Chapter 6: Why Hello There Vince! I Don't Like you!

~ Nia's POV ~

I woke up early, as usual, and got ready for my first day of school. I put on a purple tank top with a black leather jacket over it, some black denim jeans and my black combat boots. I quickly put my gloves on, and headed to the main room of the hangar, where Smokescreen was waiting for me.

"Good morning, Nia! Ready to go?" Smokescreed said with a yawn. "Sure." I replied while Smokescreen transformed into his alt mode. "Oh, June left some breakfast for you, it's in the backseat." Smokescreen said as soon as I jumped in. I immediately grabbed the bag from the backseat and ate it's contents. "Thanks!" I managed to say while wolfing down my breakfast. Smokescreen chuckled and drove out of the hangar.

>

I walked down the hall, looking for my locker. Smokescreen had dropped me off earlier today, saying that he needed to get back for a recon mission or something. That, or I had really zoned out while he was talking to me. Either way, I got my schedule and locker combination right after, and currently I am trying to find the fraggin locker.

"Okay, whose great idea was it to organize the lockers by sections?!" I exclaimed, pretty frustrated that I still haven't found my locker.

"What's wrong, girly? Can't find your locker?" Someone asked from behind me. I immediately did not like whoever said that. I turned around to find a tall boy with orange hair and green eyes. He had a cocky smirk formed on his face, and an aura that just screamed 'jerk!'.

"First off, don't call me girly. And second, yes I can't find the stupid locker. Now, unless you are going to help me, you can go right ahead and scram." I really did not like him, so I gave it to him straight. He stood there like a dummy for a nano-click, but then snapped out of it with a scowl.

"Look here, girly. I'm the boss here and-"

Slap!

"I'm pretty sure I made it clear that I don't like being called that." I said. I was not one to have a short temper, but one look at the guy and I knew someone had to set him straight.

He stood there, more shocked than angry, with a hand above the red mark that was starting to form on his cheek.

"You're going to regret that." He mumbled. I simply turned around, and left to find the kids.

Ten minutes later, I finally found my locker and the kids, who had appeared almost right after I had slapped that guy.

"So you slapped Vince when he started to pick on you?! That's awesome!!" Miko rambled besides me as I set my stuff in my locker. I just nodded, very amused that this was a big deal in the school.

"It's about time someone stood up to that bully." Raf chipped in. "Maybe he'll think twice before he picks on anyone from now on!"

"Let's hope so, for his sake." Jack joked. "I don't think he could handle Nia slapping him again."

I chuckled at the thought. Vince sure was a big baby. "I'm not sure what's so tough about him, he seems like the type with a lot of bark but no bite." I said, finishing up in my locker and only grabbing the things I needed. "Well, I'm off. My class will start soon, and I wouldn't want to be late on my first day."

"Goodbye! See ya at lunch!" Miko pretty much shouted. The other two only waved.

I waved back, and made my way to my first class; Biology.

>

All of my morning classes went by pretty quickly, but Biology was definitely my favorite so far. I was going to the lunchroom, when suddenly an energy spike grabbed my attention.

"Aw Pits." I cursed, taking a look at a datapad. "Why the Pits is he here?!"

I looked around trying to spot Miko, Jack and Raf, so that we could call the bots and get out. My eyes landed on Miko, jumping up and down trying to get my attention. I jogged to her, noticing that she was concerned about something.

"Hey, Miko! What's up? Where's Jack and Raf?" I asked, pretending I didn't know someone was coming to probably capture us.

"They're with Bee and Arcee, but we have to get out of here, NOW. A Con is heading here!" Miko whisper yelled, grabbing my arm and pulling me outside, while I silently cheered that I didn't have to lie about how I know there was a Con heading our way.

Surprisingly, no one really noticed we were leaving, so we made it to Bulkhead and Smokescreen without any problems.

"Come on, Nia! Get in, we have to go!" Smokescreen said. I climbed in, and we sped off towards base with Miko and Bulk.

Halfway to base, a jet appeared out of absolutely nowhere and began shoot at us.

"Smokescreen!! The Con is on our tail!!" I yelled, looking out the window formulating a plan of escape.

"Scrap! Smokescreen, that's Vortex!" Bulkhead yelled through the comm. "And I'm pretty sure he knows we have humans!"

"Hurry! Let Miko and I out on those boulders! They'll provide cover from the Con, and you won't have to worry about us!" I ordered. I was in comando mode.

"But Nia! What if-?" Smokescreen tried to question.

"No 'what if's'! It's now or never Smokes!" I said, dead serious.

  "Fine."

Smokescreen told Bulk about the plan, and as soon as the opportunity came, Miko and I jumped out of our guardians and made our way behind the boulders.

"They're gonna be alright. They're gonna be alright." Miko started repeating. "Right?"

"Hopefully. Can you call the other Autobots?" I asked, seeing that the Con was keeping both of the Autobot's servos full.

"I can call Jack!" Miko said, already pressing the call button. "Jack?! We need backup, NOW! Vortex is fighting with Bulk and Smokescreen, and they aren't doing too well!"

Jack could be heard calling the rest of the autobots through the cell, and soon, a groundbridge appeared in the middle of the fight. Out of it, Arcee, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime came running through with guns blazing.

Vortex snarled, and jerked his servo out to reach Miko. My instincts kicked in, and I pushed her down just in time, avoiding the capture of either of us. Then, an idea hit me.

'If I fake my capture,' I thought, 'Maybe that can give me the oportunity I've been waiting for! I can finally search for that fragging part, and help Grim!'

  Just one problem...

How can I keep the autobots from trying to rescue me before I get what I need?

Ah, scrap.
