(ANNA POV)

A few days later Jake and I are at Billy's working on his motorcycle. We are laughing and having a good time before we hear footsteps. Sam walks into the shed. Sam and Jake then shake hands as they basically call a truce. I smile and pull Sam into a hug. I've actually missed the pack a lot. Renesmee was growing really fast. She looked anywhere between a 7 to 12-year-old. Jake and I had gone to visit along with Seth. It had started snowing so we were out in a field with Renesmee and Bella. Seth and Jake were phased as Bella and I played with Renesmee.

"Look, a snowflake," Renesmee says as she walks over to us with a snowflake in her hand.

"It's beautiful," I tell her as Bella and I smile at her.

"Why don't you go get another one?" Bella asks her. Renesmee nods before running off. "Edward thinks that we'll find answers in Brazil. There are tribes there that might know something." Bella and I stand between Jake and Seth. We all watch as Renesmee jumps high into the air to catch a snowflake. Renesmee hurries over to us as we catch sight of someone up on the mountain.

"Who was that?" Renesmee asks as she grabs onto Seth's leg and Bella walks forward.

"I think that's our cousin from Denali," Bella answers and Seth growls lightly. "Irina!" Irina then runs away and Bella chases after her. Seth lays down and I help Renesmee onto his back before I climb onto Jake's back. They then take off back to the Cullen's. Bella arrives back at the same time we did. We head inside and tell the others. Edward sits at the piano with Renesmee and Bella stands near them. Carlisle calls Tanya to see if they know anything.

"Tanya convinced Irina to come reconcile with us," Carlisle says after he gets off of the phone.

"It looks like she changed her mind," Edward says.

"Seeing Jacob and Seth must have been too much for her," Esme suggests.

"Wish I could have just spoken to her," Bella says.

"She's family. She'll come around," Carlisle says before he wraps an arm around Esme. Edward starts showing Renesmee how to play the piano. Bella leans against the piano to watch. Eventually, Carlisle and Esme start playing chess. Jake comes up and wraps his arm around my waist which I lean into him as we watch Renesmee. Seth comes to stand between Bella and I. Emmett and Rosalie are on the other side of the piano watching as well. Jasper is sitting on the couch as he reads a book. Alice then walks into the room with a vase of flowers in her hands. She gasps and goes into a vision. I read her mind as she does. There's snow and people in black cloaks. Alice then comes back and drops the vase which shatters on the floor. Jasper quickly closes his book and is at her side in an instant as we all stare at her.

"What is it, Alice?" Jasper asks. Esme and Carlisle stand up and Bella walks towards Renesmee a little bit.

"The Volturi. They're coming for us. Aro, Caius, Marcus, the Guard. And Irina," Alice answers and I feel Jake's hold on my waist tighten some.

"Honey, come here," Bella tells Renesmee before holding her close.

"Why?" Carlisle asks.

"What did Irina see in the woods?" Edward also asks.

"We were just walking," Bella answers.

"Ness was catching snowflakes," Seth says.

"Of course. Irina thinks Renesmee's an immortal Child," Edward says. Bella and I share a confused look. Rosalie takes Renesmee to go play while the rest of us gather around to figure out what is going on.

"The Immortal Children were very beautiful. So enchanting. To be near them was to love them. But their development was frozen at the age they were turned. They couldn't be taught or restrained. A single tantrum could destroy an entire village. Humans heard about the devastation. Stories spread. The Volturi were forced to intervene. Since the Children couldn't protect our secret, they had to be destroyed. Their creators grew very attached and fought to protect them. Long-established covens were torn apart. Countless humans slaughtered. Traditions, friends, even families. Lost," Carlisle explains as Bella looks at a book.

"So the Denalis' mother made an Immortal Child?" Bella asks.

"Yes. And she paid the price," Carlisle answers.

"Well, Renesmee's nothing like those children," Bella says.

"She was born, not bitten. She grows every single day," I add on.

"So can't you just explain that to the Volturi?" Seth asks as he worries about Renesmee.

"Aro has enough proof in Irina's thoughts," Edward answers him.

"So we fight," Jake says.

"Their offensive weapons are too powerful. No one can stand against Jane," Jasper explains.

