Ch. 48 Kisses Under Trees and Dreams

Another chapter!!! 😆
I've been getting better at staying on schedule, I'm happy to report! Hope you like this chapter, lots of fluff, and a tiny bit of angst (don't like writing about teenage angst, but I know lots of people like it, so...) Also, I've been reading Vampire academy, and two people in there have a Bond. I was wondering if you guys would hate me if I added one of their little 'abilities' to Harry and Ginny?

Harry and Ginny day by the lake every day on their break. Many times they were in different positions, the most common being Harry laying on his back with Ginny curled up next to him. Today they were sitting with their backs against the tree, out of direct sight from each other, but holding hands.

Ginny was reading silently, determined to get a O on the next test. Harry just sat watching the water and listening to her turn the pages. The sun was high in the sky, diluted slightly by the leaves above them. It was chilly, but their Bond kept them warm.

"Have you had any more dreams?" Harry asked, as was routine. Ginny paused, then flipped another page.

"No." She answered with a sigh, squeezing his hand. "But I've been feeling slightly apprehensive lately..." Harry rolled over so her was on his stomach, facing her. She glanced up at him, smiling slightly before turning back to her book.

"Gin, I'm worried about you... You've been feeling a lot more than just apprehensive." He stated, laying his head down. The tips of his hair brushed against her leg.

"I'm fine, Harry, I promise. Just a bit tired lately." She admitted, running her fingers through his hair. "You need a haircut." Harry noticed this quick subject change, but let it slide.

"You're not my mum." He groaned, flipping over onto his back. Ginny smiled slightly, but put her poker face back on quickly.

"No, I'm your girlfriend, and your Bondmate. You need a hair cut." She pressed a kiss to his forehead and he glared at her, rolling his eyes.

"You cut my hair, then." Harry retorted, staring at the sky. She scoffed, ruffling his hair slightly.

"Fine then, I will!" His eyes widened and he sat up quickly.

"What?" He asked, alarmed. Ginny smiled sweetly, kissing him before standing.

"I'll cut your hair, for Merlin's sake, it's too long." She held out her hand to pull him up.

"It's not too long, I don't want a haircut!" He gasped, scrambling after her. She smirked, satisfied that she'd teased him long enough.

"Well fine then, but you are going to cut it." Ginny paused on her way to the castle, turning around and kissing him slowly.

"Okay..." Harry murmured after she pulled away. Ginny grinned, grabbing his hand and pulling the two towards the castle.

"One last class and then we are free!"

"Until lunch."

"Right, until lunch."

Ginny decided she didn't like the Bouxbatons girls.

All they ever did was flirt and wink and act perfect. They were total nutters as well, she saw one literally cry over spilled milk once. Some were nice enough, but many annoyed her. Including the Delacour elder sister, she had caught Ron's eye and that was all he jabbered on about now. He never talked to the Bonded, but she knew he was starting to miss his friends.

Ginny sighed, listening to everyone talk about the Triwizard Tournament. She didn't know why everyone was obsessed with it, half the kids weren't even old enough to enter. She figured it must be the idea of danger that I ticked them, like the school didn't already have enough.

The names would be read the next day, and starting that would be the First challenge and so on. Ginny rubbed her eyes, taking another bite of food.

Gin? She heard Harry ask. His emotions leaked through the Bond even more, worry and love apparent. Every time Ginny felt the latter, a warm feeling spread through her. She glanced up and smiled, showing she was okay.

Tired. She explained, taking his hand. Harry nodded, though still feeling slight worry. Ginny kissed him, ignoring the gagging noises Ron and the twins made.

"Oh, shut it. At least I actually have a significant other, unlike you three." Ginny replied sassily, raising her eyebrows. The twins mimed being hurt, but Ron just sneered and turned back to his chicken leg. Ginny took a drink from her goblet, cringing at the sour tasting pumpkin juice.

The rest of dinner flew by and Ginny and Harry retreated to the Common Room. So far, they'd been lucky with homework, so they just sat together and talked.

"I have a bad feeling about this, Harry." She admitted, staring at the ceiling. A sick feeling had spread from her stomach, and she felt apprehensive all of the sudden.

"About what?" He asked, suddenly frightened. She heard his thoughts and quickly calmed him.

"Not about our relationship, this is the best decision I've ever made," Harry smiled at that, "Just about this entire year in general..." The sick feeling turned to nausea, and Ginny glanced up at him with wide eyes. He seemed confused, until he noticed her emotions and the look on her face.

"No no no! I'm not letting that happen again!" Harry practically shouted, scurrying over to her and taking her arms in his hands. The world was spinning and her eyes unfocused. The last thing she remembered was Harry pressing his lips against hers, and then everything was black.

Ginny woke up in a forest, the moonlight visible through the thick canopy of trees. It looked familiar, but Ginny still had no idea where she was.

She didn't want to sit up, afraid something might happen, but someone beat her to it.

"Finally, that old geezer can't keep me out of your head for long, now can he love?" A low voice said into her ear from behind her. She shivered. No one was allowed to call her 'love' like that but Harry. They had her arms in a firm grip, and she could smell their foul breath.

"No no!" The man exclaimed when Ginny tried to turn her head. Suddenly, her neck was stiff. "You don't get to see my face yet, baby, we've gotta have some fun first." She heard the sound of metal against metal as he brought out a knife. He put it in front of her eyes.

"See this? It's my pappy's knife. He always said that I needed to make get use of it, suppose this is a good way?" He pressed the cold blade to her lips and she whimpered slightly, suddenly overcome by fear. He laughed, trailing the tip down her jaw.

"Gee, you know your really pretty? Too bad I'm under strict orders... Potter's a lucky fellow" Bile rose in her throat, but she bit back her remarks. Whatever he was going to do to her, saying a smart remake would make it even worse.

"Hmm, I sure know a lot about you, but you don't know anything about me! Let's fix that, shall we?" She wanted to step forward and increase the space between them, but he had his arm firmly around her and a knife at her throat.

"Let's see... When I was a kid, my parents used to fight a lot. I didn't like that very much, so I put a stop to it. My mom wasn't as grateful as I thought she'd be, I was sent to a Muggle facility. There I was raised, and I've heard some things that a eight year old should never have known. But then they took me in, proud of my power. And here we are."

Suddenly Ginny was sure she knew who it was. Chimp man from her dream. She shivered, trying to move, but she was frozen.

"Today's just a social meeting, darling, we'll meet again. Under much better circumstances." Ginny shut her eyes, waiting for her to go back to being with Harry, but she just stood there.

"No goodbye?" The man asked, his lips against her ear. Ginny was trembling with anger, and kept her mouth shut. "I said, SAY GOODBYE!" He screamed in her ear, pressing the knife against her cheek. She felt a sting, and blood ran down her cheek.

"Goodbye!" She shouted back, and all of the sudden, she was falling backwards.
