"No, Haruhi! That's just regular tuna! It's by no means fancy!" Tamaki's yelling rang throughout the house. I sat up, groaning.
Can my idiot of a brother not keep quiet in the morning?! It's freaking Sunday, a day to sleep in!
I walked down the stairs, seeing Tamaki at the front door, with his school uniform and pyjama pants on. Weirdo.
"Hold it right there, master Tamaki!" Shima, our 2nd resident chief of staff said. "I can't let you leave the house like that! You're still wearing your pyjama bottoms and house slippers!"
I snorted oh so gracefully, walking down the stairs.
Tamaki stopped, and ran back up the stairs, screaming. I sighed. I love my brother, but he is just... He needs to be a bit more perceptive to his surroundings.
Ew. I sounded like Kyoya. That was scary. Soon, I'll be demanding taxes from everyone.
"He's not the brightest young man." Shana said. I sighed, and gave a little shrug.
Tamaki came back down the stairs, fully dressed, ready for school...
"Ahem, thank you, Shima. And, I'll be going now." Tamaki said, pink from embarrassment.
"I hate to be a bother, master Tamaki, but today is Sunday." Shima said. "You don't have to go to school today."
"Oh really," Tamaki said. "Well, why didn't you make me aware of that fact earlier?"
"As your maid its my duty to help you. However, I eat you to become a fine gentleman. So you must be able to recognize your own mistakes!" Shima began to drag the struggling Tamaki away. "Since you suddenly have some free time on your hands, why don't we work on your manners?"
Tamaki broke away, and demanded a phone. He called Kyoya, and told me we were going somewhere. This can't be good...
..::..
I stepped out of the limo, shielding my eyes from the blaring sun. I looked up at the apartment complex we were at. Haruhi lived here. Tamaki came here to bother Haruhi, and the rest if us were dragged along... I was too tired for this.
"Tired?" Kyoya asked me as I let out a big yawn.
"Yup." I said, rubbing my eyes with my palms. "I was up late, and Tamaki woke me up, screaming about tuna."
Kyoya gave me a weird look, and I just shrugged. Kyoya continued to stare at me. I looked at him with my eyebrows raised.
Kyoya shrugged. "It's amusing to see you so short tempered."
"I'm tired. And Tamaki woke me up. I don't like to be woken up. I think I might kill Tamaki at some point today." I deadpanned, shooting glares at my brother. The twins noticed my deadly stares directed towards Tamaki and sweatdropped.
Tamaki yelled at Kyoya for bringing the twins. Kyoya was about to escort the twins away, before Tamaki gave in for letting g them stay. Then he yelled at the twins to behave themselves, and I leaned into Kyoya, closing my eyes.
"You're comfy." I muttered, and felt an arm slip around my shoulder.
Haruhi yelled at everyone for being here. Heeey, she found us...
I'm so tired. I am going to kill Tamaki for waking me up and dragging me here.
"That pink dress is pretty cute!" The twins, Honey, and Tamaki said togeher.
"Shut up!" Haruhi said. I love her. "Get h*** out of here!"
The same four people gasped.
"Haruhi's so mad she actually cursed at us!" Tama said, mortified.
"Hey, it wasn't us." The twins said. I honestly blocked out the rest of the conversation, snuggling into Kyoya.
"Hey." Kyoya said. "We're going up to Haruhi's apartment, now."
I groaned, annoyed. I slumped onto Kyoya, refusing to support myself. "Carry me, Kyo, pleeeaaase?!"
"'Kyo'?" Kyo questioned, amusement in his voice.
"That's your nickname, and your going to like it!" I said into Kyo's side.
Kyoya chuckled, and kneeled down, causing me to almost fall. "Hop on."
I beamed, and climbed onto his back. We walked up the stairs, and I rested my head on his back, closing my eyes.
"Okay, here's the deal. I'm only giving you guys a quick peek." I heard Haruhi say. "Three seconds. And then you all go home. Got it?"
