"I'm bored!" I groaned as Astral and I roamed the halls of Ouran.
"Then why don't we leave the school and go do something?" Astral asked me. "Schools over for the day. We're free to leave."
"We have to wait for Tama." I answered, throwing my head back to let out a large, dramatic sigh.
"Then let's go to the Host Club. That's what you do after school anyways." Astral suggested. I shot her a look. "It's not like you need to talk to Ootori. And, I'll go with you. I'll request someone, or I'll chill with you, and you can play some music."
I let out a sigh. "I guess. Let's go."
Luckily, we weren't too late. Only by, like, 10 minutes. I pushed open the doors to Music Room 3, and Astral and I were hit a flurry of rose petals.
"How do they even afford all of this?" Astral asked, pulling a few petals out of her hair. "And, who cleans all of this up? Poor bloke..." I giggled, walking into the room.
"Tsuneko, you're here!" Mitsukuni said excitedly, and ran up to give me and Astral a hug. "Why weren't you here the last few meetings?"
"Ooh! Astral brought me to Commoners' Supermarkets!" I said, clapping my hands together. "And, I got stuff for everybody!"
I reached into my bag, and pulled out one of those Popping Cooking sets. Only this one made a little cake. I handed the set to Mitsukuni. I handed a ninja mask to Takashi. It was black, and it looked like one a TMNT turtle would wear. I gave Tama a couple packs of instant ramen. I gave the twins each a headband with devil horns. I gave Haru some fancy tuna, even though it's not from the commoners supermarket. Takashi held put his hand, his eyes flickering between Kyoya and I. I reached into my bag and lulled out a black notebook. There were a couple tea packets that bookmarked a page in the middle of the book. On the page I had written 'relax'. I gave Takashi a grateful smile, before he walked off to give Kyoya his gift.
"Oh, Astral," I said, turning to look at my friend. I pulled a package out of my bag, and handed it to her. "I've been meaning to give this to you."
Astral quickly opened the package, and gasped in delight when looking at the treats inside. "MACAROOOOONS! HXNSBSNSJ!" I laughed as Astral devoured the sweets. "I'm gonna go do my music thing." I told Astral, before walking over to the piano I always played at.
"Oh!" I exclaimed, stopping in the middle of the room. "Renge, I have a gift for you!"
There was a mechanical whirring, and Renge rose from the ground on a platform. She smiled at me. "Ooh! What do you have for me?"
I reached into my bag, and pulled out a dating Sims game and a large, lime green bow. "I heard you liked Dating Sims, and I thought this bow would look nice!" Renge started squealing and fangirling about the game, and quickly pulled off her pink bow to clip in the green one. I smiled and continued on to the piano.
It was nice to play again. I didn't have to think about anything around me. It was just about hitting the right keys, at the right time, in the right order. I was taken from my trance when Tama started screaming. I looked up to see Nekozawa and Belzenef looming over me.
"Hello!" I said with a smile. "How's Kirimi?"
"She's embracing the darkness, slowly." Nekozawa said eerily. "I sensed a profound darkness around you."
I looked at the cloaked man in confusion. "Why didn't you sense anything before?"
"I did, though." Nekozawa said. Hm, did he?
"Tsuneko," Nekozawa drawled, sitting at the table in the science room with me. "I sense darkness around you. Would you be interested in harnessing the darkness around you by joining the Black Magic Club?"
I looked up at Nekozawa tiredly. "I'm sorry, Nekozawa-senpai, that, err, darkness around me isn't something I'm very aware of, or interested in using. Good luck with finding someone else who would like to embrace the darkness. Perhaps Kirimi!"
I snapped my fingers in realization. "You did say that, didn't you?"
"MY LITTLE SISTER DOESN'T HAVE AMY DARKNESS! HOW DARE TOU SUGGEST SUCH A THING! I SHOULD KICK YOU OUT OF HERE!" Tama yelled, while making dramatic poses.
"It's okay, Tama." I reassured. "He's fine. I just wonder what darkness you're referring to, Nekozawa-senpai."
"Maybe from when we lived in Britain." Astral suggested.
"Ah, yes!" I chirped. "That time was the epitome of h**l! I was lucky enough to have a friend with me during..."
Everyone stared at me. I looked down at my hands, not really wanting to explain what I meant.
"It is now time for you ladies to head home," Kyoya said suddenly. "We'll see you ladies tomorrow." I sighed in relief as the ladies shuffled out, chattering and giggling among themselves. Once the girls had left the room, a mechanic whirring could be heard, and Renge rose from the ground on her platform.
"It looks like our sweet little Tsuneko has a secret, dark past!" Renge cackled. "Tell us about it!"
"Story time! Story time!" The two Hitachiin brothers chanted, pulling me to sit down on a couch. The hosts sat on he couch opposite of mine. Well, Kyoya stayed at his little table that was near the couches, writing in his book. Astral sat on the couch with me, munching on her macaroons.
I was there, too." Astral scoffed when seeing the twins' confused faces.
"So," I started lamely. "I lived in Britain."
"Wow. Who knew?" Astral said dryly. I playfully hit her arm, sticking my tongue out.
"I guess I should start at the very beginning." I said, twiddling with my thumbs. "When I was younger, around ten or so, I was sent away by my grandmother. She hated me for reasons I couldn't fathom when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I guess it was because of me being a neko. And because I act 'un-properly' or whatever. But, anyways, she sent me away to boarding school in Britain. She had told me to hide my ears and tail. And I was able to for a little while. Astral was my roommate at the boarding school. ((Naarr: And whether she liked it or not, Astral was destined to become Tsuneko's best friend. Me: shush, Naarr, and let the story continue!)) And we were friends. I did tell Astral about my neko-ness. And, she didn't care. She was the only one who knew my secret. Until, one day, someone pulled of my hat in the halls, and everyone had seen my ears. They knew. And I was teased and mocked relentlessly. Now, I would be able to survive such a thing. But, then..."
"She was younger." Astral continued for me. "She was so sad then. She just wanted to make sure her mom was okay, and that her dad still loved her, and that her 'dearest brother Tamaki was okay'. For the next three years, I think it was, people hated Tsuneko because they were all pretty shallow and were scared, I guess. I still stayed friends with Tsuneko. And- Oi! Ootori! What are you writing over there?"
I groaned. "What does it matter?"
"I don't want Ootori over there writing down all of this!"
"Who cares if he writes it down?"
"He could use it against you!"
"No, he can't! Yeah, people didn't like me in Britain because of what I am. And, for I while, I cared about what people thought of me. But, eventually I learned to not care. And, I acted like myself. The past is behind me now. And, I'm fine." I said. I popped into my cat form, and walked off, letting out a meow. Tama got up and walked next to me.
"Why didn't you tell me about what happened to you?" Tama asked me.
I meowed. It didn't matter anymore.
"Okay," Tama said. "But, why did you turn into a cat before walking off?"
I meowed again. It's easier not being human.
Truth.
Okay, so, I don't even know what I just wrote. I'm so sorry for not updating for so long! Ove had a major case of writers block, and I've been putting this story off. But that's no excuse! I'll try to update more often!
