"Are you ready for school?" Astral asked as we walked along. I adjusted my satchel and gave a nod.
"Yup! And, I talked to Haruhi about what had happened. Simplifying the whole story, Kyoya was doing it to push Tamaki and Haruhi together." I said, smiling to myself. I gave a twirl. "TamaHaru forever!"
"Oh lord!" Astral said, despite the small smile on her face. She let out a breath. "I ship it too..."
"Everyone does!" I said with a laugh, twirling through the halls of Ouran.
"Look!" Astral whispered. "There's Ootori over there!"
I looked up, and saw Kyoya talking to some random people. I probably shouldn't bother him...
Aah, screw it.
"Oi, Ootori!" I yelled, stomping down the hall. "Who do you think you are?!" I thrust a finger into Kyoya's chest. "Listen, I ship TamaHaru as much as the next guy, but you have no business coming up with schemes to push them together!"
"Now, please listen-" Kyoya said, holding up a finger.
"No no! You aren't allowed to do that without me!" I said, ignoring Kyoya's raised eyebrows.
Kyoya pushed up his glasses, giving a small smile. "Very well, then."
I smiled, and skipped back to astral. "What are you going to do about the hosts knowing about your... Cat-like side?" She asked me.
I stop, and paled. "Oh god."
I stumbled through my classes, scared. What if they had already told people?
At the end of the day, I walked in the host club, a bit of a mess. I think people made have noticed, considering the looks I got. I sat myself at the piano, and took a deep breath. I cleared my mind, and immersed myself into the music. Voices melted away, there were no thoughts. Just playing the notes. I was pulled out if the music when a hand was put on my shoulder. I jolted up, whipping around to see Kyoya standing behind me.
"We have guests who wish to see you." Kyoya said in an unreadable tone. I nodded, and stood up. Suddenly, a face was in mine, flowers coming from no where.
"Hello, fair maiden," said the weird lady, her eyes glittering. "I am Lady Benibara, leader of the Zuka Club. And wish for you, as well as maiden Haruhi, to join our club, and come to Lobelia, an a girl's school."
I snorted, and backed away from Benibara. I laughed at her expression. She looked so shocked!
"B-but, fair maiden, you're obviously quite distressed here!" Benibara said.
"How so?" I asked, already tired of this girl.
"Well," Benibara started, looking fierce. "You're quite jumpy, obviously stressed by something! And the arrogant one with glasses gives you discomfort!"
Wow, for an idiot, this girl was quite observant. I waved her off. "Oh, I'm just going through a couple of things. I mean, I still haven't quite adjusted to the move from England! And, Kyoya-senpai doesn't make me uncomfortable, I was just very immersed in my music!" I could feel Kyoya's gaze burning into me, from my right side.
Benibara took my hand, trying to win me over. "Never mind, that. What's your name, fair maiden?"
"Tsuneko." I said coldly, pulling my hand away. "And, I-I just don't think I could leave! I mean, my brother is here! I love my brother, I want to stay with him!"
"But, you could see your brother at home!" Said one of the girls that were with Benibara. I stopped. The three girls from Lobelia began to talk about relationships within that school, but I mostly blocked it all out.
I looked up to see Tamaki tripping, and dipping his finger in hot coffee. He fell into the floor, and Haruhi sat next to him. She pulled out some bandages, and wrapped up Tamaki's finger. She told him to be more careful. I honestly stopped listening after that
Benibara flirted with Haruhi a bit, before the three girls twirled out, and away for now.
"You can give us your answers for transferring schools tomorrow, fair maidens!" Benibara exclaimed right before she left.
Haruhi stormed out. Probably because her pencil was stolen and sold. Only this would be a serious problem in the Host Club...
I sank into one of the many couches, burying my face into my hands. I groaned. What was I going to do?
Tamaki went to gaze out one of the windows, going on about how the Zuka club might be better than Ouran, which is insane, and riled up the other hosts.
"Hold on, gentlemen," Tamaki said. "I have a secret plan."
"Well," Kyoya said, taking a seat next to me on the couch. "You seem conflicted."
"I am." I muttered. "I don't know what to do. I came here to catch up on lost time with my brother, and I don't want to throw out that opportunity. But, if I go to Lobelia, no one will know I'm a neko. It would be a fresh start. I wouldntnhave to worry as much about word getting out on what I really am."
"Is there anything else at Ouran that's worth staying for?" Kyoya asked me. I looked at him. His eyes searched mine, seemingly looking for something.
Yes.
Of course there is.
But...
I don't want to get to close to the rest. If I leave again, and I have to leave more people I'm close to, I think it would break me.
There's always more for me to stay at Ouran for.