"Look!" Honey exclaimed. "I brought you a gift, Haru-chan! I know how you love cake! There's both chocolate and strawberry!"
"Fine. Guess I'll make some tea." Haru said in a defeated voice. Haruhi is now Haru! Nicknames all around. "And why is Kyoya-senpai carrying Tsuneko?" Haru asked.
"Because," I muttered. "Kyo loves me, and I'm tired."
"Kyo?" The twins questioned.
Kyo chuckled. "Yes, Tsuneko has decided to give me a nickname.
"A nickname that you better love!" I said. I felt a drop. I opened my eyes to see that we were all sitting around a small table. I moved so that I could sit next to Kyo. I leaned my head onto his shoulder, closing my eyes. An arm wrapped around me. This feels like deja vu.
"Ooooh~" the twins sang. "Kyoya didn't say he didn't love Tsuneko!"
"Everyone loves me!" I said.
"I'm gonna go make us some tea." Haru said in an annoyed voice.
"Thank you, Haru!" I called out.
"Hey, here's an idea. Why don't you make us this." Hikaru said. I now dub him... Hika! "Its black tea that our father brought as a souvenir from Africa! Here try it!"
"Um, sure, no problem." Haru said.
"It's best served as milk tea! Do you have milk?" Karou questioned. Hmm, he's now Rou!
"I think. When was the last time I bought some milk?" Haru pondered.
Tamaki (now known as Tama) gasped, and scolded the twins. "What the h*** are you doing? Don't be so mean to her! Are you idiots?" My cat ears twitched, listening to their quiet conversation.
"What do you mean?" Rou and Hika asked.
"I know you're trying to embarrass her by asking for that African tea! Look, she has no idea how she's supposed to prepare it!"
Idiot. Haruhi is a smart, capable girl. She can make some tea.
"Oh god, she doesn't even have a tea pot!" Hika cried.
"And she's too embarrassed to tell us that doesn't!" Rou cried.
"I'm sorry, Haruhi. You don't have to go to all that trouble." Rou said weakly. "We didn't need any tea! We'd be fine with a glass of water!"
I chuckled. Those three were clueless.
"What? It's no trouble. Besides, I've already made it."
I opened my eyes, to see Haru bringing over a tray if tea. Kyo let his arm fall off of my shoulders, and I sat up, trying to mask my disappointment at the lack of contact.
Oh lord. I'm enamored.
"Oh. Well then in that case-"
Hika sighed in relief. "That was a close one, boss."
"We have been rescued by commoners wisdom." Tama said.
"Wait. What do you mean, sir?" Rou asked.
"Nothing we know to be true in out world holds true here." Tama answered. "We have to be careful how we react. One little off-handed remark could break Haruhi's heart! That means in this fight, the first person to embarrass Haruhi loses!"
"Stop being so dramatic, Tama!" I scolded. "Haru is smart, that how she got into Ouran, anyway. By being smart."
"Yes, while your antics are amusing, I don't see the need to turn this into a contest." Kyo said, who had moved to look through Haru's bookcase.
"Okay, guys," Haru said, giving us each a cup of tea. "Tea's ready. I'm sorry that not all of the cups match."
"It's okie, Haru!" I chirped, taking a sip of my tea.
Honey took out his cake. "Common, Haru-chan, you can chose your cake first!"
"Uh, are you sure, Honey-senpai? I-" Haru said cautiously. Hika then informed her that "we're rich, we eat this kind if stuff all the time". His words, not mine.
"I'll have the strawberry cake." Haru decided. Honey handed her a price of cake, while the twins and Tama gawked at her.
Mori handed Haru the strawberries from his cake. "You like strawberries, right? You can have mine."
HOLY CRAP, EIGHT WORDS FROM MORI-SENPAI!!
Everyone gave me an odd look. I sweatdropped. I said that out loud, didn't I?
