CHAPTER 10

Kongpob sighed. It's been three weeks since he had seen Arthit or had any clue about him. The latter had disappeared. For the two weeks he was in the hospital he was glad Arthit didn't come after that night giving him time to think. But he had noticed how Arthit would come at midnight, thinking he was asleep Arthit would kiss him on his forehead and then leave. He knows that April is still in touch with Arthit but he didn't have the courage to ask her about him. He felt guilty for pushing him away even though it wasn't Arthit's fault that things happened like that.

April tried to talk to him but Simon always came between them. Simon was becoming overprotective. He didn't allow April and Kongpob to mingle much and he didn't allow Kongpob to go to office.

'You wanted to see that Arthit, right!? I'm not allowing you to see him! You're my husband, Kongpob!'

Simon had shouted at him when he asked him the permission to go to office.

Kongpob leaned against that rail of the balcony. He was alone home, only Wang was outside at the parking lot if he needed him.  He stared at his phone contemplating whether he should call his mom or not. It's been long since he talked to her but he didn't want to breakdown when he hear his mother's voice. It's hard for him to act as if everything is okay when nothing is fine.

Kongpob raised an eyebrow when he saw the phone ringing with an unknown ID. He answered the phone and placed it on his ears.

"Hello, is this Mr. Kongpob?"

"Yes, who's this?" Kongpob asked.

"Sir, I'm Miss. Raven, April's class teacher."

Kongpob felt uneasy suddenly, "Yes miss. What's the matter?"

"Sir, can you please come to the hospital near the school?" The teacher asked.

"What happened miss?" Kongpob asked worried.

"Well Sir...mm...April is admitted in the hospital, can you please come?"

Kongpob felt as if his world shattered. His hands shaking, his voice breaking as he said that he would arrive soon.

******

"Miss?"

Kongpob called out when he reached in front of the room April was admitted in.

"Oh, Mr. Kongpob. Nice meeting you," the teacher shook hands with Kongpob who gave a shy smile back at her.

"Oh, hi Dr. Priya," Kongpob found the doctor coming out of the room his daughter was in.

"Hello Kongpob," Priya shook hands with Kongpob.

"What happened, Miss? Is she okay?" Kongpob asked worriedly.

"I won't say she's okay, Sir. With all due respect Sir, it's hard for us to have April in our school anymore," the teacher said.

Kongpob's eyes widened, "But...but...she's the best student you could have. She's always good in studies."

The teacher shook her head, "And that's the reason we didn't doubt her. But she fainted in class today when I scolded her for not listening the lecture. And well she was under heavy drugs during class."

The teacher handed out few packets to Kongpob.

"We found this in her bag. We don't want a drug addict like her in our school, Sir. It's harmful to other kids," the teacher said in a low voice.

Kongpob looked at the packets in his hand and couldn't help but feel anger and hurt. He remembered how he had caught April with drugs that day but after a few days he had seen her throw the drugs away in the dustbin.

Kongpob took the teacher's hand in his and begged her, "Please miss. Please don't ruin my child's future! I'll make sure that nothing like this would ever happen! Please trust me Miss, please."

The teacher sighed. She patted Kongpob's shoulder as she nodded.

"I'll talk with the management, Sir. But this will be the last chance. We don't support such kind of actions."

Kongpob smiled back at her and nodded his head.

"But sir be careful. We had done some tests on her and she's really addicted to drugs. And that is showing in her academics too. She's slowly coming down from her first position in class," the teacher advised Kongpob who nodded his head.

"Yes miss. I'll take care of her. Thank you so much Miss," Kongpob bowed his head.

The teacher gave a strong smile before she excused herself.

"Kongpob, I do care for you and April. Just see me as your own sister. You have to help April," Priya patted his shoulder.

"She has been using heavy drugs for a long time. Her test reports will come soon. Actually cases like this should be reported to the police but since it's you I didn't report it," Priya said.

"Thank you, P'Priya. It really means a lot," Kongpob bowed his head.

"Just take care Kong," Priya gave a firm smile to him before she excused herself.

Kongpob sighed. He could feel his eyes fill with tears. He pushed the door to the room and came in sight with April who was wide awake leaning against the headboard with a tube attached to her  wrist.

"What is all this, April? I thought you stopped using drugs!" Kongpob shouted at his daughter but April just kept quite.

"Where did you get it from?" Kongpob asked, trying to control himself.

"I asked where did you get it from!?" Kongpob shouted.

April looked up at Kongpob with glaring eyes, "Your husband gifted it to me!"

Kongpob's eyes widened, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"And you know what? This is not the first time. If you want to know go and ask that moron!" April shouted.

Kongpob walked towards April and raised his hand to slap her but he halted his hand. Clutching his palm he kept his hand down.

"April, when you're caught for doing such things and can't find any excuse, you shouldn't blame your mom and dad for it," Kongpob sighed.

April scoffed, "Dad and mom. He's not my fucking father!"

"Do you know what happens to me in that house?" April glared at Kongpob.

"Do you know what I had to go through in that house?" April's voice started to break.

"April..." Kongpob didn't know what was going on.

