As Regan continued her stare down with Tori sirens wailed in the parking lot outside the door. Off in the distance was calls from her cell phone but Regan was too struck by the evil she saw in Tori's menacing smile. After a few moments and Tori's decision to walk away Regan finally came to her senses and realized her phone was ringing. She didn't hesitate to answer.
"Hey! Carly! Where are you? Are you alright?" She asked in a calm voice.
Regan was always good for keeping calm in precarious situations. She knew that the slightest hint of something going wrong would send Carlyn into a date of worry and she didn't need her adoptive daughter up in arms knowing her own fragile situation.
"I'm fine mom but I haven't been able to reach Joey. Is he home with you guys?" She asked.
"No sweetie he's not. I thought he was with you and Tre?"
"He was supposed to meet us but he never showed. I'm a little worried about him. Where's Daddy?"
Regan didn't want to answer so quickly but she knew that there was nothing stronger than the feeling that your home could be in turmoil.
"He's a little busy with something right now but I'll make sure he calls you just as soon as he's done."
"Mom I know something is up just by you saying you'll have him call me. What's really going on?"
A small tight knot began to form in Regan's throat as she knew she couldn't lie to Carlyn anymore than she already has. She took a deep breath and was about to confess but was soon stopped by the sound of Prince calling out to her.
"Regan! Come on! We're going!" He shouted at her from the door.
"I promise I will tell you as soon as we're done here." Regan said to Carlyn in a reassuring voice.
"Mom you better tell me what's going on or else." Carlyn scoffed.
"Or else what?!?!?" Regan giggled back to her.
"Or else I'll hug you to death."
"You have a whole husband to do that to."
"I know. But go handle your business and get your man back I'll talk to you guys later."
"Hang up now Carly." Regan joked before hanging up the phone.
Regan stuffed her phone back in her pocket of her jeans and made her way quickly over to Prince.
"How is she? Is she alright?" Regan asked referring to Cat.
"They have her stable but we're going to follow behind her to the hospital." Prince said.
Regan looked back up at the top of the steps and saw Karen coming down in a panic.
"Prince! Prince wait!" She called just as he was about to walk out the door to his car.
Regan rolled her eyes and put her hands out to stop her in her tracks.
"You need you leave and take your bipolar bitch of a sister with you!" Regan replied angrily.
Prince turned quickly on his heels as his eyes were wide with surprise.
"Mouse! Come on now. It's not the time for you to get All crazy." He said with a grin.
"And you have no problem with this?!?!? Car was just shot just outside your door and your really going to have the nerve to be calm about this?!?!? Prince I don't even know you anymore right now!" Regan shouted at him as she turned to glare at him with squinted eyes.
"You know just as well as I do that this is a lot to handle but right now we both know that we need to be by Cat's side. We can take care of Karen and Tori- I'm sorry McKenzie when we get things situated with Cat. Our top priority is our friends and family. Karen if it's all the same to you I have something I have to take care of. You and your sister need to leave the property now."
"Well that's just it! I can't find her anywhere and I'm not one to go snooping around someone's home without permission but I need to find her and get her home before she hurts someone else. Please help me find her!"
"Wait wait hold on!" Regan said angrily with confusion dripping from her face.
Karen was afraid that this was going to be the reaction she would get but not from Regan.
"You mean to tell me you can't keep tabs on psycho Susie for five minutes?!?!?"
"Look I know this is a frustrating situation but I need to find her! I don't want her here just as much as you and I can't do that if I just let her wander around looking for trouble. Please! I'm asking for someone to help me get her home."
Prince and Regan looked at each other then turned to Karen and she stood still worried about her deranged sister.
"Mouse? How much truth is in what she's saying?" Prince asked.
"I'll stay back here just......leave me a few security guys and maybe a few bucks for a cab for these hoes and I'll be fine." Regan hissed.
Prince smiled and looked at Regan grateful for her raw honesty. He wrapped his arms around her and took her in a warm embrace.
"Please be careful. I don't want anything happening to you too." He whispered to her and he held her tightly.
"You have no idea how much I hate you for getting with this chick." Regan whispered back.
The two of them let go and smiled. Prince winked at her and shook his head.
"Be nice Mouse. Karen? Regan will stay and help you find your sister. I'll also have three of my security team with you as extra precaution. Regan? Call me and keep me updated."
Regan nodded and the two women watched and Prince walked out of the building and got in his car and drove away. Regan turned to Karen to face her quickly because she was still unsure if Karen was trustworthy enough to be left standing behind her.
"Alright.....lets go find this girl. After that you and her need to be on the first thing smoking. I don't care if you drug the girl to get her home. I want her gone! Understand?" Regan said to Karen harshly.
Karen was on the verge of tears because she felt as if since everyone was against her sister there was so room for any sympathy for her either. Karen knew that everyone had the right to feel the way they did but at the same time she wished that everyone could understand that none of this was her fault. All Karen wanted was to find Tori and take her home so she could get the help she knows her sister needs. Regan stomped off ahead of Karen just as Security showed up to escort them around the building to find Tori. Karen was tired of holding back the tears and just dropped to her knees and cried.
"I'm so......sorry." She said as she bawled through her hands.
The crying stopped Regan in her tracks and she once again let out a deep and agitated sigh.
"Miss Jensen? You want us to go?" One security member asked.
"No. Just stay here." Regan answered flatly.
Regan slowly turned as Karen continued to cry and bit down on her bottom lip hard enough to remember that this was her real life.
"I wish none of this was happening." Karen sobbed.
As much as Regan wanted to keep her cold hearted persona something in her heart was telling her that she needed to show a little more empathy. The real question still remained. Would it be too soon to let her guard down for a direct descendant of the devil?
