Ch. 52 First Date... Thing

Short chapter that I forgot to post! Not much happens, but there are some feels! Hope you guys like it, tell me what you think! Should I write more filler chapters, or should I just get on with the plot line?

Ginny tucked her fiery hair behind her ear, glancing towards where Harry was sitting. They were the only ones in the library besides a Ravenclaw and a Slytherin that were off to the corner. Harry looked ready to pass out, but was also extremely excited for some reason.

Ginny, however, was trying her best to keep her emotions from her best friend. She was ready to finally go eat dinner, but Harry insisted they continue studying until the last possible second. It made her angry, but she didn't want him to know that. If he did, he'd be hurt.

Swiftly glancing up towards him, Ginny noticed that the boy was now leaning back in his chair, eyes half closed, a tranquil smile on his lips. In fact, in this moment he actually looked quite nice, with his tie half undone and his cloak flung across the chair beside him. His shirt was untucked and his hair was messier than normal, but somehow that made him look a hundred times hotte- SHUT IT.

Ginny shook her head, trying to pry her eyes from her Bond Mate and towards the book in front of her. It was incredibly boring, paragraph after paragraph of impossible things that had come true with the use of magic. There were many accounts on the Triwizard Tournament that Ginny hoped would help her Bond Mate, but they still had no clue what the first challenge was.

"You ready?" Harry asked suddenly, just as Ginny was getting more into the book. She almost declined, noticing a catalog of the past Champions, but figured she might as well go. She wasn't Hermione, she couldn't very well pay attention to a book on an empty stomach.

Harry immediately grabbed Ginny's hand, causing that warm feeling to spread up her arm. After around three weeks of dating, she still couldn't believe they were together. Well, he's been her best friend since she was young, maybe seven or so, but still, she would have never thought she'd come to date him.

Ginny knew it was inevitable. She'd read somewhere that people with Bonds would grow closer and closer, and never lose that spark. Somehow she knew that it was true, unlike some other logs in magic books that said things she couldn't even believe about the Bond, and some things she wished she didn't read, but she knew that one thing was true. Ginny had never fallen in love, but she knew enough about it to know that something between her and Harry was growing, and not just the Bond.

She'd been so spaced out thinking about her love life that Ginny didn't notice where Harry had been leading her. He should have taken a right somewhere behind them so that they would be able to get to the Great Hall, but right now they were heading towards the kitchens.

"Harry, we missed a turn." She pointed out, scrunching her eyebrows together as Harry reached the painting of a bowl of fruit.

"No we didn't." He grinned, tickling the pear and stepping into the crowd of House Elves. The small clambered around him, offering plates of food and butter beers. Ginny could help but laugh at the small elves that loved her Bond Mate so much.

"Mizzer Potter has brought his Mizzus!" She heard one elf shout. Her cheeks were bright red as the creatures ran over to her as well. Harry had turned tomato red and was trying to pry one house elf off of his leg, it was smaller than the rest and seemed to really love him.

"Um, at least they stopped calling you 'Master Potter'" Ginny laughed, declining a bottle of pumpkin juice from a stout little elf. Harry eventually made his way towards her with a basket.

"Thanks guys! I owe you one." And he pulled Ginny by the hand out of the door. After the portrait shut behind them, Harry grinned at her.

"What was all of this about?" Ginny asked as Harry continued pulling her down the hall. Suddenly he stopped, his ears turning red and a sheepish smile crossing his face.

"Oh, right. I got a little bit ahead of myself." He turned to face her. "I was wondering, maybe we could go out on a date?" Any anger Ginny still harbored for the green eyed boy dissolved. She smiled, taking his hand again.

"Yeah, that'd be nice. Where are we going?" She asked, noticing he still wasn't heading to the Great Hall or the Common Room. Harry grinned, turning a corner and pulling her closer.

"It'll be a surprise." Placing a kiss on her temple, Harry set off again. Ginny sighed, a small smile still on her lips as she kept his pace. It wasn't easy, seeing as he had longer legs than her, but she managed.

"Or, you could just tell me." Ginny innocently suggested, noticing he was avoiding eye contact with her so her 'puppy dog' pout wouldn't distract him.

"Or you could be patient," He put his arm around her waist lightly, only barely worrying he was overstepping a boundary with doing that. Ginny didn't mind, instead reveled in the warm feeling that was now spreading from just one arm, towards her stomach, and reaching the other arm as well.

Harry, seeing she was distracted, continued walking along towards the doors to the school. Swiftly pulling out his Invisibility Cloak. Well, technically it was his dad's, but Harry had gotten his hands on it a while ago.

When the cold hit Ginny, she snapped back to reality and noticed Harry draping the cloak around them. She almost smiled, really starting to like this date thing, and they hadn't even gotten to wherever Harry was taking her.

After another five minutes of walking, Harry finally pulled Ginny around the Lake to the other side, where they had to climb onto a small hill like place. A tree was there, but otherwise it was completely empty. Ginny wondered how Harry found this place, as it was pretty much cut off from the rest of the lake.

It was a small space, with low trees and bushes surrounding them. Flowers swayed in the wind at their feet and Harry placed a blanket over the cold ground, sitting down. Ginny sat as well, still looking around at the area that was dimly lit by moonlight. Stars were coming out now, twinkling above them and casting an eerie glow over Harry's face. But somehow, it was romantic.

Bringing out the food, Harry set it out and the two ate. They laughed until they couldn't breathe and the moon was soon shining almost right above them. They knew it was past curfew, but didn't really care.

"Lay back." Harry grinned. Ginny raised her eyebrows, but propped herself up on her elbows beside him. Immediately, her breath caught.

Sitting upright, all you could really see was the trees and bushes around you, but lounging backwards the tops of the trees stretched back slightly. Just in front of them, through a small clearing, they could see the goal posts of the Quidditch Pitch, and the stands that looked above them.

Ginny gaped at it for another minute, taking in the sight, then diverted her attention to Harry. He wasn't staring at the pitch like she was, instead he had trained his gaze on her. The emotions she saw in his eyes made her subconsciously blush and look at the ground.

"You're the best, Harry." She smiled. Harry grinned, obviously happy that he'd made their first real date a good one. Ginny leaned over, softly kissing him. Sparks settled in her chest, as always, and she smiled. A glow had settled over the small area, Ginny noticed through her closed eyelids, she'd have to tell Harry that when they left. Her arms were resting on his shoulders.

Harry went to put his hand on her waist, seemingly forgetting that his elbow was really the only thing holding them up, and the two toppled in a pile of glowing limbs.

They sprawled onto the grass, Ginny half laying on Harry and Harry's arms twisted around her. A moment of silence came, shock filling Harry's eyes. Ginny suddenly laughed, lifting herself off of his chest so she could look at him.

"Smooth." She complemented, knowing that it was an accident but wanting to tease him. Harry blushed slightly, but still smiled.

She kissed him again, and the whole world went dim to them. Just each other, a Quidditch Pitch, and some forgotten butterbeer.

And so they stayed like that until they both closed their eyes in sync, falling into sleep.

Well, one of them was asleep.
