Ch. 15
Friday
Ginny had been having these nightmares almost every night. Her wandering into the Chamber, being controlled by Tom. Her heart was beating so fast, she didn't think she could ever be calmed.
He taunted her, pushing her around and showing her horrible memories of murder and much worse. She felt the dream waver, and flicker like it was on a Muggle Tella vision.
Soon, he stopped talking and she started crying, collapsing wherever she was. She felt sand beneath her hands as she sobbed.
Two arms wrapped around her and tried to comfort her, but she just shook her head, laying down on the sand and curling into a ball. She never knew dreams could hurt so bad.
After about an hour, she sat up, still feeling the extreme sadness that wasn't her own. She saw Harry crouched next to her, tears silently rolling down his face. He caught her gaze and she scooted over slightly, wrapping her arms around his waist. He wrapped his own around her and they sat in complete silence.
"Harry?" Ginny asked tentatively. He nodded slightly and she looked up into his green eyes.
"It was him Harry..." She said softly. He shook his head and held her tighter.
"It's okay Ginny... It was just a nightmare" He said soothingly. "We have to report to Dumbledore tomorrow by the way... He said he needs to tell us something"
Ginny nodded and tried to keep from falling asleep, though she already was asleep, her conscious was still working. She wondered what Dumbledore would want to talk about.

Saturday
Ginny woke up that morning and quickly got dressed. She didn't bother with school robes and just threw on a pair of jeans and a Weasley sweater.
As she waited for Harry to wake up and come down to join her for the meeting with Dumbledore, she wondered what the Headmaster would be talking to them about. She hoped it was the reason for these dreams with Harry, and how they knew where the other was.
Though it was just her second year, Ginny already felt accustomed to her surrounding. Which proved helpful as she made her way to the Headmasters office with Harry. She supposed it was because of her brothers', especially Ron's, need to brag about being in Hogwarts. But it was most likely because of the trips she made unconsciously during her first year.
She shivered at the thought of waking up with blood on her hands and feathers stuck to her clothes, but not remembering how they got there.
Harry noticed the shiver and took her hand, as always causing a warm glow to wrap around their laced fingers. She sighed and continued walking, not showing the weakness to Harry. But of course, he knew her too well.
"Are you okay?" He asked as they neared the gargoyle outside of the Headmasters office.
"I'm fine" Was her default answer. He didn't push her for more, but she could feel the curiosity burning off of him. Like he could feel the sadness washing over her.
"Blueberry pasty" Harry said to the gargoyle. The statue moved over and they started up the stairs, going slower due to apprehension.
"I suppose we should just go in" Harry said, letting go of her hand after knocking on the door. He was cut off by a 'Enter' coming from inside.
He did so and Ginny followed closely behind. They both stood in shock at the sight of what was inside.
Dumbledore was stirring sugar into his tea while smiling warmly. He sat behind his desk with an almost ecstatic look on his face.
In front of him was a circle of three two seat couches, two of them full with, surprisingly, Mr. and Mrs. Potter and the Weasley parents.
"Ah!" Dumbledore proclaimed, standing up and causing the two sets of parents to turn and look over the seats. "Fashionably late, are we?" He said with a smile. The twelve and thirteen year olds stood there, frozen at the sight of their parents. "Come, Mr. Potter and Miss Weasley"
They did so and sat beside each other on the last available couch, they noticed the patterns on the couches were... Eccentric.... colors. Bright orange with red polka dots on the one where Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were sitting, and lime green with horizontal blue lines for the one with Mr. and Mrs. Potter sitting on it.
The one with Harry and Ginny sitting on it was by far the strangest. It was purple with little flowers over it, all different colors of reds and pinks with little hearts that seemed to pulse when the children sat down, making them blush.
"Aha" Dumbledore said "you have noticed the decorations" He said with a bright smile and a twinkle to his eyes. "I rather like the one you two are sitting on, it is charmed." He didn't elaborate any further leaving the children to their own conclusions which made them blush even more and try to cover all of the dancing hearts with their limbs.
The two sets of parents watched in amusement as the children became flustered at the older mans statement and refused to meet the others gaze. This conversation was going to be tough, but after all they've been through, the parents decided that now was better than never. The young couple, though they refused to admit it, was stubborn and wouldn't believe them. But, the two needed to train, and needed to learn to control their Bond and put it to good use.
When the two were reasonably settled, Dumbledore chuckled softly before staring.
"Okay, first of all, you are not going to be punished" He said, giving Molly a pointed look "for anything you say today"
The children exchanged glances and made to interrupt, but Albus held up a hand to silence them.
"You have done nothing wrong... That we know of anyway" He chuckled slightly again and became serious just as fast. "Just two more people to wait for and we'll start." He announced. At that moment, the fireplace lit up and Professor Lupin walked forward. Harry jumped up and hugged his Professor as Dumbledore conjured two more chairs for the guests.
At this moment, Padfoot came out of the fireplace and plowed into his friend. "Oi! Watch-" He cut himself off as he saw his fellow Maurader "MOONY!" He exclaimed, hugging his friend. Remus returned the hug and sat on the chair with Sirius on the opposite side of him.
Things now looked like a jury, Dumbledores desk on the right side, then moving in a semi circle, it went; Sirius, The Potter's, The Weasley's, ans Remus. Harry and Ginny were at the base of the semicircle, feeling slightly apprehensive.
"Alright you two" Dumbledore said to Sirius and Remus "Mr. Potter and Miss Weasley will not be teased or admonished for any of what they say today, are we clear?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. The two nodded and Dumbledore turned to Harry and Ginny.
