Chapter Seventeen

I sat in my dorm room staring out the window towards the Hogwarts grounds. I wore my Gryffindor sweatshirt with the hood pulled over my head, and a blanket wrapped tightly around my body. It was cold, but that wasn't why I was exiling myself from everyone down in the common room who was celebrating after the second task. It was because I felt like a freaking idiot. I couldn't believe Draco was using me, all because his father had asked him to.

I twiddled with the charm bracelet on my wrist that Draco had given me for Christmas. What a lie, was all I thought. Like I had to wonder if he took pleasure in watching me smile every time he kissed me or held my hand, and had to wonder if all the Slytherins knew about what was going on. But I doubt Draco would let something like that get around with my brother in the same house. I felt my eyes getting blurry as the inevitable tears were threatening to fall once more. I ripped the bracelet off my wrist before throwing it fiercely across the room, my quidditch aim proving deadly even with something much smaller than a quaffle.

I smirked at the ruined gift that was lying on the floor and huddled farther into my blanket, watching the darkness of night come over the tall tress of the forbidden forest. I heard the door to the room creak open and sighed to look over and see who was entering. I wasn't surprised at all that it was Hermione that was walking in, she wasn't one for parties.

"Oh Ali, I was wondering where you went!" Hermione exclaimed walking to sit by me under the window. I just scooted back on the bench to make room for her and kept my stoic glance out the window.

"What's the matter, you're tied for first place!" Hermione said cheerfully patting me gently on the leg. I looked over at her and the second she saw the tears running down my face, her smile fell. "Ali, what happened?" she asked her voice laced with pure concern.

I sighed before wiping the tears that were resting on my cheeks. I wasn't really even sure as to why I was still crying, probably just from feeling like a complete idiot for believing a guy actually wanted anything to do with me besides a quidditch partner.

"I was an idiot ,Mione." I said quietly and pulled the blanket from around my body to cover both of our legs that were facing each other. "Malfoy was using me, because his father asked him to get close to me." I said closing my eyes to prevent any more tears from falling that already had.

"And please don't say I told you so, I know everyone warned me about him." I added angrily, realizing I should have listened to all of my friends.

"I would never tell you that Ali, you're one of my best friends." She said giving me one of her friendly smiles.

"I should have known it was fake, why would any guy want me anyway." I said sadly playing with the fringed ends of my red blanket. Hermione surprised me when she slapped the side of my head. I winced in pain and looked up at Hermione shocked, she was looking at me appalled.

"You're gorgeous and funny, you're a powerful pure blood witch who tames dragons like they're pixies!" She said waving her hands around like she normally did when she was telling a story.

I couldn't help but laugh at Hermione who looked like her head was about to explode. "I'm sorry Mione," I said through my laughter, but ended up just falling off the bench onto the floor.

Hermione was looking down at me with bewilderment before she started giggling herself. "You're right, I'm bad ass." I said nodding me head into the wooden floor. I looked to Hermione who raised one of her eyebrows before we both fell back into fits of laughter, I really don't even know why we were laughing but after the day I had it felt nice.

We spent hours laughing and chatting about girl things way into the late night. It was only when the other girls ran in drunk from the party, and slipped on the spilled pieces of bracelet on the floor, did we finally get up clean up our mess and go to bed.

The next morning I decided to get back at Malfoy the way my sister got back at their boyfriends, by making them miss what they didn't have any more. It was Saturday so I didnt have to wear my uniform, which worked in my favor. Usually I was a pretty modest person when it came to what I wore, and I didn't really have any revealing clothing, but I was a witch and I would use that to my advantage. It was February and cold so I opted to wear some tight dark skinny jeans with my black heeled boots over them, and a tight black tank top that I pulled down pretty far to give me more cleavage than normal. My breasts weren't as large as my sisters, but they weren't small by any means.

I magically changed my hair so it was platinum blonde like my sisters instead of it's normal light brown. And used some of Hermione's leftover eyeliner from the yule ball. I grabbed the tiny bag filled with the broken pieces of Draco's bracelet and headed out of my dorm. Hermione was right, I was a bad ass witch who would be damned if I would cry over Draco Malfoy.

The common room wasn't as busy as it normally was for this time of day, but then again half the house was up partying late last night. A few first years were working on homework in the corner, Seamus was asleep on the couch with what looked like magical ink smeared on his face. And Ron and Harry were playing wizards chess.

"Hi guys." I said standing beside their table. Ron looked up and his face went beet red before trying to keep his eyes away from my cleavage. Harry looked up confused at his friends reaction before his eyes went wide and he accidentally made all of the chess pieces fall onto the ground.

"Umm Ali, what's going on?" Harry asked looking at my new hair color confused.

"Revenge on a ferret." I shrugged.

Harry and Ron looked to each other before smiling and standing up from their chess game. "What did he do?" Ron asked, his smiling faltering for a moment.

