"Everyone. The person of the hour. Jesstoni Del Mundo." The host of the party announced and I received an earful applause.

I gave my audience a short smile and stepped on the podium.

"Thank you for coming to the party. I know all of you have something better to do." I joked that earned a laugh from everyone. "Maybe some ought to spend some time with their special someone or it's movie time with their kids or perhaps, their me time. I would like everyone to know that I appreciate your presence in this party. To cut this speech short, I want all of us acquainted, or shoud I say, you and me, before the night ends. Who knows, maybe, we can learn a lot from each other, right?"

" I know right. " The man in his gray suit interjected and the crowd gave a soft chuckle.

"Let's just enjoy the evening, shall we?" I said and with one last polite smile, retreated from the podium. Applause once again filled the function hall and I took that chance to leave the venue through the back door.

Romeo passed by me and gave me the signal to our secret room inside the hotel.

Grabbing our own weapons and personal gadgets, we went to our positions inside the busy hall before cueing our fellow agents.

Mr. Justin Monteverde, a notorious drug dealer, is our target for tonight. His prospects today are the government officials. His usual comrades in the trade has been business CEOs and COOs, that's why, our boss was alarmed when a close confidante of the Mayor told him about tonight's agenda.

And, in my very own party! What a crap! Can't they just do it elsewhere where my family's name won't be ruined?

People might think I'm one of them if we don't get this under control.
