantage Annabeth would have from being up close with knives was eliminated, and mom's speed advantage eliminated my reach.

I swung at her legs with the cutlass, but mom jumped on the blade pinning it to the ground.

I groaned in annoyance as I had to quickly roll away to avoid being struck by moms training knives.

This resulted in Annabeth retreating, leaving Thalia on her own, who was just getting up.

I did the only thing I could think of possibly working, even if only for a few microseconds. I drew my shield, which caused mom to hesitate for just a tiny second allowing Annabeth and myself to reposition for an attack and for Thalia to get up.

"Stupid shield," mom mumbled as she shook her head to get back into the fight.

I smirked at her. "You never said we couldn't change weapons," I responded as Annabeth and I started attacking, allowing Thalia to regain her bearings.

"I think I have a concussion," Thalia mumbled, stumbling a bit towards the fight, seemingly attempting to join in.

"Well, you shouldn't charge aimlessly then," Annabeth responded, blocking one of my mother's knives as I deflected the other.

"And if you didn't, we could have just won," I added, as Annabeth and I had our blades locked with moms'.

"Funny. You think you can beat me," mom chuckled.

The next thing I knew, I was on the ground, as were Thalia and Annabeth.

Good thing for me. I was furthermost away, while Thalia was closest. Annabeth and I got up only to see mom barely draw blood from Thalia. "Now you're down to two," she taunted.

I took a deep breath to calm myself before rushing to Annabeth. "What the Hera was that" Annabeth mumbled

"I don't know," I responded. I knew it had to do something with her powers, but I'm not sure what she did.

"Percy, use your powers, all of them. Spear," Annabeth instructed

Honestly, I had no better plans as I sheathed Riptide and pulled out the spear I made with Zoë.

Annabeth started attacking mom again as I drew in all the powers I had access to into my spear. It wouldn't take long, but it would take a short second.

As lightning, fire, water, sun, and moonlight imbued themselves into the spear, Annabeth was forced to roll out of my mother's way.

I rushed over to help Annabeth face my mom, who had seemingly gone god mode, not true form but what you would expect a god-trained. Oh, gods, Diana has entered the battle.

Dianna, who is also technically my mother like Artemis, is a much better close-range fighter than Artemis. I now realize what sent us all to the ground. It was mom becoming my other mother and Diana not having a qualm about possibly hurting us by releasing her aura of power.

I should have recognized it as mom was fighting Annabeth with a more Roman style.

She looked at us as if she was just toying with her food. "Come on, children. You outnumber me. Surely you ought to have no chance," mom taunted.

Like my mother, I hardened my look and became more serious and focused on the task, which she looked at with slight approval.

"Who shall I eliminate first" she started pondering in a taunt, "the strategist or my assassin, son."

"Woah Woah Woah, time out," Thalia called from the sidelines, "since when is Percy an assassin."

"He hasn't told you of some of his sisters he has brought to the hunt," Diana purred. "Treated their abusers to a treatment my hunters would give them," mom added and started circling Annabeth and me.

"We're gonna talk about this later," Annabeth said.

"No, no, no," Thalia said

"We're in the middle of something now," Annabeth responded as mom took her opportunity to attack us.

I did my best to protect Annabeth from both knives, but I could only stop one of her knives, and Annabeth just missed blocking the one I missed getting a slight cut.

"A shame I was only able to get one of you," Mom taunted, leaving me alone to fight her.

There's no point in defense. The only chance of victory is offense. I dropped my shield.

"Accepting defeat, my child," mom said, "that's so unlike you."

Good thing that worked because I started my attack with my spear alone, which caught her off guard as I wasn't necessarily a fan of using only a spear.

She moved to block my strike with both of her knives. 'Huh,' I thought to myself, as I only expected her to use one knife.

As I made contact with her knives, I channeled my power and the power imbued into my spear to her blades.

Mom immediately dropped the knives, and one of her arms was numbed as she let it hang loosely.

"My training knives" Mom yelled as I looked to where her knives fell to see that one was slightly melted and the other was severely deformed.

