Chapter Eighteen
"Ms. Soloria, Please come with me." I heard someone say behind me, I turned to see a very confused looking Professor Mcgongall. Draco was being helped down from the Slytherin table he had been thrown onto, and he was moaning in pain. I was still standing in shock, by the entrance to the great hall, everyone's eyes completely on me. I was uncomfortable under the gazes of the curious students, and was happy to turn around and follow my head mistress.
"Yes ma'am." I said and quickly and quietly followed her up the grand stair case.
We walked in complete silence until we came upon a statue of a giant eagle. "Sherbert Lemon." Mcgonagall said and the statue soon transformed itself into a spiral staircase. "Dumbledore's waiting for you Ms. Soloria." Mcgonogall said motioning for me to walk up the staircase. I nodded to her once before ascending up the stairs.
"Ah, Alisanna my dear." Dumbledore said when I entered his room slowly. I jumped slightly as Dumbledore was nowhere to be seen, and yet he was clearly speaking to me.
"Um Professor?" I asked softly, looking around for my older grey haired headmaster.
"Right here my dear." he said walking around a corner of a rather tall bookshelf. I gave him a small nervous smile before sitting down in front of his desk like he gestured me to. "I know you must be very confused as to what is happening with you." Dumbledore said leaning against his large wooden desk.
"Confused would be an understatement." I laughed anxiously , picking at my fingernails like I did when I was nervous. Dumbledore just smiled before continuing on.
"Now, while all witches are special I think you may have something a little more exceptional to you." He said, doing nothing but leaving me even more confused.
"I would like to try out some tests with you, but from everything I have seen with the tournament and what Professor Moody has told me, I think you may have a very rare mind control ability." Dumbledore said, his smile growing larger.
My eyebrows knitted together in confusion when he said this, I still had no idea what he was talking about. I was no special witch, I was just Alisanna. Someone who had been entered into a dangerous tournament by chance, just a normal teenage girl who loved Quidditch and had a secret crush on my best friend, surely there was nothing extraordinary about me, right?
"Mind control?" I asked raising an eyebrow. Dumbledore just nodded.
"I know strange things have been happening to you Ms.Soloria, like the thing with Moody on the first day, and Mr.Malfoy just now in the great hall." He said with a tilt of his head.
"Yes sir." I mumbled, looking down at my very short fingernails as the stress of everything lately has made me chew them off several times.
"I would like you to work with Moody tonight and see just what we are working with, are you ok with that?" He asked with a happy grin. I thought for a moment about what I would be doing with Moody, my strange professor who had a small anger problem. The one who eyed me and Harry a little too long, who gave me knots in my stomach in the worst way.
"That's fine." I mumbled still staring down at my fingers.
"This is nothing bad Ali, It's really a wonderful thing, now Professor Moody will be waiting in his office for you at five PM." He said walking past me to open the staircase to his office.

The rest of the day was just as I expected, students giving me confused and worried glances about what happened this morning, and all I could think about was the lesson I would be having with Moody that night. The day dragged on slowly, but eventually I was standing outside of Moody's classroom waiting to go inside.
"Get in here girl!" I heard him call from inside the room, I jumped surprised he knew I was out here.Who was I to question it, he was an auror for god knows how long.
"Hi Sir." I said timidly as I pushed open the wooden door to his classroom and closed it softly behind me. Moody's classroom was rather dark with only a few candles lit around on the walls, but his large form stuck out at the front of the classroom.
"Ready to get to work now?" His gruff voice asked, every step he took around the room echoed because of his wooden peg leg.
"Yes." I answered quietly and walked up to the front of the room with Moody. Moody pulled out a small miniature dragon, it was black with blood red spikes and it was breathing tiny bursts of fire into the air. It was tiny, but was completely realistic and alive.
"Now, I want you to focus on what you want the dragon to do. It's a rowdy one so be careful." Moody said as the dragon continuously breathed fire barely missing his fingers.
I walked closer and looked closely at the small dragon, come here, I thought to myself in my head. I closed my eyes and all I could picture was the dragon perched on my tiny shoulder. I felt a small weight hit my right shoulder and opened my eyes to see the small black dragon looking to me with a tile of it's head. I smiled at him and reached over and gently ran my finger down it's long neck, the dragon lifted it's head in response.
I looked around the room and noticed a small bird sitting on the window sill minding it's own business. I looked down into the dragon's eyes once more and willed it to attack, I don't know why that was the first action that came to mind but it did.
The dragon nodded it's head to me once before flying swift as the wind toward the open window. It swooped down and captured the tiny bird in it's small jaws, the bird letting out a cry of pain. I couldn't help but feel terrible that I had sent the dragon after that helpless tiny bird, and what frightened me the most was that I didn't have to thing twice before doing it.
"Nice job, Ms.Soloria." Moody said patting me on the back, but my eyes still stayed glued to the dragon that was devouring the now dead bird across the room. When I finally tore my eyes away I saw Moody was looking over joyous at what I had done, he looked so excited it scared me and I looked away from him.
"Don't be frightened girl, that is one of the most spectacular abilities I have seen yet." He said with a clap of his hands.
"Are you up for some wand less magic?" Moody asked as he slipped the small dragon back into a medium sized cage. I nodded my head slowly and took a seat at one of the desks. Moody instructed me to move several objects around my desk without use of my wand or touching them with my hands. It was quite easy for me and after about twenty minutes of doing so, I had not only the objects on my desk moving around but I had the windows opening and shutting, the doors were slamming and the candles were flickering on and off. It was this indescribable feeling of power running through me as I was controlling every object in the classroom.
"Amazing! I have not seen power like this in years!" Moody exclaimed, pure exuberance evident on his scarred face. I smiled slightly as I was enjoying this unique feeling I had never had before.
"Now this next task might prove tricky but I want you to try and control a human for me" Moody said waving his wand and making all of the activity that was going on around us come to a halt. My snapped up to look at him with eyebrows raised.
"I can't do that Professor, it isn't right." I said shaking my head. It was completely unethical and not to mention illegal to control a human being.
"It's quite alright Alisanna, you will just do it on me, no harm done." Moody answered.
"Now do to me what you did to the dragon, just dont make me eat a ruddy bird." Moody said shaking his head before stepping forward and standing in front of me. I stood up from my seat and tried my best to calm my shaking fingers as I realized what could happen if something went wrong.
I closed my eyes and thought only about my peg legged professor that stood only feet away from me. I didn't know what I could think about him doing that wouldn't hurt him in the process, So I figured making him dance would be a safe bet. I thought about Professor Moody dancing the salsa by himself, tripping over his peg leg, arms wide open as if dancing with an invisible partner.
I giggled at the picture I created in my head, and when I opened my eyes I laughed even harder as the sight I pictured was the sight before me. Moody was spinning in circles and waving his arms frantically around, tripping several times over his wooden leg. My laughter died down quickly as I realized what I had done, I had in fact controlled the actions of someone else, not an inanimate object or an animal, no this was an actual person. It was like I was my own personal Imperio curse and that was a scary thought. The power I realized that I had, had me confused, as I didn't know if I should be happy or terrified...
