Blood?! Anton!

Mia walked angrily in the cold of the night. She was so enraged.

'How dare he insult my parents of not raising me right?'

She made an abrupt stop and rested her back on the wall. Her breathing was ragged and she knew that she had to catch her breath or else she might pass out.
As her breathing gradually returned to normal, she regretted not punching him in the face. She pushed herself forward from the wall and landed a hard punch on it with her right fist.
The pain that followed stung, but she ignored it. Her fist was bruised badly and blood sipped through slowly.

It was and had been a long while that anyone angered her this much. She figured that she had let her guard down that's why it vexed her so much.

She questioned herself on what she had expected from him. What did she ever expect from a low-life like him.
What did she expect from a man who was filthy rich? Had she forgotten that they had no heart and only focused on increasing their net worth?

She continued walking till she got to the highway, which was almost empty; only a few cars went by. At this point she had relaxed a little. Deciding to relax more by walking for a while, she continued.

"Is that who I think it is?" Mr Jones asked his goons sitting at the front seat.

"That is Natasha Donald, the one who came with Mr Hugh to your party, sir"

"Hmm, I wonder why she's out here so late at night" he mused.

"Go get her" he ordered suddenly after having some thoughts.

"Sir?"

"Why do you look so shocked? If this lady could beat you all like children, I would either have her work for me or if she refuses, I would keep her in my custody and make Anton do as I say."

"But she's his chef, I don't think he will do as you say all just because you have her"

"Quiet you fool. Don't open your mouth if nothing sensible is going to come out of it. Can't you see or can't you calculate? Who of his status would bring a mere chef to a party if nothing was attached? And look at her closely, looks like they had a fight."

"You're right sir"

"I know that. Now park the car anywhere void of surveillance cameras and go get her, make sure not to be caught by any camera."

"Understood sir"

Mia's deep thoughts were interrupted when she felt her arms in someone's control. The two goons held each of her arm tightly in fear that she might get away.

Mia sighed deeply and breathed out annoyed. She was not ready for this at the moment.

"I'm not ready for this right now, so be kind to yourselves and let me be"

"You have to come with us"

"It's like you didn't hear me. Are you deaf or something?"

"Could you just shut your mouth hole and co-operate with us. We don't want to hurt you, the boss wants to talk"

"And I don't want to. Is that a problem? Tch! This is getting annoying. Let go of me right this instant if you don't want to taste my anger"

"I guess you leave us no choice but to use force"

Before they could even attempt to pull her, she flipped over backwards, instantly pulling her arms from their hold and giving them a split kick.

She was already annoyed and they made it worse. So lucky for her and unlucky for them, she was going to use this opportunity to vent out her anger.

As they tried to steady their balance after getting up, she launched at them, punched one in the gut and the other on the side. Without any mercy, she turned the one punched in gut; Spike, and sat on his stomach.

"Long time, no see friend" she smirked and started raining punches on his face, which he tried to defend but couldn't.
Tony came to help out by pulling her hair from behind. She held his neck and pulled him over her, forcing him to fall on Spike's face which broke his nose. She stood up and gave Tony a powerful kick that dislocated his jaw.

"Don't ever appear in front of me, if you don't want to die" she warned and walked away.

Mr Jones watched from his car, gobsmacked and wide-eyed.
He kept questioning himself if what he saw was real. If it was, then this lady was not in the least ordinary, she just brought down two of his best guards in less than three minutes.

He saw a figure from the side of his eye and when he turned to the side completely, his mouth hung open.

"Isn't that Mr Hugh?" He questioned himself.

"Spike! Tony! Get in here now. Hugh Anton is here" he announced to them through the wireless earphones.

They helped each other up, and struggled to get their wounded selfs into the car and drove off, despite the pain.

Anton jogged, ran and walked in search of Mia. He really needed to apologize to her. His heart felt so cramped and maybe disgusted of him.