"It wasn't real, he was just using me." I said playing with the ends of my long blonde hair. Harry looked furious all of sudden, and Ron I could see was clenching his fists. I smiled at them before gently placing a hand on both of their arms.

"Don't worry about him, I'm not. I'm just going to make him see what he's missing." I said giving my best friends a wink. Ron and Harry's goofy grins returned before I linked arms with them and we left the common room to go down to breakfast. My heeled boots put me a few inches taller than Harry, and only slightly taller than Ron, but since Draco was taller than all three of us they would hopefully put me right at eye level with him. Several people were looking at me like I was some new student, but I'm sure the fact that I was with Harry and Ron gave my identity away.

Around the fifth floor I saw my brother running up the staircase probably towards the Gryffindor tower to see me. He totally missed me walking in the opposite direction beside him on the stairs, I laughed before reaching out and grabbing his arm. He jerked out of my grasp before he looked up and saw it was me.

"Ali bear!" he exclaimed and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Hi Damian." I laughed before pulling away out of his vulcan death grip.

"What's with all this." Damian asked pulling a strand of my now blonde hair. "You look like Aurora."

"Making Draco miss me." I shrugged.

"That's my girl." He said wrapping an arm around my shoulder and walking me down the staircase leaving Ron and Harry behind.

"You can have her back later boys!" My brother called over his shoulder and walking with me down the stairs. I laid my head on my brother's shoulder as we waited for the fourth floor staircase to start moving again.

"Have you see him?" I asked quietly.

He looked down to me and nodded "Yeah, he doesn't look too happy." He smiled.

He had a mischievous glint in his eye which told me he was probably messing with Draco more than he let on.

It didn't take long for me to find Draco's blonde head, as he saw me first and was already walking in my direction. I stiffened immediately, suddenly becoming very nervous to face him. My brother's arm gripped my tighter around my shoulders, and before I knew it Draco was standing in front of us. I could hear all conversation die down in the great hall, all eyes on us which wasn't helping the nerves floating around in my stomach.

"Ali, can I talk to you please?" Draco asked softly, not even bothering looking me in the eye.

"Talk." Damian growled at his former friend, I know they would never be the same after what Draco said and Draco would have have hell to pay with him until Damian graduates.

"Alone." Draco sneered  up at my brother. I gently removed Damian'a arm from around my shoulders and stepped forward to where I was only inches away from Draco who was looking at my brother still.

"Look at me." I told him crossing my arms across my chest. Draco's eyes shifted from Damian slowly over to me, where his grey eyes went wide fully taking in my different appearance. I smirked as I saw him getting nervous standing in front of me.

Draco breathed out before finally speaking to me "Ali, I didn't mean what I said yesterday, None of that is true." He said. I just raised an eyebrow at his pathetic excuse for an apology.

"That's a load of crap." I laughed with a shake of  my head. I couldn't see Damian, but I could feel his angry energy fuming behind me.

"It's true, I was just trying to keep up appearances. The Slytherins didn't like me being with a Gryffindor." Draco said looking behind him to the Slytherin house who was staring at him in confusion.

"Damian's a Slytherin, he has sisters in every house, do you think he cares about any of that?" I asked looking behind him to see Andi and Aurora coming over and standing off to the side to see what was going on. Draco just shrugged and looked back down to his shoes. Pathetic.

"You know I may be a Gryffindor but there must be something special if your daddy wanted you to play nice with me. Gryffindor or not." I told him with as much attitude as I could come up with.

Draco looked shocked at what I said and totally lost at what to say. I pulled out the little bag that held the broken bracelet and tossed it at him. "Here, good luck fixing i.t" I said as Draco caught the little bag in his hands.

"Ali, Please!" Draco said reaching out to grab my arms in his, but I just jerked out of his grasp. And Damian stepped forward still fuming the second Draco laid his hands on me.

"I'm a Gryffindor, my blood is probably purer than yours, I'm a Hogwarts champion so I guess I'm pretty special, but who are you? A coward who listens to his daddy too much, in my book that makes you nothing." I growled menacingly. I wasn't quite sure where this side of me was coming from, must be the hair. But it felt good sticking up for myself. Draco was visibly shaking, fists clenched by his sides. He wore a mixture between sad and angry on his pointed face, and I knew my words had a deeper impact on him that his words had on me.

"Go away." I whispered to him, but he still stood his ground. I could see out of the corner of my eye Damian eager to step in.

"I said go away!" I said even louder waving my hand in the direction of his Slytherin table. Draco left but not in the way I expected.Draco had flewn across the room in the very direction I pointed, and landed hard on the Slytherin table. What the hell happened, my wand wasn't even with me it was in my room. The Slytherins looked from Draco's moaning body up at me with shocked expressions, but no one could be as shocked as me.
