An unusual match

"Where's Mia?" James asked huskily.

Dixon's eyes travelled from the blade to the face of who held it.
He breathed roughly in relief.

"You scared life out of me Mia"

"Well life wasn't scared enough to run out of you so sadly you're still alive" she said nonchalantly as she lowered the knife.

"Geez. I really hate you"

"That makes two of us, or maybe mine's more"

With knowledge of the consequences attached, Dixon moved quickly and hugged her.

"I missed you"

"Get off me punk, I thought you just said you hated me"

"It's possible to hate you and still miss you at the same time"

"Tch. Get off me you big baby" she said and wiggled away from his hold.

"I never thought I'd see you again without a prison uniform"

"You..." She gritted and kicked his side.

"Can you not hit me for once?"

"You make it hard to do so"

James giggled as he watched their banter.

"Hi James" Mia waved as she collected a bottled water from the refrigerator.

"Hello Mia, how've you been?"

"I've been okay except for your brother. What about you?"

"I'm okay" he replied with a laugh and Dixon glared at him.

Minutes later, she left the kitchen to check up on Luther who was still oblivious to her arrival.

She entered the room stealthy and met him working on his laptop, his headphones on. Slowly, she went behind him and placed a knife on his throat.
He panicked until he saw her reflection on his laptop's screen.

He breathed in relief and she laughed lightly.

"Mia why would you do that? I almost died from anxiety" he said and pulled off his headphones.

"You're anxious for no reason. Have you forgotten that no one has the right to point a knife at you expect me?"

He laughed and placed his hand on his heart which was beating rapidly.

"When did you get back?"

"A few minutes ago"

"I thought something made you change your mind. Now that you've resigned what do you plan to do?"

She drew a chair and sat facing him.
There was no time for playing when it came to Luther.

"I didn't resign Luther"

"Why?"

"Apparently I have to wait till I get a replacement?"

"How long?"

"I don't know"

"Okay. Now that you know that it isn't Anton, what do you plan to do? How do you find the real killer?"

"I'm also confused, I have no other hunches or suspect. He was the only one"

"You never told me why Anton was your suspect"

"Anton was my suspect but I can't tell you why now, because it feels embarrassing and I'm not even sure myself"

"Okay, if you say so"

"I say so. I'll go freshen up, you guys prepare, let's go out for a bit"

"Do you mean that?"

"Of course, and don't even think about refusing"

"I wasn't planning to. Also I missed you"

"Ugh. So disgusting" She said as she walked out of the room.

"It's said 'I missed you too'"

"I'll pull your tongue out" she glared at him while holding the door knob.

"Sorry" he said with two hands up.

"Tell Dixon to prepare, and James too, if he's coming along"

They walked under the streetlights as they sipped their coffee of different types.

Dixon and James walked in front discussing and laughing while Mia and Luther walked behind quietly.

"When are you going back?" Luther asked breaking the fragile silence.

"Tonight"

"I meant what time?"

"I don't really know but soon. I have to see something before I go"

"What?"

She smirked and rolled her eyes.

"No"

"Like I'd listen to you"

He sighed because he knew it was true.

"Ugh. You're still so dirty"

"I never said I'd change, did I?"

"I would get sick if I watch that"

"I never asked you to come with me"

"No way I would let you go there alone"

"I think I should call you Grandma instead of Dixon or maybe Grandpa. Which do you prefer?"

"None. Let's go, I'll come with you"

"If you throw up, don't identify with me, okay?"

"Okay"

"You'll have to take a taxi because you can't bring you're car and obviously you won't get on my motorcycle"

"I think I know that already"

"Good for you" she said and handed him her empty coffee cup as she jogged towards the two at the front.

"I and Luther will head somewhere, so I'll see you later"

"Where are you headed"

"None of you business"

Luther quickly flagged down a taxi and got in before Dixon could ask him any questions. Mia followed by hopping on her bike and zooming off.

"Where are they going to?" James asked out of curiosity.

"I'm not sure but I have ideas"

As they walked down the stairs, they whole place was bustling with shouts, cheers, music, groans, grunts, hands hitting metal and stinked of sweat and people.

"I feel sick already" Luther mused, his hands on his stomach.