Astral. Honey-senpai (and Usa-chan, of course). Mori-senpai. Hikaru and Karou. Haruhi. And...
Kyoya.
I sighed, shrugging. I didn't know if forming close relationships with these people is worth it, to me or them, if I do have to leave again. Kyoya looked at me, almost looking... Disappointed?
.::.
I grinned at my handiwork, the boys looked amazing. I took a picture of the boys in their dresses (minus Mori, he was the only 'brother').
The doors of the host club opened, and looked over to see the astonished Lobelia students (from yesterday) and Haruhi. That gaped at us. I backed away, grinning.
"Ouran!" Sang one of the twins.
"Ouran!" Sang the other.
"Ouran!" Mori sang in a monotone voice.
"Ouran!" Sang Kyoya.
"Ouran!" Honey sang.
The lights popped on, and Tamaki sang "Ouran!!"
"Host Club!" The six sang, plus me. "Welcome to!"
The four girls at the door stood there, shell-shocked. I laughed to myself.
"Oh Haruhi, welcome back!" Tamaki said, walking in front of her.
"Look, Haru-chan!" Honey said, twirling to her. "I'm a princess, now! Aren't I cute?"
Benibara gave a loud scoff. "What is the meaning of this? Are you trying to make fun of woman kind?"
"What? No, that's not it at all!" Tamaki answered. "Everything's going according to plan! Our strategy is guaranteed to make even a crying child smile! It's the freebie campaign! My dears, you ladies have all lived sheltered lives at Lobelia, so you might not know that commoners are weak, they have a weakness for free things! Haruhi, you may be distracted by the Zuka club, but choose us and not only a Host Club full of brothers, but sisters as well! See, this way you can experience feminine bonding while staying at the Host Club! Isn't that a great idea? Aren't I pretty?"
"We're the Hitachiin sisters!" The twins said together, standing in front of Haruhi. "Which one of us is prettier?"
"I'm just teasing you." Said Hikaru (?). The other twin giggled.
"Listen, Haru-chan!" Honey said, waving his arms. "You can call me big sis from now on."
Mori shook a tambourine, and Kyoya stood with Mori, a fan covering half of his face.
"What do you, do you idiots think you can win her over like this?" Benibara shouted. "I've had enough of your fooling around!"
Haruhi burst out laughing. Everyone stood at her, surprised. I don't know why, when they had practised their little act, I had done the same thing.
"This is too much!" Haruhi said through her laughter. "I don't even get what you're trying to do here! I mean, I knew you guys were a bunch of goofballs, but jeez!"
"Are we really that funny?" The twins and honey asked Haruhi together. They chased the lugging Haruhi around, saying "Call me big sister! Common, do it! Just say it! Big sister! Big sister! Say it please!"
"Common, cut it out!" Haruhi said, dying of laughter.
Sounds like me!
Shut up, author!
Hey, no breaking the fourth wall!
"What were you thinking?" Haruhi asked, calming down. "What's gotten into you guys?"
"We did this because we don't want you to leave the Host Club, Haruhi." Hikaru answered, clipping off his fake pigtails. Haruhi stood at him, shocked.
I dunno why, we all love her here!
"Well, maiden." Benibara said. "Have you made a choice?"
"Yah, I have. I'm sorry but your Club's not for me. I think the idea of an all- girls school is great, and your views are very unique and interesting, but I came to this school with a goal and a planter my future. So, while I appreciate your offer, I really already knew that I was never going to leave Ouran academy!"
"Haruhi!" Tamaki wailed. "Hold on, if you knew you weeny going to leave, then why did you act so angry yesterday?"
"How would you feel if I stole something of yours without asking ypu?" Haruhi shouted in response. "I really liked that mechanical pencil! It was easy to write with!"
"I'm sorry." Tamaki said. "But I was nice enough and offered my teddy bear pencil in return, and you said you didn't want it!"
"Yeah, and I still don't want it." Haruhi muttered.
"What about you, fair maiden?" Benibara asked me.
"Nah, I'm staying with these crazy guys!" I said, having Kyoya a quick smile.
"Um, Benio," said one of the Lobelia girls.
"Yes, I know. We're not going to give up on you, fair maidens! I swear this to you two, I will someday come and rescue you two, and when I do, I'll abolish the whole Host Club!"
I snorted. The Host Club doesn't die.
Benibara said good bye, and she and her two henchmen twirled away, laughing the whole time, like a bunch of weirdos.
..:::..
"So, what made you stay?" Kyoya aske, standing next to me as I gazed out of one of the windows in Music Room 3.
"You did." I said, smiling softly. "A-all of you did."
And me and Kyoya stood there, looking out the window, me with a top hat a tuxedo jacket on and Kyoya wearing a dress and makeup.
