I shook as everyone stared at me...i didn't want them to know...

"W-what happened to your hands?!" Amy was horrified as she stared at me, i didn't answer

"Sonic...who did that?" Knuckles asked almost afraid too, i still didn't answer

"Son-" i couldn't tell who was talking anymore as i shut them out, not on purpose, but because of my panic, i didn't want them to know...they didn't need to know!

"Sonic answer us!" Shadow's voice i heard as clear as day and it snapped me out of my panic, when i looked up he was there, holding me by my shoulders...why did he call me by that name...? 

"Wha-?" i was confused on why he was holding me so firmly, i saw him sigh as if in relief, i kept my eyes on him as he let me go, i felt liquid dripping down my face and i realised i had been crying...but...why was i...?

"What got you so worked up?" he asked and it all fell back onto me as i looked down and let the tears continue "are you going to answer me?"

"....why do you care?" he blinked as if he had just been stabbed

"i don't know why....but please tell us what happened to your ha-" "Don't say it" "but why?" "It's personal" "we're trying to help" "I don't need your help!" "calm down" "Why?!" "Sonic!" he said it again and i couldn't help but fall silent as i looked at him "what happened?" he sighed

"It was my punishment..."everyone was quiet "My punishment for betraying The Doctor..."

{Shadow's pov}

i looked at him horrified, but i kept my stone cold face up, but i knew it was cracking open

"W-what?" Amy trembled as Sonic looked down

"i betrayed him 20 years ago...when i returned to his base without the files he needed from Charles to create an indestructible army, at the same time he had ordered me to kill his younger brother Jules and his girlfriend, now wife, but i didn't, yet Ivo doesn't know that...when he found out i hadn't gotten the files he was filled with rage and punished me by tying me down to a table and remake my hands..." Sonic explained as he looked down "it was painful and i can never forget what he did...he cut the skin off and then removed the flesh and built upon the existing metal rods that make up my bones, in the end i lost all feeling in them and the image of him doing it is burned into my mind...after that...i decided to listen to Jules advice and ran and never looked back, until the day i began fighting against him, he threatened to repeat it over and over again if i didn't follow his orders in the first battle again't him..."

everyone was horrified by the story they had been told, why would the doctor do that to him just for not getting those files

"W-what was in those files...?" i asked

"instructions to make more of us, Charles took them and ran after i was ordered to kill the other contestants that worked on my creation for G.U.N purposes"
