[Twenty]

"Oh Shit!" the young lady cursed under her breath. Some coins dropped from her purse that she was clutching loosely to her side. They rolled over the soft grass and landed near the wooden fence that spanned the middle of the town.

She tried to scurry, but her heels and pencil skirt prevented her from making larger strides to catch up with the money her mother gave her earlier that day. Besides, it wasn't lady-like at all to be seen running, so she'd just have to make do with the small steps that decorum allowed her.

As she got nearer to the railing, the woman bent down and picked up fifteen won. It was then she spied some movement out of the corner of her eye. Upon closer inspection, she saw two silhouettes under the bridge locked in a passionate embrace. They were both men.

She held back a gasp, trying not to arouse suspicion. The townsfolk would have a field day if she imparted some juicy news. But first, she must find out who they were. To give credibility to her story, she fished her Nikon camera out of her bag and waited patiently until she's able to see the men's faces.

She was rewarded a glance after one of them pulled from the embrace. The woman focused her camera on the men and pressed the button. Puzzled, she put the eyepiece again close to her face and zoomed towards the bridge.

"Oh, no!" the female gasped, covering her mouth. She recognized one man. His chiselled jawline was all too familiar as it occasionally appeared in her dreams. It was Jung-kook.

Min-A could hardly believe her eyes. No, it couldn't be. She must have been mistaken. Jung-kook, the quiet, aloof boy sitting at the back of their Korean Literature class. Jung-kook, arguably the most handsome guy at school. Jung-kook, the only son of the noble Jeon household. That Jung-kook.

It was when Min-A first laid sight on Jung-kook, walking around the halls of the prestigious university, that she had decided he would be her future husband. No question about it.

Her parents had placed her there for a reason: they had hoped that she would find a partner whose family (the richer, the better) would take their daughter in so they would not have to worry about her fate (and theirs). Min-A chose Jung-kook because he looked like a pliable man who can succumb to her whims.

What would she do now with this knowledge as her plans shattered into pieces? All of this, because of another boy, whom she thought had undeservingly stolen her husband away from her clutches.

Min-A scrunched up her nose with a look of determination on her face. There would be hell to pay.