"First and foremost, have you been experiencing anything different lately, please use all of your detail you can and do not leave anything out. This is important." He said very seriously. The two nodded and Ginny turned to Harry.
"Well, Professor, it started with being able to sense each other wherever we were" Harry started. He seemed to think very hard for a second, his eyebrows furrowed. "Then that started to get stronger. Then, we..." He looked at Ginny sheepishly "Um, we started dreaming, together. Like, we can talk to each other in our dreams and interact and all that" He said, looking down at his hands.
The adults exchanged glances, then looked back to the children. "Then" Ginny started this time "We started being able to sense each other's well, health state" She finished, looking over at Harry for elaboration.
"Yeah, after... Last year" He said the last phrase with a careful glance to Ginny "I could tell if she was okay or not" He finished.
"I guess the next one would be feeling each other's emotions" Ginny continued. "if he's sad, I feel it. If I'm upset, he knows."
"Then, I guess it would be this" Harry grabbed Ginny's hand and showed them the soft glow. The adults stared on in amazement.
"Just now"
"We"
"Can finish"
"Each other's"
"Sentences" Ginny finished. The adults still stared with amazement and a little bit of worry.
"Now we can barely last a day without talking to each other or holding hands or something. It gets us so depressed, it physically hurts to not be with her" Harry said quietly, checking Ginny's twinge of happiness and slight embarrassment.
"Same for me" She said. The Weasley matriarch looked like she wanted to suggest their immediate separation but stopped when she heard that it hurt without the other.
"Well" Dumbledore said, looking up from his notes "I'll let you four explain to the children what is happening." He offered. Lily snapped out of her reverie first and shifted so she was facing her son.
"Harry, Ginny" She started "We have found out that what you are feeling is called a Soul Bond"
"Soul Bond?" Harry asked. Lily nodded shortly, looking between Harry and his Bond Mate.
"Yes, you have the same soul. That is what happened during last year" She said the last two words with hesitation and a glance at Ginny. "That is why you are feeling these things and they will only get stronger. You will also have more abilities during these stages. Albus said you should be entering the second. By the time you are in seventh year, you should be at the fifth and final stage, which is physical abilities."
Dumbledore picked up from here "The first stage is subtle, mental abilities, you started this stage after last year" Another glance at Ginny which Harry noticed made her bubble with annoyance "The second is slightly physical but more mental like the first stage." That would explain how you know where the other is, and have dreams together and all you said. You must be still very early in this state if your souls need the other half, that means it is still developing. The third is completely magical and mental. The last is physical. Then, is the Bonding ceremony, by which we have no idea what will happen"
The children quickly clasped hands, feeling several pangs of sadness claw at their hearts. The adults noticed they did it at the same time, not looking at the other, keeping their gaze on Albus.
"Why didn't you tell us before?" Ginny asked, looking to her parents with anger in her eyes "I know you knew"
"Ginny" Mrs. Weasley started. She was cut off by her husband
"Ginny, we didn't want to scare you two" He finished.
"Why tell us now then?" Harry asked. Everyone looked to Dumbledore.
"And why are we here? This is a family issue" Sirius asked.
Dumbledore raised his hands to silence the group and pulled out a Penseive.
"This" He said tapping the side of the bowl. A holographic view of the teachers lounge came into view, with Dumbledore reading a knitting magazine and the rest of the teachers chattering. Trelawney stood suddenly from her heated conversation with Snape.
Prophecy
Born from light
The two take flight
Many years pass
A love that will always last
But when the time comes
The victims pile up
A hero in tatters
Very little matters
Two from destiny
Or two from fate
The two who are one
Calling for war
When life is done
A soul for a soul
Traded in life's greatest bargain
But little will know
When their life starts again
Everyone was in a shocked silence, no one made a single movement. Then, every head turned to Harry and Ginny, who looked at each other.
"This prophecy clearly says that one of you two" Albus said "Has to kill Voldemort" Everyone froze. "And according to another prophecy, it will be Harry"
Ginny threw her arms around her best friend, who held her, but still watched Dumbledore with a shocked look.
"Dumbledore..." James said tentatively "It said-"
"No matter what it says, James. Prophecies can be two sided. Now, for you two" Albus said, gesturing to Remus and Sirius.
"I need you, Sirius, to help them with DADA. I know Remus teaches it, but he can't plan all those lessons plus the ones he already has." Sirius nodded slightly. "I suppose every weekend will be okay"
"And Remus, I need you to help them with controlling the bond, and different types of Occlumency, plus, I believe it would be useful if the two were to become Animagi."
"Why do they need Occlumency and to become an Animagus?" Molly asked. Dumbledore looked over.
"Occlumency will insure someone cannot find out about their gift without them knowing, and insure no one will get into one of their minds, then have easy access to the other's. Becoming Animagi will, as you know, increase their instincts and be helpful when fighting. I believe you were the one to teach the other three Mauraders to be Animagi, if I am correct" Albus informed him.
Everyone agreed and looked over to the two shocked kids who were still holding onto each other for dear life. Each set of parents went over to wrap their arms around their children while the remaining went over to talk to Albus about times for their respective classes.
When everyone was dismissed and the parents on their way home, you could find a black haired boy clutching to his Bond Mate at the top of the Astronomy tower, crying softly as he debated what one of the lines of the prophecy meant.
'the hero in tatters'
He debated this until he softly fell asleep to the smell of wildflowers and vanilla.
Comment and tell me what you think the Prophecy means! I'll give a shout out to whoever is closest! Peace✌🏻️