Oh shit, I am either dead or grounded for life. She loved those knives.

Oh well. I might as well get one victory in before that. I started attacking again, but mom was holding me off with just one arm while trying to roll her other arm awake.

I realized my opportunity and dropped the spear, summoning my hunting knives to strike.

The good thing about two is that it is harder to block both with only one arm. Mom stopped my dominant blade but could not defend against the other as it drew blood.

"By the gods," Thalia stated

Annabeth, however, seemed to file away the result of me using the powers I used.

I, however, immediately sat on my butt, wishing for sleep to overtake me.

"You three have done well," Mom said, reverting to Artemis and tending to us medically.

"Though I'm disappointed about my training knives."

"Sorry, mom," I mumbled, spreading out on the ground.

"Surrrrrreeeee you are," mom purred, tending to Thalia and Annabeth first.

"Now about the assassin thing," Annabeth asked.

I saw mom look slightly surprised for the slimmest of seconds. "Percy, I'm sorry. I"

"It's alright, mom," I replied, "I should have told them already, come to think of it. But they haven't asked before."

Mom was thinking. "tell them why I called you that as well. You have my permission," she said as she walked to me to tend to me medically.

"The..." I started thinking about the Roman gods.

"Yes"

"Wouldn't it be better to tell them after the war?" I asked.

"Tell us what after," Thalia and Annabeth asked.

"The one secret I would have to keep from you. The secret that belongs to the gods," I said

"It would be better to tell them after the war," mom said

"No, tell us now," Thalia complained.

"It will only distract you," Mom said, "for now, focus on the war, and Percy will explain the assassin thing after the war as well."

"Promise," Annabeth asked.

"I swear on the Styx that I will tell you both after this war and when we are in private," I swore, which seemed to settle their nerves a little bit.

"Just to be clear, though," Thalia started, "you don't kill anyone not deserving, right, and not at random," She asked.

"That would be correct."

"Can you tell us who you've killed?" Annabeth asked.

I looked to mom, who nodded, "my sisters are of various ages. Some have joined recently, like Bianca" I started.

"Your point being," Thalia said

"I'm getting there," I replied, " you also know I'm also Hestia's champion."

"Yes," Annabeth said

"Well, some of the newer hunters are demigods," I said, "demigods that milady sent me to retrieve because of their situation and myself being nearby."

"And," Thalia asked

"They were being abused," I said, "one worse than the other two I've retrieved."

"What did you do," Annabeth asked, concerned.

"The two, quickly sent to Hades," I replied, "the other," I said, letting out a light chuckle, which unnerved them, and mom, "deserved so much worse than what I gave to him."

"Which was," Mom said

"After I made sure she was safe, mom, I went back and made him plead for death," I said. "It got to the point where Thanatos showed up and asked me to finish him," I said, my head down, as this wasn't my best moment, as I've only told my mother and sisters that they were dead. I've never told them of this pig's death well, except Zoë. She was the only one I informed.

"Do you regret it?" Thalia asked.

"Regret killing him how I did," I questioned.

Annabeth nodded

"Honestly, no," I answered, "what he was doing when I arrived sent me over the edge."

"Which was," Mom asked.

"He was attempting to force himself on her," I answer. I don't think mom knew, as this sister of mine doesn't like talking about her past. But, I suppose it's a good thing in her case. Better to let it die than dwell on it, I guess.

"How old was she," Thalia and Annabeth asked

"When she joined the hunt, she was 9," Mom said. Hmm, I guess she does know who I'm talking about, "she would be twelve at the end of the year"

Thalia looked pissed, and Annabeth, well, she looked a little sick.

"Was he her father?" Thalia asked.

"Stepfather," I said, "her mom died the year prior. I don't know how, but I suspect the pig had something to do with it."

"That's enough gruesomeness for now," Mom said, stopping the conversation about the three mortals I've sent to Hades. "I need to get you three to camp after all."

With that, we gathered up around mom for her to teleport us to camp.
