I wake up in Toby's room, in his arms. I grab my phone and see a spam of notifications mostly from my Instagram fan account, my parents, Sarah, and Hayden in the group text saying that he called it. I look at the time. 5:00! Shit! There's school today and I ended up sleeping here! Great and I need to sneak out of here and into my house to get ready. I grab my jacket, my phone, and Toby's car keys(which I of course will return) and put my hand on the door handle when Toby's alarm goes off. Damn it! He sat up, turned on the light and said,"Melody? What are you doing?" "Well I woke up and it was 5:00 and I had to leave and get ready and stuff but you were still asleep so I was just gonna borrow your car and-" He cut me off,"You realize I can get you there faster than a car can right." He smirked and stood up. "Yeah right. Like you could outrun a car or something." "Just stop talking and come here." I walked over to where he was standing, by his window. He snaked his arms around my waist and said,"Hold on tight." Then he did the stupidest thing ever! He freaking jumped out of the window.I wrapped my arms around his neck quickly so I wouldn't fall to my death. I prepared to die as we neared the ground when we started going up. We were flying. This is not possible in any way. Then again I didn't think demigods were real and they are. "You can fly and you never told me?! Next thing you're gonna have Lincoln powers," I said sarcastically over the wind blowing in our faces. He turned to look at me, the moon which was still up, shining in his eyes. "Well I kinda do have Lincoln powers." I turned my face to him and stared at him in shock. "You what?" He laughed. "My dad's son of Jupiter/Zeus remember." "Oh yeah," I paused,"Wait then why don't I have some kind of water powers?!" "Maybe you do but you just don't know it yet," he said as my house came into view. Toby set us down on my rooms balcony. "Well this was fun, Zappy," I said. He frowned and said,"Zappy? Where'd that come from?" I smirked. "Well you said you have powers like Lincoln's and I can't call you sparkplug because that IS Lincoln so you're Zappy." He laughed and said,"Yeah ok-" He stopped talking when we felt something shaking under our feet. "Don't tell me you can do that too, Zappy," I said sarcastically. A look of shock was still on Toby's face. "That's not me," he said,"Melody I think it's you." I brought my hands up and looked at them. "How is this even possible? My dad is son of Poseidon. Poseidon is the god of the ocean," I said, remembering that's not all that he is the god of. "Ocean and earthquakes," I muttered. Toby's face was filled with confusion and shock. "What?" "Poseidon. He's the god of the ocean and earthquakes," I stated. The shaking wouldn't stop and I didn't know how to stop it. I looked down at my hands hoping something would happen or that the shaking would stop, but nothing happened. I could feel tears springing in my eyes. I was seriously scared. I can't control this, I thought. Just then the the door burst open and my parents ran out onto my balcony, weapons in hand ready to fight a monster. My dad looked shocked when a monster wasn't there. "What's happening? Why is it shaking," my dad asked. "It's," I started,"It's-" "Just tell them. Everything is going to be fine. You CAN control this," Toby whispered to me. I looked up at him and nodded as I turned my gaze to my parents. "It's me. The shaking. It's me," I said,"And I don't know how to make it stop." "Melody, concentrate on making it stop. Think of just that," my mom said to me. I closed my eyes and focused everything on stopping this earthquake or whatever was happening. It didn't stop though. "It's not working," I said, tears starting to fall down my face. "Concentrate on just that. Think of just that," she said. Once again I tried and eventually it stopped. I looked up at all three of the people around me. I ran and jumped into Toby's arms and hugged him. "I knew you could do it," he whispered in my ear.
