Ch. 50 Goblet of Fire
Ginny looked up at Harry, keeping his shirt clenched in her fists. He had his face buried in her hair, muttering things softly. Occasionally, she'd feel a spike of worry come from him, so she sent him some calming emotions.
Harry glanced up at her, eyes roaming her face and searching her emotions. After he deemed her stable, he pulled her back to him, still comforting her even though she felt better now.
"What happened?" He asked softly. Ginny sighed, looking out the window towards the forest. Not for the first time, she wondered where she had been in the dream. A dark, forested area with little light. Just thinking that made a chill run down her spine, and she could almost feel the man's lips pressed against her ear.
Ginny huddled closer to Harry for warmth and slowly recounted the entire dream. It was no use leaving things out or sugar coating it, since Harry had felt her dread and slight shame. He had started holding her even closer half way through, his hand gripping her thigh like he was making sure she wouldn't run away. A hard look was planted on his face as he stared into the fire, anger zooming through the Bond.
By the time she finished, Harry was practically boiling, his eyes flashing gold as he glared at an empty corner, like he could imagine Chimp Dude was there. Gold light was pouring from his hands as he tried to calm himself.
Harry, calm down. Ginny ordered shakily as he held her. Harry didn't obey immediately, but she grabbed his chin with her fingers and forced him to look at her in the eye. Harry, please. Don't be mad at me... Please...
Harry stopped short, raising his eyebrows at her. Why would I be mad at you? He asked softly, trying to reach into the Bond to assure her.
Because... Because of... And he... He touched me and I thought you... Ginny stopped herself and stared at her hands, but now it was her Bond Mate's turn to force her to look at him. He cradled her face and forced her to look at him.
I'm not mad at you, Gin. Nor would I ever be at something like this. You had no control over what he did. He should've never done this to you, I should've been there to protect you. He knew she didn't need someone to protect her, but she looked so fragile after the dream that he could've help but feel an animal in him bare it's teeth and growl. Nothing would hurt her again, he'd make sure of that.
Harry... Just... Hold me... And he did, wrapping her in his arms for the few minutes until they'd have to get up. The sun was rising outside, since Ginny had pretty much slept through the night in the Common Room. McGonagall had insisted she stayed in there, as she'd be closer to Harry and they couldn't let him stay in the Hospital Wing for another night.
By the time Ginny fell asleep, it was almost an hour before breakfast. So Harry closed his eyes with her, holding her in his arms and warding off any evil that may be near. The animal that had taken residence in him during the Bond was on watch tonight, and it wouldn't let any nightmares reach the girl both it and the boy it resided in loved.

Harry and Ginny sat on the long benches, waiting for Dumbledore's speech to be over so they could hear the names of the competitors and leave. Ginny's hand was in Harry's, her voice was cracking when she talked to him, and her eyes had bags underneath them, from lack of sleep, but she still looked breath taking.
Harry was much the same, his voice low and guttural from a long day of tiring classes, his shaggy hair was forever in his eyes, and his tie had magically come undone. No, seriously, Neville accidentally severed it while dueling in DADA.
Hermione sat next to them, along with a disgruntled Ron. Both were sitting slightly away from the two, but every so often Hermione would give Ginny a apologetic glance or Harry a guilty look. Ron was leaning on his knees, trying his best to ignore Ginny's conversation with Harry, or the way that Hermione kept scowling in his direction when he mumbled under his breath.
Finally, the first name came and Harry and Ginny tuned back into the current situation, waiting to hear the name. Of course, it was Fleur, one of the most popular girls at Bouxbatons. Then Viktor Krum, a boy that Hermione had been seen talking with several times. The Hogwarts competitor was Cedric Diggory, a blond boy with a glint in his eye.
Then something surprising happened, silencing the cheers of Hufflepuffs for their fellow housemate. Another piece of paper flew into Dumbledore's hand, and he read it silently. "Harry Potter" He said. Ginny froze, her heart stopping.
Harry, you didn't tell me you put you're name in? Ginny asked, slightly hurt and also scared for his life. Harry didn't respond, only a small shake of his head as he climbed towards Dumbledore with a shocked look. An uproar came from all corners of the hall, but the teachers silenced it.
Harry's emotions were so strong, they pounded into Ginny's head sharply. Her vision started fading, and she almost thought that she was having another Dream with Chimp Dude, but then she saw Harry walking with Dumbledore. Except, it was like she was him. Her mind was seeing what he was seeing.
She could still feel her body sitting on the benches, probably looking scared as all Merlin, but she couldn't move anything. His emotions were still there, but it felt more like her emotions. Sure, it was slightly watered down, but the sense of panic was definitely there.
He made his way with Dumbledore towards where the other Champions were, and they all looked at him with strange gazes. That made Harry slightly embarrassed.
"Harry, did you put your name in the goblet of fire?" Dumbledore asked calmly, his hands laced in front of him. Harry crossed his arms tightly over him, feeling the heat of the other's gazes burning into his skull.
"No sir, I didn't." Ginny was slightly relieved at that. They wouldn't let him compete anyway. Dumbledore sighed, walking off to talk to the other teachers. Harry tried to avoid everyone's gaze as he waited, but eventually looked up to see one face full of fury, one of slight concern, and the other with confusion.
Dumbledore returned, and what he said angered Ginny so much, she snapped back to her own body, gasping at the sudden change. Hermione was staring at her with wide eyes, as was Ron, but she didn't care, she pushed past them, determined to get to Harry.
She stormed into the room and was met with several shocked gazes, but she just stood by Harry's side. "You can't be serious!" She exclaimed, staring straight at Dumbledore.
"It is the rules, we cannot change what-"
"Yes you can!" She countered, crossing her arms. Blood pounded in her head. "You've done it before. It's also in the rules that there should be three champions. Not four." Everyone else was still slightly surprised at her sudden intrusion, but Dumbledore just calmly raised his hands.
"There is nothing we can do, the boy has to compete. Now, Miss Weasley, if you would escort your boyfriend to the Common Room. He looks quite shocked." Ginny could feel that already, but didn't say. Suddenly, all trust she had in the Headmaster dwindled. He was supposed to keep them safe. Not send fourteen year olds to compete illegally in tournaments where they could easily be killed.
But he was an authority, and Ginny knew he wasn't making a difference. She took a deep breath, glaring at every single person in the room, before she gently guided Harry back outside, blood boiling.
As they walked, she decided something. If he had to compete, she'd do everything in her power to make sure he came out of the tournament without any limbs missing. She'd make sure he was safe, and there was nothing in the world that could stop her.
