Coffee Shop Part 2

(....You're lucky you're so amazing...)

(Chariot POV)

I quickly ushered the last of my students from my classroom, quickly locking the door behind me.

It was Friday and I had somewhere to be, so I just let my classes go without homework for the weekend.

I quickly made my way out of the school as a familiar blonde and brunette duo caught my eye.

"Hello, girls! You work at that coffee shop, correct?" I ask, coming to walk beside them.

"Yeah, why?" Diana asks skeptically.

"IT'S THREE BLOCKS ON YOUR RIGHT CROIX'S ALREADY THERE!" Akko squeals, bouncing up and down with her eyes bugging out of her head.

"Um, thanks?" I say, making my way towards where she directed me.

I feel warmth grow on my cheeks against the cold autumn breeze as I spot a head of lilac hair through the front window.

I open the small door as the bell jingles above me and walk up to the counter.

"Hey." she greets with a smirk.

"Hi." I say, waving timidly to her.

"Same as yesterday, or...?" she cocks an eyebrow at me.

"Yes, please." I say, nodding as I bit my lip.

"Okay. Here or to go?" she presses further, reaching over to grab a cup.

"Here." I assure her.

"Okay. One minute, if you will." she turns around to prepare my drink as I saunter over to my table from yesterday, taking a seat.

I notice there's no one else here as I grab a different book, something Shakespeare, and begin reading with fained interest.

"Hey." Croix says again, taking a seat across from me as she hands me my cup.

"Thanks." I say shyly, brushing some hair behind my ear.

"So Akko tells me you're a teacher?" she asks, resting her chin in her hand.

"Y-Yeah! I teach an astrology class at Luna Nova High." I inform her, feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks as the attention turned to me.

"W-What about you? Do you work here full time or..?" I question, desperate to get the attention off of me.

"Yeah. I work here Thursdays through Sundays. And then I also have another part time job on Mondays and Tuesdays." she explains with a soft smile.

"Not that I mind, though. I quite like my small jobs." she adds with a chuckle.

Her laugh is too cute! I try not to squeal.

"That's nice! Um, where else do you work, if you don't mind telling me?" I ask, genuinely curious.

"Do you really want to stalk me that bad~?" Croix smirks, cocking an eyebrow as she winks at me.

"I-I u-um-!" I stutter as she laughs.

"I'm kidding, kidding! I work at the little bookstore across the street." she points through the window while still looking at me.

I try to laugh it off, feeling slightly embarrassed.

"You uh..." Croix trails off, gazing at me.

"Yes?" I ask as she blushes slightly.

"H-Here." she leans across the table, cupping my cheek with one hand.

I blush and widen my eyes until I realise she was just wiping something from beside my lip.

"T-T-There." she says quietly, sitting back down.

"Thanks.." I blush, placing a finger gingerly to where her thumb had just been, centimeters from my bottom lip.

We continue to talk for a few more minutes until I hear the bell chime.

"One second." Croix stands, walking behind the counter to deal with the customer.

Only, it wasn't a customer.

"Hey Professor!!" Akko squeals, waving eagerly to me as Diana steps in behind her.

"Hello, Ms. Chariot." Diana greets me in her usual formal manner.

"Hi, girls!" I wave back, smiling at my two students.

"Oh, good. You're here. Can you two go ahead and get started for me?" Croix asks, coming around the counter.

"Of course! Take your time!" Akko pushes Croix towards me as she grabs Diana by the hand, pulling her into the kitchen quickly.

"Sorry about them..." I say with a giggle as she returns to her seat.

"It's fine. Akko's always a loveable idiot, from what I've gathered in our time together." Croix laughs, scratching the back of her neck.

"I guess you're right there." I agree, taking a sip of my coffee.

We sit in silence for a good time, just relaxing in each other's company.

I glance up to see her staring intently at me, bringing a blush to my face as I turn to look away.

Okay, Char. You got this. Just give her your number! I take a shaky breath as I pull the slip of paper from my pocket.

Without a word I stand, placing a kiss on her cheek while slipping the paper in her hand as I bolt out of the store with my coffee in hand.

(Croix POV)

I glance down at the paper folded neatly in my hand, unfurling it.

Call me sometime. I'd like to get to know you.

Oh my gosh! I squeal like a teenager, bouncing from my seat and doing a victory dance.

"Oooh, Croix's gotta cruuush~!" Akko sings from the kitchen, earning a smack to the back of the head from Diana.

I smile and flip her the bird as I continue dancing.

I was so gonna call her tonight.

(Happy birthday <3)