"I never forced you to come" Mia spoke loudly with an obvious eye roll, over the noise.

"I was not in my right state of mind when I made this decision" he whispered to himself.

Mia was so engrossed as she watched the illegal wrestling match with half of her face covered with a bandana. She might be identified as Anton's chef and how was she to explain what a CEO's chef was doing at an underground wrestling match.

She knew that a high percentage of the people here had little or no time to care about what happens in the elite world, but she couldn't take her chances.

The intense fight was over and the opponent was being helped out almost lifeless.

The winner by name Tyle grunted facing all directions.

"Who wants to fight me? Who can beat me? No one. If you can get in here" he screamed while hitting his chest the baboon's way.

"No one can beat me, I'm the best. No one can..."

"How about I try?" Mia said as the door was held open for her by the guards, though it took a lot of convincing for them to let her in.

People stared in awe, some pitied her, some laughed, others concluded it would be a lame match but reality took the stage.
Luther's eyes was wide open in disbelief as he saw her in the cage, but he knew she would never listen to him of he even tried talking her out of it so he held himself and stood to watch, also knowing that it was going to be a fierce battle.

Bets fell mostly on Tyle, only a few placed their bets on Mia.

Mia knew how to take care of herself and her opponent well enough. She tightened her bandana around her face and the match started.

"Come on, I can't fight with a weakling"
Tyle humored and laughter arose from the crowd.

Immediately he turned from the crowd to face her, she landed her first punch on his right cheek. The impact of the punch plus being unexpected caused a cut in Tyle's mouth and blood poured out.

'Mehn! That felt good' she thought as she wriggled her fingers urging him to attack.

The crowd's laughter died down and everyone became silent from surprise.

Coupled with his bruised pride and injury, rage rose within him and he started his attack, desperately.
She let him attack and focused on defense but he missed all his attacks and was frustrated as well as becoming weak, then she began her attack.

First, an unexpected and also heavy punch landed on his nose, blood followed. Without wasting time or giving Tyle time to catch his breath or straighten up, she kicked his two legs off the ground and he landed heavily on his chest.
The audience cheered and the heat was back on the crowd. Luther only pitied Tyle; he pitied him for mistaking Mia as a normal lady because she was far from that.

He staggered up blood dripping from his mouth and nose. With anger he so desperately tried to land a punch on her left cheek, but she dodged swiftly holding his arm in the process, she twisted it till he screamed in pain but she wasn't done yet.

She let go of his arm and quickly surrounded her arms around his waist then threw him over her shoulder causing him to fall on his side and dislocate his right shoulder.

The crowd cheered and Tyle felt humiliation and pain. He tried to hold her leg and pull her down with his left hand but she held the hand twisted it and stepped on it forcefully.

She turned him to face upward, sat on his stomach and scattered his face with punches from both sides.

The crowd was in an uproar as they kept hitting on the metal cage as a hype.

The match was done and over and Tyle was being helped out almost unconscious. Others wanted to fight her but she refused and stepped out.

She was called to collect her share of the bets but she told them she didn't need it and walked away. She gave an eye signal to Luther, indicating that he should not follow her because if he did he might become a target.

As she took the first stair up, someone approached her.

"Nice match and nice moves"

She turned around but didn't say anything.

"I'm guessing you don't talk much. Let me get to the point. How'd you like to be recruited by a well paying source?"

"I'm not interested in your gang" she said and began to walk out.

"How did you know I run a gang?"

"I'm not interested in this conversation. Can you go away?"

"I'm just curious"

She stopped suddenly and faced him, startling him in the process.

"Take your curiosity elsewhere" she barked at him.
She made to continue walking but he held her bandana and pulled it down to her nose before she held his hand. She held his fingers and twisted them until she heard the crackling sound indicating that she had successfully broken some bones and she punched him on the ear.

His ear ringed while she walked away pulling her mask up.

"What a lowlife" she said as she got out.

As she dried her hair with a towel, the thought of Anton crossed her mind.

'What was he doing now?'

She picked up her phone to check the time and was surprised by what she saw.

It was 11:49pm. The time wasn't the surprise but that she had six missed calls from Anton. This was the third time he had called her since she started working for him. He had only called to tell her what he would like to eat but six missed calls? Something wasn't right.
