Fifteen

I sighed and yawned as soon as I hit the bed. It had been two days since we visited Kristina's parents in her hometown.

And, as soon as we got home, I resumed to being the perky and gay version of myself.

I know I like Amanda. But ever since Kristina came into the picture, she's all I ever think about.

I groaned inwardly realizing the mess I got myself into.

I grunted in frustration when my stomach growled to complain.

Right. I haven't been feeding him for a while now.

I turned my eyes to the direction of the wall clock and saw that it was almost lunch time. And I had skipped breakfast because of waking up late.

Thankfully, today's the weekend.

Not much to do.

I stood up and fixed my bed, went to shower and downstairs into the kitchen, only to be greeted by the annoying Romeo.

"Sup, baks?" He smirked at me, my blue apron tied to his waist.

"Quit it. Ang aga masyado for your jokes." I commented rolling my eyes.

And just like that, a whiff of pork steak's aroma met my nostrils.

"Mabuti naman at may kusa ka." I remarked and sat on the stool at the kitchen counter. "Akala ko, forever feel at home ka na eh."

"Ouch. Saket." Romeo held his chest and acted as if he was in pain and laughed shortly after. "I was able to have some time to roam around the supermarkets the other day and I thought that it has been some time since we had this dish. Sakto pang nagcrave ako." He winked and I exhaled.

"Daming satsat. Quick. Serve me that dish." I said and pulled open the refrigerator to get us some water.

"Opo, mahal na hari." He joked and finished the steak. I helped him by getting us some plates and a generous amount of rice.

Pretty soon, we had our mouths filled with food and a comfortable silence around us.

Thinking about how I suddenly got hungry earlier made me realize that I haven't been paying attention to myself lately.

I never missed out on meals and never stayed up this late. Until things got hectic.

Both in the real world and in the agency.

As our stomachs become satiated, our responsibilities as members of the agency began to come up again.
Our phones rang and his name appeared on the screens of our devices.

Both Romeo and me looked at each other and he stood up to answer it at the living room while I stayed at the kitchen counter.

"Yes, Boss Strike?" I asked him and chewed on my steak.

"Is Romeo with you?" He asked, his voice serious.

"He's in the living room. Why?" I told him.

"You both have a new mission. And it involves the two of you. I want to see you both at the headquarters tonight. 8pm." He said and hung up.

I put down my phone and Romeo met my gaze from the living area.

"Looks like, we won't be getting the rest we both deserve." He commented shaking his head. "Gusto kong matulog ng payapa! Bakit hindi muna aprubahan ang leave ko!" He whined and I chuckled.

"Asa ka pa.. Lalo pa ngayon na mukhang involve tayo sa mission na ito." I remarked and drank the water on my glass. "Will be in the gym and be home by three. Wag mong ubusin stocks ko ha." I said and left him there to change into my gym clothes.

I need to stay fit.

I must be fit.

If this mission involves us, it must be really serious.

I just hope I can finally get some leads to my parents' case.

Quick.

Real quick.
