Ginny watched Harry as he took the cake out of the oven. She had James in her arms taking care of him whilst his parents took care of preparing his first birthday party.

"look at them James." Ginny said smiling, "your parents care so much about you." James giggled in response. "I hope you like the cake, it's my mum's recipe."

She placed down the baby in his play area and began playing with him. She couldn't believe this little one was already one year old.

Hermione was going to flip when she saw the present she had for James but what kind of friend would she be of she didn't give James his first broom. She could blame it on her fiance, it was his idea to get James a broom.

She heard a chuckle behind her, it was Hermione. She had a bright smile on her face, "thank you so much for helping with James."

Ginny smirked playfully, "anything for my favourite kiddo."

"everyone should be here any minute now. Draco said he's going to bring his cousin Teddy so he can meet James."

Ginny stood up from the ground, "let's go James, let's go greet everyone young man!" she picked the child up and surprisingly he didn't cry or anything, instead he giggled loudly.

Hermione kissed her son's forehead, "ginny is your favourite isn't she?"

Ginny grinned proudly, "I am. I'm just so cool and James knows it."

Hermione rolled her eyes playfully at her friend. Ginny walked with her to the dining room, "you know Mione. Your anniversary is coming up soon... Blaise and I could take care of James for the day. I've already talked to Blaise about it and everything. We would just need to Apparate with the crib and some of his things at our house."

Hermione thought about it for a second eyeing how James acted around Ginny. "Are you sure you could handle taking care of James for a day?"

Ginny nodded confidentially, "if I were to need anything I can always ask my mum."

"I would really appreciate if you took care of James that day."

Ginny looked down at the baby in her arms, "hear that James! You're going to spend a whole day with me! I'm going to spoil you, I promise."

James giggled, "yay inny!"

When everyone arrived Harry brought the cake out, it was small but it was enough for all of them.

James had a blast smashing his little piece of cake on his face.

Hermione almost fainted when she saw the broom Ginny and Blaise got her child. Harry tried calming her nerves saying he could teach him, that did not calm her but they moved on.

Soon they all began to leave little by little. Draco and Astoria were the last ones to leave with Teddy. Astoria was talking to Hermione about her experiences with her first baby since she was two weeks pregnant.

Hermione congratulated her knowing her and Draco had been trying to have a baby for a long time now. She offered all of her advice excitedly.

Harry put the baby on his crib and left to his room with Hermione. Hermione opened her arms and he crawled into the hug. He chuckled, "well you know the baby is asleep..."

Hermione hummed, "are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting."

Harry looked up pulling her more down to kiss her. Hermione placed her hand on his chest trying to take his shirt off.

Suddenly they heard the baby crying, Harry groaned. Hermione gave him a small peck, "if you hurry we still have time before it's too late for you professor."

Harry groaned again, "can't wait for our anniversary."

"I know but hurry, it's still early."

Harry stood up, "I'm going, I'm going."