"That Simon, your husband. He treats me as if I'm his sex toy," April's voice started to become low.

"Wh..what?" Kongpob felt his whole body shaking.

"You...you think you can say almost anything?" Kongpob asked, his voice shaking.

"Simon sees you as his own daughter, he's always nice to you even though he isn't like that to me. He loves...." Kongpob was cut off by April.

"I'm not a small kid anymore, Mom," April looked away when tears started to fall from her eyes.

"I'm grown up enough to know what's in one's mind when they touch me," a sob escaped April's lips.

"A... April," Kongpob breathed.

"Please Mom, please help me. I don't have anyone else. I'm sorry Mom, please, I want to get out of this. I love you mom, I love you."

Kongpob hugged April as he allowed his daughter to cry on his shoulder. He caressed her hair, his heart aching as he heard her cry.

"Mom, please give dad a chance. Please give your P'Arthit a chance. It's not his fault, it's neither of your faults. Please give dad a chance. I don't want Simon, I just want you and my real dad. Just us. Please, Mom, please," April tightened her hug on Kongpob.

"I'll April, I'll my baby. I love you, baby girl. I'm sorry I couldn't be a good mom," Kongpob cried.

******

Kongpob looked at the door when he heard it open. He leaned on the chair was seated in. His hands-on the table shaking with anger that was rising in him.

He heard Simon sighing as he walked towards him. He felt the elder's hand on his shoulder. His jaw clenched as he felt disgusted by the touch.

"Kong, I'm sorry. About April...I..." Before Simon could complete his words Kongpob stood up absurdly knocking the chair down.

He grabbed Simon's collar and pushed him forwards. Simon's eyes widened as his back collided with the wall.

Kongpob gripped the elder's collar harshly. His eyes turning bright red as a dark aura surrounded him. His scent letting out all the anger he had piled up inside and Simon felt hard to breathe.

"I....Kong...I...April...I," Simon tried to talk.

"I was about to tell you, but..." Simon sighed. Kongpob just stared at him darkly.

"She's into drugs," Simon declared as if he cared about April.

"I tried to help her, I tried to advise her. But every time I..."

"You dared to touch my child!?" Kongpob shouted making Simon's eyes widen.

Hot tears whelmed up in Kongpob's red eyes. His scent choking Simon.

"My child...you..." Kongpob shook Simon's collar harshly.

"I trusted her with you! Even when you hired me, treated me like shit I was sure that you took care of April like your own child! You cheated me! You acted in front of me as if you treated her as your own child!" Kongpob shouted.

"Yet you dared to touch my child!" Kongpob screamed right into Simon's face who had a neutral expression.

"You think you can touch my child!?" Kongpob glared.

"I can."

Kongpob was taken aback with the answer Simon gave him.

"I will," Simon smirked at Kongpob.

Kongpob gasped. His grip on Simon's collar loosened.

"You know, April is not my daughter. She's your daughter. So frankly, I don't sew a moral issue here," Simon smirked. He walked forward making Kongpob take a step back.

"You're welcome to do whatever you want. Do you want to tell your parents? You want to tell your favorite P'Riya? Go tell. Or do you want to complain to the police? You're free to do so," Simon laughed and Kongpob couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"But before that it would be good to know how many drug peddlers your daughter is in contact within this city. I have the records of her conversations with them. And her purchase details from them, from me."

"That alone is enough to put her behind the bars for narcotics. Poor thing," Simon let out a sarcastic laugh.

"So if we think now it's better that we forget this right here, right now," Simon grabbed Kongpob's neck.

"You can't do anything, Mr. Kongpob Ruwat," Simon moved his head forward, about to touch Kongpob's lips when the later slapped his face.

"Don't touch me!" Kongpob glared at Simon and marched upstairs. He heard Simon laugh behind him.

Kongpob moved into April's room and locked himself in it.

"Ahhhh!" Kongpob screamed as he let out his frustration.

Tears started to stream down Kongpob's cheeks. He felt helpless. He felt guilty for not being a good mother to April. He failed as a mother to April.

With shaky hands he took his phone. He took the number April had given him. He bit his lips before he pressed the call button.

After ringing for a minute the call was picked up.

"Arthit Rojnapath here, who's this?"

Kongpob's lips started to shake. He missed that voice soo much.

"Hello?" Kongpob heard Arthit ask again.

Kongpob took a deep breath, "P'Ar...P'Arthit..."

"Kong!"

A sob left Kongpob's lips.

"P'Arthit, you've to come here. Please, please help us P. I'm sorry I ignored you! I'm sorry P!" Kongpob cried, his body shaking a lot.

"Kong, please, what happened? Are you okay?" Arthit asked worriedly.

"P'Arthit, April....she..."

*********

Guess Kongpob is making his moves now.
Let's see what happens next.

Will Arthit teach Simon a lesson?

Hope all of you are safe!
Love you all!♥️♥️♥️

P.S. I had taken inspiration from a scene I saw in a movie in this chapter, I thought it was apt for the situation. So if anyone finds it familiar, I took it from a movie 😁
