Carlyn stood bewildered at the sight she had just walked into. Frozen where she was she didn't say anything. She just watched as Prince took his new fiancé in his arms and kissed her several times before setting her back down on the floor in her upright stance.

"You think Carly will be alright with this?" Tori asked as she looked at her finger and not at the musicians face.

Carlyn was quick to give her own father's response.

"Not really!" She snapped sharply at the both of them.

"Hey baby girl! Good news! I'm finally getting married." Prince said happily as he took Tori by the hand and kissed it.

"This is a sick joke isn't it?" Carlyn hissed.

"What's wrong? Aren't you happy for us?" Prince had asked with a little concern in his voice.

Carlyn soon stopped herself from being engulfed in the sea of rage that was just a mere five feet away from her wearing the ring that once belonged to another lover of his youth. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"I'm happy with whatever choices you make dad." She said as the melancholy tone dropped from every word.

Prince kissed his future bride and excused himself from her and went up to his daughter to give her some comfort.

"My sweet girl why the long face?" He asked his daughter.

Carlyn pulled him to the side and made sure that there wasn't any extra ears around to listen in to what she was about to say.

"Daddy.....look I love you more than any in the world and you know that I want to see you happy but......daddy she's not the one for you!"

"Well what makes you say that?"

She was very timid and hesitant because she knew that seeing him happy meant a lot to her but what would it cost when it comes down to his heart and who it's really meant for? Carlyn knew that she was treading on thin ice because her father could switch emotions on a dime but she was willing to protect her dad and his hard earnings no matter if he believed her or not.

"Daddy.....Tori is using you." She said in a near silent whisper.

Prince stood back a moment and took in what his daughter had said and before jumping the gun and saying the first thing that came to mind he took a deep breath and placed his hands on her shoulders and collected his thoughts.

"Carlyn look at me. I know that you are looking out for my best interest but think about it. You've been scanning every woman I've dated for years and each of those woman you've kicked to the curb before I've ever had the chance to propose. You let me get this far and now you're against it! Why?"

"Daddy because she never gave me any reason to until the reception. Besides I was only keeping my mouth shut because I want you to be happy."

"What happened at the reception? She was with me the whole time."

"Not in the bathroom she wasn't."

  "Well what did she do."

"It wasn't what she did it was what she said to whoever she was talking to on the phone."

Prince was almost afraid to ask so he decided to leave well enough alone for the time being because he knew his pregnant daughter had been up for hours and needed some well earned sleep.

"Carlyn I think you mind is messing with you right now. You're tired and need rest. I've had the staff make you and Tre a room to get some rest before your honeymoon later on. You need to get some sleep. I promise once you wake up with a clear mind we'll talk more before you leave."

"But daddy-"

"Carlyn? Promise me you'll get some sleep?"

Carlyn knew that when her father pulled the promise card he meant business. She smiled with a small sigh falling from her lips and put her pinky in the air.

"Alright old man. Ya got me. I promise."

Prince wrapped his pinky around hers tightly and they shook on it.

"Don't break it now." He giggled.

"I should be telling you that dad." She giggled back.

They unlocked fingers and Carlyn hugged her father tightly. Afterwards Prince rubbed is daughters growing belly.

"Make sure you rest. My grand baby and you need it."

"I will daddy. You and your......fiancé should be getting some rest too. Ya know together? But in separate rooms?" Carlyn snidely said.

Prince shook his head and laughed.

"Behave mama." He said to her as he took Tori by the hand again.

"I think you should be taking your own advice dad. See you later. Oh yeah......and seriously congratulations.....both of you."

Tori smiled big as she waved with her left hand with the ring being shown.

"Thank you!" She shouted as Carlyn dragged her tired body and mind up the steps ignoring Tori the whole way up.

Once she got to the stop she was trying to figure out how she was going to deal with the horrible dilemma at hand. How to convince her father that the woman he just proposed to is bad news. When she reached her bedroom she noticed that the door was wide open and the air smelled of strong lavender and vanilla candles. Stepping inside she was met with her very sleepy husband who was already out of his suit and in a tee shirt and blue and green stripped pajama bottoms.

"Bout time you got here." He said as he came up to her with a grin.

"Well don't you look comfortable!" She said as she slipped into his arms.

Tremaine placed both hands on Carlyn's belly and breathed in deeply.

"I wonder what we'll have soon. Hopefully a son that will want to play football."

"Or maybe a little girl who might be the next ballet star."

"Well whatever we have we'll love this kid a million times over."

Tremaine kissed Carlyn's neck and began to unzip her wedding gown and help her out of it. The deep breath Carlyn let out was a relieved one as she could finally feel comfortable in her own body again even if it was just going to be for a short amount of time before she was no longer able to fit into her size 4 clothes. Tremaine led her to the bathroom which had an overwhelming aroma of vanilla and candles.  He helped her into the tub and left her to her relax alone for a while unaware that she was leaving her with her troubled thoughts of all the things Tori had planned for her father's money once they tie the knot.
