ElmClan
The cats of ElmClan live in a lush maple forest near a river, although a part of their territory is part of the nearby mountain range. There's a mountain range that starts above the Clan's territory and the two places are separated by a small thunderpath. The border between CanyonClan and ElmClan is a stream (branching off from the OG river), and there's a large stone in the middle of it that cats use to cross the borders if needed. If you'd go in the opposite way from the river, you'll find ElmClan's scent markers that prevents rouges from entering their territory. The river, that comes from a large waterfall a short way up the mountains, serves as their border towards RapidClan who's apprentices and, sometimes reckless, warriors might wander away from their territory on their hunt for prey, to ElmClan and CanyonClan's annoyance. At this waterfall, there's a rocky path up the hillside that continues out of ElmClan's territory and leads to the Mist Cove. ElmClan medicine cats take advantage of the waterfall to gather certain herbs. (RapidClan comes down here!!!)
ElmClan cats mainly hunt forest prey, such as mice, birds and squirrels. They might hunt mountain prey in large groups, examples include hawks, kestrels and mountain lions, and they have certain ways to do this.
The cats of ElmClan most commonly have bracken-coloured pelts, or darker pelts ranging from light hazel to black. Their paws are a lot smaller than the other two Clans but they have thick furs, are broad-shouldered and have round heads. The cats are not as small as the ones of RapidClan, but something in between Canyon- and RapidClan. Their claws are sharper than the other Clans' to cling on to ex. branches if they're chasing squirrels or birds in trees, although the older cats don't do that a lot since they are too heavy for the thin branches. They are quiet and stealthy, this makes it easy for them to hunt in the forest they live in.
ElmClan's apprentices' main training area is called the Training Glade, it's a small clearing about 25 fox-lengths away from their camp, you will find it if you head towards the CanyonClan border. The clearing is covered in patches of grass and bare soil, but it also has a mud puddle on the edge and a few small trees in the middle, one of them has fallen over and is leaning towards the other trees. Some bushes line the edges of it, with a pathway through them acting as the main entrance to the Training Glade. The environment matches a lot of ElmClan's territory and so the apprentices can practise hunting crouches, battle moves and coordination here.
ElmClan has the territory with most herbs beside the river, with its waterfall and lush undergrowth. The herbs in the 'in forests' section can be found all over their territory, 'near mountains/waterfalls' can be located at the mountain bordering ElmClan to the east and waterfall there, the herbs that can be found 'anywhere' can, as the name tells you, be found all over the territory, the shore to the river bordering RapidClan is sunny and warm, so there are the 'sunny places' and 'near water' herbs. Some herbs near water can also be found at the CanyonClan border and small brooks throughout the forest.

CanyonClan
CanyonClan's territory is made of a dried-up canyon on ElmClan's side of the river, directly opposite RapidClan. Their territory is covered in stones and cliffs with nearly no greenery at all. Same as with the ElmClan border, there are a few steppingstones cats can use to get across the river. However, these stones are larger and there are more stones here than at the stream border. When you continue down the river and exit the canyon, you'll soon find a Twoleg house just outside of the Clan's boundaries where Twolegs come during green-leaf and leaf-fall. There grows some catmint here and CanyonClan's medicine cats are for once grateful that the Twolegs are here. Lining up quite good with ElmClan's rouge border, CanyonClan has their rouge border. Directly beside the river is CanyonClan's largest supply of herbs, mostly plants that grow near water, ex. thyme. As the ground becomes dryer, you'll find a few herbs better suited for dry places, but not a lot since the climate isn't ultimate for plants.
CanyonClan cats often hunt bobcats, but they also hunt reptiles, such as lizards and snakes. The kits and apprentices like to practise hunting with insects. (+ more animals that live in rocky terrains.)
CanyonClan is made up of sturdy, large cats that have sand coloured pelts and long claws. Their pelt is fluffier than the other Clans' and they are sometimes called 'fluffpaws' or 'softfighters' as an insult. They have a good sense of direction and are good at climbing and jumping over cliffs.

RapidClan
On the other side of this river, a little further down from ElmClan, we have RapidClan (later) who live by the part fo the river where the currents are very strong. Their territory is made out of a branch in the river that flows beside their camp and makes the ground much softer and unsteadier. As you near the river, the ground becomes more rocky and easier to step on.
RapidClan have always hunted fish in the small lake where they lived at before the Clan had to come to their new territory. During their travels through the harsh mountains, they learned how to hunt birds of prey, such as eagles and hawks. Some of that knowledge has been lost as the cats who knew how to perform this hunting technique joined MistClan. Nowadays, the Clan primarily hunts fish and other water-living animals, such as frogs.
The cats of RapidClan are mostly cats with small, agile bodies, sleek fur and bigger paws than the other Clans so that their weight is spread out more on the traitorous terrain that they live in. Fawn coloured pelts and light shades of brown to tawny furs are common here. They are great swimmers.

How the Clans were founded:
How ElmClan and CanyonClan were founded (short version):
Many moons ago, by this river lived only rouges, foxes and badgers. Then a group of cats came from a lake, far away from the river where we live. They called themselves Clan cats and told the rouges that they had come to help them. The rouges didn't accept their offers at first and stayed away from the new cats. One day, wolves attacked their home. They were defenseless as they didn't have any strategies. It looked like they were losing, but suddenly the rouges heard paws thrumming against the ground behind them.
As they turned around, they saw the Clan cats running towards them with determination in their eyes. The cats started fighting the wolves and amazed the rouges with their precise movements. They regained hope and the rouges joined the Clan cats, together they fought off the wolves. After the battle, the rouges spoke with the Clan cats who had saved them. They wondered why these cats had decided to fight for someone else's life. The Clan cats said that they couldn't simply watch as other cats died.
Gratefully, the rouges accepted the Clan cats being there and started doing things their way. However, the cats soon split up into 2 groups, they were simply good at different things and valued different abilities in cats. The cats decided to share the land, some cats moved into the canyon whilst others went to build a home in the nearby elm forest. A cat from each group became the leaders of their separate groups - Elm and Canyon. They were told by cats with misty pelts to go to the Mistcove and get their nine lives. After that, they were known as Elmstar and Canyonstar and ruled their Clans for many moons.
MistClan
MistClan is where cats from the Clans by the river go when they die. They communicate with the living cats in a small cove that's called the Mist Cove. It's located northeast of ElmClan's territory, if you follow the pathway that leads up into the mountains and go onto a thinner, nearly invisible trail that goes in under the waterfall, you'll find a cave where about 10 cats can fit comfortably. It is filled with mist and the cats that wish to communicate with MistClan simply lay down in the cave and close their eyes. Then MistClan cats will be able to speak with them.
