twenty - two

"Your life is so interesting. It's all in the news."

Jaemin teased his sister as they both were snacking on some fruits together. He laughed quietly when Mina rolled her eyes as she was about to punch his shoulder in response. Daehwi strolled inside without another word as he was trying to listen to their conversation. He walked towards the fridge as they stopped talking immediately after.

"I heard that you and Bomin are still lovely towards one another though. How can he handle that embarrassment."

Jaemin threw a piece of fruit at him in response as Daehwi widened in his eyes in response. "What are you doing?!"

Mina scoffed under his breathe before she replied back quietly, "Rumors are rumors. Don't want to disclose anything since it's my life."

Daehwi folded his arms together since he was getting annoyed by not receiving any answers from the pair. He was fairly getting triggered but someone interrupted the conversation which shuts them right up. "Daehwi, you need to show respect to the older siblings."

Hanbin passively added to his comment, "I'm quite annoyed that you still don't show respect. Only in front of father....and it's ticking me off now."

"What are you even talking about? Didn't you see me getting hit with an apple slice?!"

Hanbin turned his head to face the pair of twins who shrugged their shoulders quietly without much to say. "Let's stop it with being rude to one another. Later on, you all will regret it if you don't strengthen your relationship with one another."

Mina stood up first before facing her older brother and her younger sibling. They were related by blood but the little one declined to speak up about the issue. She smiled as she held on Jaemin's shoulder for support as she responded back, "If you think you can fix this relationship, then I would like to see you try, oppa. That little piece of shit thinks he's better than all of us just because his mom is the current wife. Wait until our father lays eyes on a different woman..you won't feel that special anymore."

She walked out of the kitchen before she could see Daehwi running towards her as he was cursing at her. She bumped into the oldest brother, who quietly glared at her for even being in the same area as him. She bowed her head in response to greet and apologize before she walked past him towards her room. He stopped her before she could as Jeonghan spoke up with such bitterness, "You want to see father fainting don't you?"

"Sadly....I got no choice because you think you're all that."

"You're so exciting, Kang Mindy."

"Don't ever even call me by that. You're the cruelest out of everyone here."

Mina glared at him with annoyance as she wandered going all the way back to her room since she really hated being in her own home. Especially the brothers..she can't breathe anymore. She sighed heavily without much to think about as the next person in line to annoy her starting to call her. The root of this issue...the reason why she needs to suffer.

"What do you want now, Bomin?"

"How are you feeling? Hyunsuk seemed a little out of it."

"Who was that girl? I know the past but why did you bring her?"

"Endorsement model...you need to work with her as I know you're also working with the new logo design and marketing planner. You're quite busy now, aren't you? This isn't about the engagement or the deal."

Mina bit her lip to not yell back at Bomin for dumping all the work onto since she knows that he's doing it on purpose. She rolled her eyes before opening her computer up to start working again as she replied back with a sarcastic tone, "Of course. The important work needs to never reach the CEO."

"I'll be waiting for your PPT. I want to test whether you can get the job done."

He hung up soon after since they don't have much to talk about since all was mentioned back at work. She glanced at her computer screen quietly when she realized that the document that she was working on was still working. She remembered that Hyunsuk made her the design happily without much to say. Her cheeks started to get warm once more but she really doesn't mind much about it.

Mina looked around to calm herself down as she felt her cheeks bursting in hotness. She remembered that she felt like this since she knew it was difficult to handle when she was with Hyunsuk. Maybe it was just an immediate effect since she never really thought about it when she was meeting other guys. She grabbed her phone without a second thought since she heard Daehwi complaining outside her door loudly, probably whining about his sister to his other friends.

She looked down at her phone before getting the nerves to open her lock screen as she contacted the person she least expected to call. It was about 11pm at night, but she really didn't expect him to reply back or even answer the phone. She really didn't find the fun in staying in her own home when she knew her brother to think about it.

"Yes?"

"Did I wake you up?"

Hyunsuk wiped his eyes as he was staring at Mina quietly from the door as she scratched the back of her neck. Hyunsuk yawned under his breathe before responding back, "Not at all.. I was on the rim of falling asleep but I can't really stop you since you are the actual owner of this place."

She entered into the apartment quietly after he let her in since she knew that it was not right for her to walk into a place where someone isn't her family member. Hyunsuk turned on the lights since he was used to having the lights off a lot, and he squinted his eyes even more when the brightness entered into his irises. He looked around to find a blanket so that she can cover herself with since he also liked to have the room colder than the expected temperature since he was still trying to adjust. She accepted it without much thought since her mind was clouded with getting her work finished.

The couch was the only place she found the comfort to work on as she took out her computer and her glasses. She sat down on the couch to start her work as she spoke up first before Hyunsuk could actually question her, "I really don't like working at home. And going to the hotel right now, I don't feel safe."

"Well, this was your space to work in so I won't complain."

Hyunsuk turned his back to stand in the kitchen as he decided to make her some tea since his own sleep was interrupted anyways. He turned around to arrange the cups as he saw Mina working effortlessly on the couch with the blanket wrapped around her. He walked carefully over to her as he whispered her name, "Mina."

She turned her head up as the cup of hot tea was right in front of her. She blinked quietly as it was totally unexpected as she was completely focused on he work since she didn't know. She thanked him quietly and took the mug into her own hands. He nodded his head before he turned away to walk towards the kitchen so that he can work on his work as well since he needed to finish some of his assignments. Rather than going to his study room, he found it better to stay outside since he found it too suffocating to work there.

His back was facing Mina the whole time, and he failed to see that Mina glanced at him from time to time. His frame was well built, and Mina found herself glimpsing as she sipped her tea while working. She could get used to this without the continuing pounding in her chest that really seemed to sting whenever Hyunsuk was near her.
