Four
After about three days, I was able to mingle with some people of the so-called 'federacion'.
Their names were Kaka, Bibi and Chichi.
Right, you're not reading it wrong. Their names were actually those things.
And if you're wondering where I met them, of course, in the parlor where I had my hair cut.
"Ay! Ayan na si Papi Toni! Napapadalas ka dito ha! Siguro may bet ka sa aming mga vakla!" Kaka exclaimed while she was trimming the hair of a client.
I flashed them a grin and marveled at how easily they brighten up someone's day because of their cheerful and perky behavior.
"Ay, pak! Nginitian lang ako ni Papi! Sinetch itey!" Kaka asked intriguingly when her client frowned and butted in.
"Baka naman matusok mata ko dyan ha!" The client protested as her bangs were being styled by Kaka.
Chichi and Bibi laughed at the sides. I shook my head in amusement and sat on one of their waiting chairs.
Today is Thursday and within three days, I am planning to see Amanda from afar.
Actually, plano ko ng simulan ang plano na mapakilala ang sarili ko sa kanya without appearing awkward and creepy.
"Ikaw naman, mamsh! Kalma lang ang blood pressure, mamsh! Wag magtaray, baka hindi bumagay!" Kaka shot back and the customer just rolled her eyes at her.
"So, why oh why are you here, Papi Toni?" Chichi asked and handed me a refreshment that she prepared for me.
"I just want to hang out with you, girls. What time will you be closing up today?" I simply asked and consciously ruffled my hair as I looked at myself in their full body mirror.
"Yieee! Sabi ko na eh! Ako talaga ang bet ni papi! " Bibi squealed and almost jumped from her seat across mine. I couldn't help it but to laugh at her reaction
Bibi is the youngest of the three and probably the most bubbly among their squad.
Chichi is the oldest and obviously the most silent and strict in their group. She mostly handles their earnings and checks that each one of their customers are satisfied and happy with their looks.
Kaka, on the other hand, is younger than Chichi and the mediator between the two.
According to Kaka, those two often get on each others' throats as Bibi being impulsive and Chichi being domineering in their attitudes.
Shortly after the client complained, Kaka was done with her.
It's past four in the afternoon and they immediately put on their CLOSED signage on their door.
The three friends hurried to their rooms and grabbed whatever it was and are now in front of me.
All were armed with their kikay pink and red sling bags.
"Saan ang ganap naten, Papi?" Bibi asked and started to cling to my left arm and Kaka clung to my right.
I heard Chichi sighed and might have thought that she has no choice but to lock their door.
"I was thinking for an early dinner out with you, girls." I honestly said and I pressed on my car key remote of my red maserati.
"Ang gwapo ng auto mo, Papi! Kasing gwapo mo!" Kaka exclaimed and hugged the car hood while Bibi pulled out her cellphone to snap a selfie of hers in front of my car.
I watched with amusement as Kaka pulled Chichi towards them and the three gays snapped their groufie.
"Halika na dito, Papi! Let's take a groufie!" Bibi said and it was her turn to pull me towards them and she shoved me to the center with Chichi.
Us, four, posed for a couple of shots and they even requested me to pout and make a wacky shot with them.
"Sayang sya! Gwapo pa naman! Bakla lang!" I heard a group of young women whispered to each other as they passed by us.
"Pag magbubulungan kayo, siguraduhin nyong kayo lang ang makakarinig!" Kaka yelled at them and they scurried away from us. "Chusera masyado mga taong 'to! Mema lang!"
"Kalma, sissy! Ang heart! Ang beauty!" Bibi comforted her and she pushed her inside the car.
"Come on, it's getting dark. Hop inside. I had reserved our spot in my fave restaurant." I said and the girls immediately followed.
I hopped in the driver's seat and Kaka sat on the passenger's side. Chichi and Bibi sat at the back.
I started the car and awkward silence filled the air.
I drove them to an Eat-All-You-Can restaurant and their then sad eyes now sparkled with excitement.
"I know you guys are famished. Let's go inside and dig in." I winked at them and they seemed oblivious to the people around them as they took turns hugging me in delight.
I had to chuckle at their enthusiasm. Their simple joys made me realize that even small things can bring happiness to people.
I barely get to enjoy these simple things because of the pressure the society gave to me in the business world.
It's a good thing I met these kind and happy souls.