"Thanks, that's nice of you, Mori-senpai!" Haru said cheerfully. Meanwhile, Hika, Tama, and Rou casually screamed and cried. They were weird...
"Thanks for the cake, Honey-senpai!" I said, finishing off my piece.
Honey yawned. "No problem. Eating all that came sure whet my appetite!"
"Yeah, isn't it lunch time right about now?" Hika questioned.
"Well then, what's for lunch?" The three usual hosts asked.
"Would you guys quit being so happy-go-lucky all the time, please?" Haru asked dryly.
"We'll take care of it." Kyo said. "After all, we did drop in unexpectedly. So, we'll pay for lunch. Why don't you just order us all some of your favorite sushi?"
"Thanks, but no thanks. I know that if I let you guys pay, I'll only regret it later." Haru said. She certainly did have a point.
"Oh, don't worry about it, Haruhi." Kyo said, whipping out a golden card. "We'll just pay for it using the profits from the photos if you we auctioned off."
Haru groaned. "So I'm really paying for it after all."
"Yup!" I chirped, my tail waving around behind me. Yeah, I didn't try to cover up my tail and ears. Screw it, it's Sunday. I'm not at school!
"Well, if that what you want, I do have a friend who runs a nice little sushi shop nearby, so I can give them a call. Their stuffs pretty high-quality."
Tama wrote a note, and gave it to Haru. I layed onto the floor, groaning. I tugged on Kyo's sleeve (he was sitting with me again.)
"I'm boooooooored, Kyo." I whined. Hey, I was tired, okay!
"Well, perhaps I could assist you with your problem of boredom." Kyo said, pushing up his glasses.
"If astral were here, she'd tell you to 'stop being coy'." I said with a wry grin. "Oh! We should facetime her, and do a prank of some sort!"
Yeah, this is a bit more modern than the anime, but I say screw it!
"With what prank?" Kyo asked me. I shrugged, sitting up. "What if... We tell her we're engaged?"
I gave an evil laugh. "She will flip! It'll be hilarious!"
I dialed astral facetime number thingy. Her gave popped into my screen, looking annoyed.
"What happened now in your book series?" She asked. She took in who was facetiming her. "Oh! It's Tsuneko and Kyoya!"
"That's right!" I chirped. "And we have big news!"
"What news?" Astral asked suspiciously.
"Tsuneh and I are engaged." Kyo said simply. Astral's eyes widened, and she threw her head beck, still looking at Kyo and I suspiciously.
"Prove it." She challenged. I noticed that she had gotten up, and was moving around pretty quickly.
Kyo raised his eyebrows, but obliged. "Okay then." He leaned forward, and pressed his lips against mine. My eyes widened, and the kiss was broken by a pounding on Haru's door. Kyo looked up, to see Haru opening the door to a livid astral.
"HOLY CRAP!" She yelled. Hm, she must live right next to Haru. I mean, I knew she lived in the same apartment building, but I didn't know she was so close. "HOW LONG HAVE YOU TWO BEEN ENGAGED!? HOLY CRAP, TSUNEKO, YOU- YOU-"
"Ahaha, you were pranked!" I said nervously, stopping astral before she could say anything bad. Astral let out an angry breath.
"That was your first kiss, right Tsuneko?" Astral asked me, her voice low and dangerous. The rest of the club stared at me, quite shocked by what was happening. I gave a quick nod.
"So, Ootori here was your first kiss, for a prank?" Astral asked, her voice sounding even more dangerous.
"Y-Yup!" I said, my voice high-pitched and nervous. Astral let out an angry breath.
"I'm going to leave, before the Ootori family only has two sons." Astral said, walking out of Haru's apartment. I let out a sigh, glad no dudes died during that little scene.
"Okay then..." Haru said, glancing at me and Kyo. "As I was saying, I'm gonna have to go to the supermarket again."
"Oh!" I exclaimed, jumping up. "I wanna go!"
"We're coming with you." Hika said decisively.
"We want to see a commoners super market!" Rou said.
