(Chariot POV)

"Hello, Croix!" I call as she enters the classroom. I usually arrive an hour early to make sure I'm here before her.

"Hm? Oh hey, Chariot." Croix greets me, looking up from her book.

"What are you reading?" I ask, trying to keep the conversation going.

"A Midsummers Night Dream." she replies, taking her usual seat. (Two rows behind me, row six, and the seat near the window.)

"Is it good?" I ask, longing to hear more and more of her voice.

"I think you'd like it, it has faeries, love, adventure, all kinds of stuff." Croix says with a shrug as she turns a page.

Croix knows me so well... I think with a sigh.

Soon more students, including my roommates, file into the room for class.

~Timeskip~

"Croix!" I call after class.

"Yes, Chariot?" Croix replies, tucking a strand of lilac hair behind her ear.

"Are you still tutoring me after you take your stuff to your room?" I ask in a worried tone.

"Yeah. Wait here, I'll be back in just a minute." she says as she finally leaves the room.

I sat there in contempt as I wait for her to retern, letting my thoughts wander wherever they wanted.

Do I like Croix? Of course I do, who wouldn't?

Do I love Croix? With all of my heart.

Why don't I tell her how I feel? Croix is amazing. Even just being her friend is enough. I don't wanna lose that. Ever.

"..riot? Chariot!" I feel a hard flick to my nose.

"Ow!" I blink a few times, noticing Croix standing there with her hands on her hips, clearly annoyed.

"I've been calling your name for the past three minutes!" she says.

"I'm sorry, Croix! I guess I was spacing out." I say with a nervous giggle.

"Geez... You ready to study?" Croix asks, taking a seat beside me.

"With you? Always." I say with a grin.

"Don't get all mushy feelings on me, Char." Croix laughs, playfully nudging my arm.

I blush a bit at the use of my nickname, smiling wider.

"I won't!" I tell her as my heart rate starts to go back to normal.

She grins at me. "That's good."

And with that, we began on Potions 101.
