Feeling Ignored

L.A. was even better in person!

I stared out of the taxi cabs window.

The lights were shining and the city buzzed around us making it feel somewhat magical.

"Here will be fine." Shawn told the driver.

We pulled over to the side of the curb and Shawn paid the taxi driver, while I got my luggage from the trunk.

I was stopped once Shawn came over, as he took not only mine, but his own too.

We walked inside of the hotel close by.

"This is the hotel we'll be staying at. It's not much and definitely not the best, but it should do for a few nights." Shawn rambled on to me, he looked somewhat embarrassed.

"It's not much? I've never been inside of a hotel that is this nice! It's perfect." I assured him with a peck on his cheek.

"Alright, let's just check into our room and then hurry and get ready for Ed's party. It starts in about an hour, so we'll have to hurry." Shawn told me and I nodded.

We got our room and put all of our bags in there.

Shawn let me take the bathroom to change since it had a mirror, which gave me the advantage to do my makeup.

After getting dressed and finishing my makeup I walked out of the bathroom, only to see Shawn struggling with his tie.

I laughed and walked over to him.

"Looks like you need some help." I took the tie from him and started tying it.

It was a bit of a struggle since I was wearing my shoulder sling, but I managed.

"Thanks." He smiled.

"Are you ready to go? I can't wait for you to meet everyone!"

"Where's your cast for your wrist?" I asked him.

"My wrist is doing better so I'm taking it off for the party. You know, don't want to be wearing my cast when we take pictures with people." He rubbed his wrist.

I looked down at my sling, feeling like an idiot for having to wear it.

"Yeah, yeah, I get what you mean." I told him sarcastically, but Shawn didn't notice.

"Let's go so we'll get there on time." He opened the door for me and I walked out.

As we were on our way to the party Shawn rambled on about all the celebrities that were going to be at the party.

I pretended to be listening, when really I was lost in my own thoughts.

Shawn wasn't paying attention to me and it was kind of hurting my feelings.

Did he not even notice the pretty dress I was wearing?

Or maybe he was too distracted by the ugly sling I had to wear.

Did he not even think I was pretty?

I looked over at Shawn to see if he was looking at me, but he was too busy explaining something to even notice.