He took few seconds to breathe every now and then as he felt guilt popping up in his heart.
He realized that he had reached the highway sooner than imagined, but the bad news was that Mia was no where to be found.

As he thought of given up and retreating, he saw a figure like hers at a good distance.
He forgot about catching his breath and ran to her, slowly catching up with her from behind.

She stopped. Evidently annoyed.

"Didn't I warn you not to approach me if you don't want to die. You..."

Her arm froze immediately she saw him. She had thought it was the goons of earlier but it was him.
From her wrist to his face, her eyes swung. She didn't know what to do; 'Should I just go ahead and punch him?', but looking at his face, she couldn't.

She groaned as she dropped her hand to her side. Throwing a stern glare at him, she began walking away.

"Nat?"

"Don't call me that!" She yelled and continued walking.

"Natasha, I'm sorry. Give me a chance to explain myself"

"Can you leave me alone?"

Anton couldn't believe that he was the one so desperate to get someone's forgiveness. It was usually the other way around.

He held her hand which caused her to halt then he walked around to stand in front of her. As their eyes locked, Mia saw the sincerity in his and her anger started melting away.

"I had a rough day at work, a very important contract was cancelled. I was vexed because of the fact that no one had ever cancelled a contract with any of my companies for a long time now. And then when you didn't show up at the time scheduled, I was worried but when I saw you I coupled my worry with the cancelled contract anger and said things I shouldn't have.
I am really sorry for saying those mean things I said about your parents. Honestly, if it was me, I would have reacted worse than you did.
I apologize Natasha."

Mia looked into his eyes as they reflected the street lights. His eyes held sincerity in them, and they were compelling her to forgive him.

Already, her anger had gradually died down immediately he apologized.
She wasn't one to forgive so quickly otherwise she wouldn't have come to work for him as a ploy for vengeance, but he made her want to do so.

She turned away from him and focused her gaze on the almost empty highway, illuminated by the streetlights that stood so high up. She breathed out quietly as she tried to steady her emotions.

Looking at him directly in the eyes for this seconds that felt like hours, her heart was beating rapidly without rhythm. She was so nervous as she prayed that he couldn't hear it.

With her face still turned away from him, she breathed out quietly through her mouth in an attempt to calm her frantic heart, and when she thought it was working, he appeared in front of her.

"I apologize Nat. Can you forgive me?"

'Why was he so good looking and sincere?' she thought and smiled inwardly but became nervous again when she felt her heart trying to jump out of her chest.

This was new to her. Her heart had never threatened her like it was doing now. She wondered if he could hear it.

She turned away from him and started walking away, hoping her heart would stop this drum roll if she was away from him.
She reasoned how humorous it was that few minutes ago, she wanted to murder him or maybe destroy his face but now what she felt within was different.

"Nat" he called, the desperation for her forgiveness could be heard in his voice.

Again with that nickname, her heart literally skipped a bit. She had grown to like him calling her that and it felt so distant and strange to her when he called her 'name' fully.

"Nat please" he called as the distance between them grew wider as she continued taking steps forward, ignoring his pleas.

She didn't want to ignore him but she had to calm her heart first.

"Nat" This time he tried taking a step towards her as he watched her retreating figure but he couldn't. His legs felt weak and his body felt strange.

"Nat" she continued forward.

"Nat!"

Her heart calmed down only a little even with her funny attempt to massage her chest.
She had covered much distance when she realized that Anton hadn't called out to her.

'Did he get tired already?' she thought with a scoff and continued walking.

After taking six steps, she couldn't help but acknowledge the unsettling feeling in her heart that something wasn't right.

She turned back but didn't see him. Lowering her eyes a little, she saw him on the cold ground.
Without a second thought, she picked up her heels and ran towards him.

The sight she meant was disturbing and heart clenching.
Blood sipped through his mouth as he laid face down.

"Blood? Anton?!" She shrieked when she turned him over.