"Alec's even worse," Alice adds.

"Well, then we convince them," Bella says.

"They're coming to kill us, not to talk," Emmett says.

"No, you're right. They won't listen to us," Edward says and I catch on to what he is getting at.

"But maybe others can convince them," I say and Edward nods in agreement.

"Carlisle, you have friends all around the world," Edward says.

"I won't ask them to fight," Carlisle argues.

"Not fight. Witness. If enough people knew the truth, maybe we could convince the Volturi to listen," Edward explains.

"We can ask this of our friends," Esme says. We all plan where we are going. Alice and Jasper stay very secretive. Jake, Seth, and I end up falling asleep. It is decided that Jake and I will go with Bella, Renesmee, and Edward much to Seth's dismay. Seth is to stay and watch the woods since new vampires will be in town.

"At least we get to go to London again. We haven't been there in a long time," Esme says to Carlisle as we all pack.

"Alright. Let's get this show on the road," Jake says as he walks up to me before he stiffens. We look outside to see Sam walking up to the house. We all walk outside to meet him. Jake and I stand beside Sam as he hands Carlisle a note.

"Alice asked me to give you that. She and Jasper crossed our lands to the ocean last night," Sam explains as Carlisle reads the note.

"Carlisle?" Esme asks as he finishes reading.

"They've left us," Carlisle answers.

"Why?" Rosalie asks.

"She didn't say," Carlisle answers.

"Can I see that?" Bella asks and Carlisle gives her the note. Jake and I thanked Sam for bringing the note before we all leave. Edward drove Bella, Renesmee, Jake, and I north to the Denalis'. We arrive and Edward gets out of the car first.

"Edward, is everything all right? Why didn't you tell us you were coming?" Tanya asks.

"Is it Irina?" Carmen asks. "Have you heard from her?"

"Not directly," Edward answers.

"Why are your bride and her sister waiting in the car?" Eleazar asks.

"And why have you brought a wolf with you? I can smell him from here," Kate asks.

"My family is in danger. I need your help," Edward says.

"What's happened?" Carmen asks.

"It's hard to explain but I need you to be open-minded. Can you do that?" Edward answers.

"Of course," Tanya answers and the others nod.

Bella then turns back to face us and Renesmee.

"Okay. Time to meet some new people," Bella says.

"What if they don't like me?" Renesmee asks and I grab her hand in reassurance.

"They'll love you," I tell her.

"They will. Once they understand you," Bella says.

"They just haven't met anyone like you before," Jake adds which makes me smile that he tries to help her feel better.

"Okay," Bella says. She and Jake get out of the car. I get out and walk around to Jake. Renesmee gets out and grabs Bella's and my hand as we walk forward. They all gasp in fear.

"The Volturi will come for all of us," Kate says as she grabs onto Tanya.

"You get that thing out of here," Tanya orders.

"She's not what she looks like," Edward tries.

"This is a crime!" Tanya yells as she runs forward and shoves Edward. Edward throws her to the ground. Kate grabs Edward and starts shocking him. Bella rushes forward and grabs Kate before throwing her away from Edward. Tanya and Kate go running at them again. I pull Renesmee up against me while Jake stands right behind me.

"Stay back!" Bella orders.

"She has blood in her veins. You can feel her warmth," Edward says.

"I can feel it," Carmen agrees.

"I'm her biological father. Bella is her mother," Edward explains.

"Impossible," Kate argues.

"It's true. She was born while I was still human," Bella says.

"I've never heard of such a thing," Eleazar says.

"She can show you if you let her," Edward says before Bella and he look back at Jake, Renesmee and me. I pick Renesmee up and Jake puts his hand on the small of my back as we walk forward. "Tanya, you owe us this much. We're all under a death sentence because your sister didn't let us explain." I walk up to Tanya with Jake behind me. Renesmee holds her hand out to touch Tanya's face.

"Don't be afraid. This is how she communicates," Bella explains before Renesmee touches Tanya's face.

"It's true. She's not immortal," Tanya says and the others walk forward. I could tell Jake was uneasy being around so many vampires. We then head back to Forks with the Denalis' following.
