The moment had arrived at last. Tremaine and Carlyn were ready to go on a week long trip to the west coast and enjoy so sun before the baby comes. Everyone had come by to see Carlyn off but there was one person missing.

"Hey has anyone seen my old man? He promised to see us go." Carlyn asked.

"Don't worry about your dad you know how he gets." Andre laughed as he wrapped his arm around his wife.

"Well this isn't like you father at all. He should have been the first one here." Regan said as she looked over her shoulders  seeing Tori sashaying her way down the steps.

"Hi everyone! Is it time?" Tori asked with a big smile on her face.

Every looked to Tori and found her dress in a bright pink spring dress that flowed to the floor. Her hair was in tight curls with a matching flower on the right side pinning her hair back behind her ear. Carlyn immediately rolled her eyes in disgust.

"Well look what Satan dragged from hell." Carlyn said under her breath but loud enough for Erinalia and Tremaine to hear.

"Baby be nice. She's about to be your stepmother soon." Tremaine whispered.

"Yeah girl! Get your hormones in check before your daddy checks you!" Erinalia replied.

"Whatever." Carlyn scoffed as she rolled her eyes once more.

Erin laughed and nudged her friend in the arm unaware the Carlyn had good reason to despise the woman her father was about to marry.

"Hey! There's the next bride to be! Where's that fiancé of yours? He's missing his baby girl bon voyage!" Morris said to her as she hugged him.

"You....mean he's not here? Well that's not good. Has anyone seen him since he went into the studio?" Tori had asked as she looked around.

"So that's where he is! I'll run up and get him." Regan said as she charged for the steps.

"No mom it's ok! I'll just run up and say goodbye. You know how he gets when he as a whole album in his head." Carlyn giggled.

"Oh I know right! That man just won't slow down will he?" Erin giggled.

"That's my man! Always working." Tori piped up.

Carlyn looked at Tori with that very same disgusted look on her face and Tori's smiled quickly faded.

"Yes. He is. Isn't he?" Carlyn sneered at her before going up the stairs.

Tori and Carlyn had a quick stare down before she headed up the stairs to find her father. Tori was at her boiling point but wasn't going to lose her cool in front of a small gathering of her fiancés friends and loved ones. She raised her eyebrows in faux surprise.

"What's with those two?" Morris asked.

"They're.....still feeling each other out.....you know Carlyn." Erin replied.

"Well at least Joey took a liking to you aye Tori?" Andre giggled knowing that Joey was at that age where girls were soon to be his focal point.

It got a smile out of Tori for a while but it wasn't enough to keep her and Carlyn from bumping heads. While everyone waited down stairs Carlyn went on a hunt for her dad. There was no music to lead her to him and it concerned her even more than hours earlier when he didn't eat his breakfast.

"Where are you old man?" She giggled as she passed a half open door with prince unknowingly inside.

Carlyn stopped and backtracked to the door and peeked inside. There he was. The sad and confused artist was sitting at his drum kit with his head down and she couldn't tell his he was asleep or deep in thought. She knocked on the door before letting herself in.

"Daddy?" She called to him but he never moved.

Carlyn closed the door and slowly walked toward the drums hoping not to startle him if he was in fact asleep.

"Dad? You alright?" She called again but the sad man still didn't answer.

Carlyn went up to her father pulled up one of the extra stools that he uses to help Joey with his drum lesson and sat down.

"Daddy? What's wrong? Please talk to me. I've.....I've been worried about you all morning. You didn't have breakfast.....and you've been sleeping in the studio. What's going on?"

Prince never looked away from the golden cymbal in front of him but he did acknowledge his daughter's presence by touching her growing belly with his right hand. She responded silently and touched his hand with hers.

"Daddy please? Talk to me. What's wrong? Is it the honeymoon? We won't go if you're that worried about the baby. Me and Tre can wait until after the baby is born. I just.....I just hate to see you so.....lost."

Carlyn could feel herself falling apart emotionally as she tried to console her father. Prince finally looked up at her and wiped away the tears that began to fall from his little girl's eyes.

"My sweet girl. I'm sorry to have you so worried about me. Please don't cry. I just......I just have a lot to think about right now. I don't know if.....I want to concern you with it right now because of the pregnancy but.....I want you to know that.....I love you and I love your brother with everything in me. You two came into my life when I thought I couldn't be blessed any more. I'm forever grateful to you and to him."

"Oh daddy. I love you too." Carlyn began to weep as she wrapped her arms around her father and he did the same.

"Stop crying my love. I don't want you to throw yourself into an early labor. You might give me a gray hair." Prince joked getting Carlyn to smile.

Prince wanted so badly to pour his heart and soul out to his daughter but he knew that it just wasn't the time to do so because of her condition. He was so ready to tell her that she was right about her feeling for Tori but he also didn't want to be alone for the rest of his life. He wanted to be loved harder than he's ever been loved before. Though his love for Tori was genuine his trust for her was diminishing after what he had stumbled upon. The man knew he had to get this weight off his shoulders. So when he saw his daughter and son in law off for there vacation and Paisley Park became empty he went to find his bride to be and ask about the phone conversation that she was having and if what she said was even true. If this had happened in his younger days, Prince would have flew off the handle from the moment he heard the recording. The older and more mature Prince was more calm and reserved. He knew to take things one step at a time before making an irrational decision out of anger. He made his way to his room where he found Tori laying across the bed reading a magazine. She was surprised to see him at the door as if he appeared out of thin air.

"Oh! Hey baby! You scared me!" She said as she began to notice his demeanor.

"Baby? What's the matter?" She asked him concerned about his well being.

Prince didn't answer her. He just simply walked across the threshold closing the door behind him.

"Tori? I think we need to talk." Was all he said as he tried his best to stabilize his anger.
