Chapter 5

My nightmares intensified last night after hanging out with Louis. They were 10 times worse than usual. Talking about Niall stirred up some emotions because I woke up in a complete panic. I have not talked about him since I arrived in London whenI filled Flora in about the whole saga. The dreams have me feeling a little down today. Flora is working and I don't want to be alone. I decide to reach out to Sophia to see if she is up for a late lunch. I thank god that she is available because otherwise I would have to lose myself in some more data entry and I don't want to work on a Saturday. I take Sophia up on the idea to meet at a cafe close to Liam's apartment in Canary Wharf. It is a great opportunity to explore London

I am excited to pick out a cute outfit for my lunch date.I have not had the opportunity to wear a cute casual outfit in a while with the professional work clothes, the ripped jeans and tanks for skating, and sweat pants around the apartment.   I take a look in my closet and pull out a black maxi dress that I bought last week while I was out on a shopping trip with Flora. This will be perfect for an afternoon lunch. I throw on a pair of sandals and grab my jean jacket before I run out of the door.

It is a warm day but overcast as usual. I sure do miss the sunny days at home. As I walk up to the café, I see Sophia sitting at an outside table looking over a menu. She looks perfect as always with her hair curled and manicured nails. My style is definitely a little more unpolished but I love that about myself.

When she sees me, she jumps up to greet me. "Olivia! It is so good to see you."

"Hi Sophia!" I give her a big hug. "Thanks for getting together last minute." I take a seat at the table. "I saw Louis last night and it reminded me that I have not contacted you since I have been in London."

"No worries, I have been busy with my studies, so this is a nice break for me."

"How is your transition to London? Are you finding your way around the city?"

"It has been great. After the first week of being here, I got a research job with a professor from a university in Dublin. The research is about British culture so he is working in London until the research is complete." A smile creeps across Sophia's face and she giggles behind her hands. I look at her confused. "What's funny?"

"Nothing, it just seems that you tend to draw the Irishmen to you, don't you?"

Not even five minutes in and she brings up Niall. She doesn't waste any time. At least Louis hung out with me for an hour before he brought up him.

"Stop, you're being silly. It's just a coincidence. Besides, Sean is my boss and nothing would ever happen between us."

"Oh, Sean? We're on a first name bases?"

I lean over and hit her with my menu. "Ok enough about me. How have you been?"

"Better now that Liam is home. It is so nice to spend time with him and not have to share him with the world. It gets to be a lot when he's on the road for months at a time and when we are together fans want all of this attention."

"I bet he loves being home too, being able to have a normal routine and sleep in his own bed."

The talk of the boys being on a break makes my mind drift to Niall. I wonder how much he must be enjoying the time off. I remember when I told him I couldn't be with him; he told me that I couldn't run from him because we will eventually be in the same city again. Well here we are, both in the same city. I wonder when he will find me. Or if he will even come looking.

After lunch we head over to some shops with Topshop and Zara being the first ones. I can't afford anything but looking never hurts. After about two hours of shopping, Sophia ends up with several new pieces for her wardrobe and I actually pick up some cute sale items at Topshop. We decide to head to her apartment to watch some movies and relax for the evening. Once we settle on watching Mean Girls, Sophia makes some popcorn and opens a bottle of wine as I get comfortable on the couch. About halfway through the movie, there is a knock at her door.

Sophia looks at me and smiles, "That must be Liam. He said he had a meeting with the boys and if he got done early he would stop over."

Sophia goes to answer the door and I get instant butterflies in my stomach. What if Niall came with Liam? When Sophia opens the door I can hear two voices. I am getting even more nervous when I hear the footsteps getting closer to the living room. Once I listen closer I realize it's not an Irish accent but Cheshire. I take a deep breath and exhale feeling relieved.

They come into the living room and I look up when I hear Harry great me. "Hi, Olivia!"

Harry stands in the doorway and appears to be happy to see me. I am surprised at his reaction, I wasn't sure how he would feel about me after I hurt Niall with my secret about being a fan.

He comes over to me and gives a hug. "How have you been?" he asks as he sits down next to me on the couch.

I look at him confused. First, he seems happy to see me and now he gives me a hug. This is not the same Harry that I remember from the tour. "I've been good, how about you?"

"Good, thanks. I forgot you moved to London and Liam reminded me just today on the car ride over. How long have you been living here?"

Just then Liam walks into the room. "Hey, Olivia. I hope you don't mind that I brought Harry along."

"Not at all, why would I mind? It's not my place."

"I know but I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. I know you and Sophia are having a girl's day and we are crashing it."

"No. I am fine. I don't mind at all. It's nice to see you guys." I turn my attention back to Harry to continue our conversation. "I have been here for about a month. I am working at London School of Economics doing research."

"Cool. What is your research about?"

"We are studying the culture and daily lives of the British."

"Seriously? Us Brits aren't that entertaining, we are rather boring."

"You boring? Hardly."

"I guess you're right. I could never be boring," he says with a smile. "Where are you living?"

"Thames Shadd at the Dockhead. I am living with my friend Flora. It's a nice place."

"How do you know your friend, Flora?" he asks.

"We met in college. She was doing the study aboard program for a year. We shared a love for skate boarding and music. She has been my best friend from the day we met. I haven't seen her in a while so I love all this time I get to spend with her. She works for Vans and does some modeling on the side." I find myself rambling and I start to blush. "Sorry, you probably didn't need to know all of that about Flora."

"She sounds like fun. Is she single?" he says with the classic Harry Styles smile growing across his face.

"She is fun but you are definitely not her type so don't get any ideas."

Who knows, Flora might be interested in Harry, she really took to Louis. I just don't know how things would work out between them. It would probably be some mindless hook seeing that Flora doesn't do the whole relationship thing. Besides, just ten minutes ago I didn't think he even liked me as a friend. I would like to see how a friendship would go before I start hooking up my roommate with a member of One Direction.

He leans back into the couch. "Fair enough."

Harry and Liam end up staying to hangout, so we order takeout and watch chick flicks for the rest of the night. Sophia and I over ruled the boys for movie choices since it is our girl's day they crashed. It is really nice to be out of the house and spending time with some of my own friends instead of Flora's. Or should I say some of Niall's friends. Ugh...I really need to find some of my own. Don't they count as mine? I hope they see me as a friend.

As the night came to an end, Harry offers me a ride home and I accept. It's late and I don't want to take the subway or taxi home. When we arrive at my apartment, I offer him to come up to check out the place but he declines. He did ask to meet up again which made me happy.
