twenty - four
Turning around, Mina's ears perked up when she heard the front door unlocking. She busily then typed on her computer as if she wasn't waiting for him. She denied to herself that she did, but she honestly was waiting for his reaction when he found that she did the dishes. Hyunsuk tiredly washed his hands before he placed his attention on Mina, who was glancing at him at the wrong moment.
"Oh, you're up."
"Did you put me into the bed last night?"
"Ah...yeah..well you were falling asleep last night, so I just directed you to the bed. I didn't touch you in any way!"
Hyunsuk protested with his hands up as he was really innocent on placing his hand on her body when she wasn't awake. Mina rolled her eyes to herself as she cleared her throat quietly since the atmosphere got quiet once more. He then glanced at his phone ringing as Mina also turned her attention towards his phone. He ignored it since it was his friend just begging him to come out to hang out with other people, but he realized that Mina was continuously staring into the kitchen.
Hyunsuk turned his head towards the sink, realizing that there were dishes done that he hasn't touched. After realizing what was the message, he turned towards the other who was staring at her computer once again as he spoke up kindly, "Thanks for cleaning the dishes. I'm quite surprised."
Mina rolled her eyes to herself playfully as she replied back with a grunt, "I did do chores back when I lived alone for awhile."
"Surprising."
She glared at him as he laughed to himself when she watched him moving over to the fridge to grab some ingredients. He hummed under his breathe as Mina confusingly watched him as she asked, "You're cooking?"
"Well, I don't want all the groceries to go to waste....it's all for dinner. I assume you ate something for lunch?"
Mina scratched her head quietly before replying back with an embarrassed laugh, "I didn't. The food you made in the morning is all I had.."
Hyunsuk blinked quietly as he turned his attention on her once again before taking a slight moment of pause to think to himself. He knew that he shouldn't intervene too much into her situation, but his mother always taught him to never turn a blind eye for food especially towards the people he personally knew. He sighed to himself as his mother's words repeated inside his head as he then silently began to cook without giving any notice to Mina.
She wasn't paying much attention anymore since her fingers were busily tapping on the keyboard. Mina did look over at Hyunsuk from time to time, but she never thought much about it until her ears perked up automatically as he called her name over. The aroma of the freshly made food was wafting around as she felt her stomach growling in hunger as she closed her computer quickly.
Hyunsuk looked at her to signal her once more, as she nodded to quickly walk over to him. "Eat up."
He handed her a fork and a spoon as she glanced at the table set of food in front of her. Unlike breakfast, he made some easy shrimp pasta with some garlic bread toasted on the side. He also had some cheesy fries on a plate with some sparkling water in a cup. Her mouth watered immediately as she then sat down to find herself a little confused since Hyunsuk was not going to eat. He was planning to work on some homework as he walked away soon after, but Mina stopped him from leaving as she called out without a thought, "Sit with me."
Hyunsuk's footsteps stopped before he entered his room as he turned his body around to confusingly glance at the latter. Mina wasn't looking straight at him as she was embarrassed of asking him to stay but she cleared her throat to speak up since she already dug her own grave, "Sit with me...please. I...don't like eating alone. We don't need to talk or anything....I just..hate being alone in presence when I eat."
Maybe because her twin brother was always around when she was around. She hated the feeling of eating alone since it reminded of the times she would be left alone with no one around her. Like as if the world was to never to focus or pay attention to her and she could disappear any second. The silence kicked in between the two as Hyunsuk took a second to rethink anything he could do or say. He could deny her right away and just work on his own things.
But he could feel the little bit of hesitation and worrisome within her tone as she seemed to be sincere. He replied back to confirm that he will as he grabbed his computer and tablet from his room to bring out towards the dining area again. He sat down across from her and he placed his headphone on so that he could listen on the online class he decided to switch to and busily was taking notes on his tablet.
He was a little busy to not notice Mina smiling to herself as she was eating her food with a more calm spirit. She never really realized that she just enjoyed the silence presence of someone sitting with her. But now, she was mindlessly chewing on her noodles before realizing that half of the times she was doing was watching Hyunsuk type on his tablet as he was working on his notes and homework.
It hit Mina out of nowhere.
She must be feeling something for the man in front of her.
And she didn't know to deal with it anymore.
