Richter let go of Cordelia and she glared down at them all with hateful eyes.

"Richter dispose of them immediately." She took out Subaru's silver knife, the one he had given to Chi who gave to it Yui so she could protect herself. "Do it right now and be sure to make the girl's death excruciatingly painful." She demanded.

"Let me see that." He said taking the knife. "This is Subaru's silver knife, isn't it? It's highly lethal one stab to the heart with this thing and it's lights out for any one of them."

"Yes they would disintegrate instantly without any pain, that only goes to show how very much I love them but as for the girl I want you to rip her apart limb by limb. Now dispose of them quickly and I will be more than happy to make you the next head of the family." She said with wide eyes.

"So if I kill them for you, you swear to make me the head of the family?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Well that's strange."

"Huh?" Cordelia turned her green eyes on him as he looked down at the knife in his hands.

"I was under the impression that we'd already agreed upon that. Was it not one of the terms we discussed when I saved you as you lay dying? You solemnly swore that if I saved your life...you would grant ultimate authority over this family...to me."

"Richter, you must know that I do anything you desire my darling." She said taking his arm and resting her head on it. "Well hurry up and dispose of these pesky boys and that good for nothing girl, do it for me won't you?"

"You are a fool." Cordelia let go of his arm and looked up at him. Chi and the others were still watching in silence, wondering what exactly was going on before them. "You're useless to me like this, nothing but damaged goods. Do you really think I want you in this condition? The only thing I really need is your heart. Once I awaken the girl who possess your heart and make her mine I will become the next head of the family and I can do it all without your assistance." Cordelia began to back away from him while Chi clenched her fist, he was going to do what to Yui? Kanato gently squeezed her hand, reassuring her that it was okay.

"So you've been planning this from the very moment that I entrusted you with my heart?" Cordelia asked. "Tell me that's not true."

"Oh dear, did you only just realize?" Richter turned to face her. "You're not the one who's been using me all this time...I am the one who has been using you." He grabbed Cordelia by the wrist and pulled her into him. He held her up and went to bite her neck. Chi's eyes widened, no, she thought. She was about to run to her sister when Kanato stopped her from moving. He didn't look at her, he just simply wouldn't release her of his iron grip.

"Hey." Called Ayato's voice as he appeared on the balcony behind Richter and Cordelia. Richter stopped in his tracks. "I've had it with both of you. Would you just shut the hell up already? Get your paws of her she's mine. You may not touch her without my say so." Richter reached behind him and grabbed a sword from the rack and he pointed it at Ayato angrily.

"Don't you dare interfere." He warned him as he lunged forward and swung the sword at Ayato while still holding onto Cordelia's limp body. Ayato jumped backwards but the end of the red material he always wore around his neck was chopped off by Richter's sword.

"Why you..." Ayato said under his breath.

"Hey Ayato." Called Laito as he grabbed a sword from the rack and threw it too Ayato. He caught it skillfully and readied himself.

"You're free ride is now officially over Richter. I will make you regret the first moment you entered this house."

"What are you doing to do about it?" Richter asked with a smirk. "You gutless worm." The their swords clashed and sparks flew in every direction. Chi's eyes widened, can Ayato really sword fight. She never knew that but then again she didn't really know a lot about the other brothers, she had only ever taken a real interest in Kanato, but even then she didn't know a lot about the boy she claimed to love. They clashed again and again, Richter was gaining ground, forcing Ayato to move backwards further and further. Their swords were fighting for power but Richter won, sending Ayato backwards until his back his the wall. Richter kept on coming forward and stabbed Ayato in the left shoulder. Ayato glared while Richter smirked and pulled the sword out of his shoulder. Blood sprayed everywhere and Ayato's should fell to the ground. He fell to the ground clutching at his injured shoulder. Richter lifted the sword above his head.

"Stay right where you are." He ordered. Ayato didn't seem to have any intention of restraining and then....

"Ayato." That was Yui's voice. The green eyes were gone and instead they were Yui's pink ones. Chi felt relieved, she was okay, she was alive. She had been alive in there all that time. "I-I..." She stuttered making Richters eyes widen. Yui shoved Richter off her and began to run down the stairs. Kanato let go of Chi's hand, mostly out of shock at what had just happened like the others but Chi took her chance to run towards her sister.

"Yui!" She called.

"Chi." Yui replied happy to see her. Chi stopped in her tracks when she saw that Yui had Subaru's silver knife in her hand. She lifted it up with shaky hand and looked at it.

"Yui...." Chi trailed off. Yui held it out in front of her and closed her eyes, steadying herself. Everyone's eyes widened. "Yui no." Chi called her for some reason her legs were frozen to the spot. She couldn't move from shock and fear. Yui opened her eyes again.

"I'm doing this so no one else will get hurt." She said. She closed her eyes again and plunged the knife into her chest. After a second she began to fall to the floor but both Ayato and Chi rushed forward at the same time. They caught Yui together. Ayato on one side, Chi on the other.

"Her heart is mine." Richter shouted pulling out his sword again. Ayato, taking his chance stabbed his Uncle in his unprotected abdomen. Richter's sword fell to the floor with a clatter and Ayato pulled his sword out. Blood sprayed everywhere and Richter fell the the ground. Ayato glanced at Chi from the side who silently nodded her thanks to him for protecting Yui.

"Yui...Yui please wake up." Chi begged as she looked down at her sister. Tears began to prick at her eyes.

"Open your eyes." Ayato demanded and Yui obeyed but when she did it wasn't her. Instead it was Cordelia.

"Only a foolish girl would stab herself. A stupid move that that just makes me laugh." Chi and Ayato gritted their teeth in anger. "It's just a matter of time until the awakening's complete and she dies for good and when that time comes both her body and her very soul...will be mine and mine alone until the end of time." With that she closed her eyes again.

"No, no this can't be happening. I told her I'd get her out of her alive." Chi said as a tear rolled down her cheek. Ayato just watched her silently. "She has to wake up, this can't be the end." Chi took her sister's head and placed it on her lap. "You can't be dead...you can't. I don't know what to do without you. Please don't let her win this battle. You're not that weak I know you're not. I remember at school when the kids used to bully me because I was so weird you always stuck up for me...even when I didn't stick up for myself. If you can stick by someone like me all this time then there's no way you can let yourself die here."

"I can't believe she'd go and stab herself. It seems our little bitch has got guts after all." Said Laito.

"She's caused a lot of trouble...for a girl who was meant to be bait." Chi could barely hear what they were saying. Her eyes were still fixed on Yui, hoping that she was open them still.

"So what happens next? Do you think her body with disappear?" Asked Kanato.

"Subaru...what should I do?" Ayato asked him. "Is it okay to pull the knife out now?" He placed his hand on it.

"Wait." Subaru said bending down next to Chi to look at Yui's body. "You should let me do it." He reached over and pulled the silver knife from her chest.

"So that's it? She gone?" Chi asked quietly. No one answered her question though. "So that how it is huh? I was meant to protect her, I was meant to stop this from happening but in the end I could do nothing...just now pathetic am I?"

"Asking such questions will do no good." Reiji told them. Lay her body down on the sofa, I'll go and see if there is anything I can do to save her." Chi looked over at him in silence.

"Chi..." Said Ayato actually using her name for the first time. "I'll take her there but I need you to let go." Chi looked back down at her sister and nodded. Then she let go of her sister's lifeless body...