"Me too, me too!" Honey said excitedly.
"This could be learning experience." Kyo said. And it hit me. Kyo. He kissed me. He was my first kiss. And it was for a prank. And it was Kyo!! Ohmigod!
Now, i know I sound bit boy-crazy, but I mean, that- I just- breath, Tsuneko, breath. I really do like Kyo. I think he's amazing! And it was bittersweet, Kyo being my first kiss, but it only being for a prank.
"Are you okay, Tsuneko?" Haru asked. I let out a nervous laugh, and nodded.
"Yay!" The twins cheered, running out of Haru's apartment. "Commoners super market! Commoners super market!"
"This is gonna be fun!" Honey said, skipping g after the twins, dutifully followed by Mori. Kyo walked out silently.
Haru sighed. "Well, that's it. So much for having a day off. Tsuneko, can we talk at the market, or something?"
I nodded, and walked out, slightly distracted.
I saw a transvestite as I walked out. I gave him/her a big smile and wave. I don't judge.
Mori-senpai walked towards me, even though I was walking a good amount behind the hosts. He walked next to me, his gaze locked forward. I did the same.
"Do you like him?" Mori asked me quietly.
"Yes." I said. I felt like I could trust Mori with my secrets.
"How did the kiss make you feel?" Mori asked. When did this boy become a therapist?
"It was... Bittersweet." I answered with a sigh. "I mean, I'm glad Kyo was my first kiss, but the reason..."
"Wasn't very satisfactory?" Mori finished for me. I nodded.
"Thanks, Mori-senpai."
"Anytime."
We went back to see where Tama and Haru where. Oh, the person I had waved to was stepping on my brother. Well, that isn't okay.
I stepped forward. "Excuse me, but could you please refrain from trampling my brother?"
And then, the twins began to step on Tama, greeting the person. Oh, it's Haru's dad. Cool, cool. The twins said that Tama likes to fool around, which I can promise isn't true. That boy hasn't got enough game.
Oh lord, Tama was about to confess. "I'm being completely honest here, I care about Haruhi like she's my own daughter." Tama said. I shook my head.
"I get it." Haru's mom said. "You're the host club ive heard so much about. You certainly are a fine looking set of young men."
Okay. Wow. I see how it is. Forgotten over here.
"I'm not sure which of you I like best. What about you dear?" Haru's mom asked, turning to Haru. "I'll tell you what, why don't you boys go ahead and call me Ranka. That's the professional name I use at the bar I work at."
I cleared my throat. "Um, yes, hello Ranka. It's lovely to meet you! I am Tsuneko, a member of the host club. I play music for them and the guests. I'm also a female..."
"Oh, sorry about that, dear!" Ranka said.
"Professional name?" Honey asked. "Do you mean like a stage name?"
You know, I really did try to listen to the conversation, but... I had other things to think of. Like, when are we going to eat. No, seriously, I want food right now. No, I am ABSOLUTELY serious right now.
"Hey, Tsuneko?" Haru called, catching my attention.
"Yes?" I said, looking up to see Haru at the door.
"Will you go to the market with me?" Haru asked. I nodded, and sauntered to the door, trying to be casual. But, then again, it's not really in a Suou's genes to act natural.
"So, what did you wanna talk about earlier?" I asked, shoving my hands into my pockets.
"What happened between you and Kyoya earlier?" Haru asked.
I shrugged. "I mean, one second, we're messing with astral, who apparently lives very close, and the next, Kyo's kissing me. I assume it was to prove the prank right or something like that..."
Haru sighed. "Why didn't my dad tell me? About Kyoya, I mean. I had no idea that Kyoya senpai has been calling my dad and giving updates."
I looked over my shoulder to see the hosts and Ranka following us, not being very stealthy.
"You know," I said loudly. "I think it was nice of Kyo to do that. Your dad loves you very much, and from what I've seen, you probably don't tell Ranka much. It probably helps Ranka feel more connected with you, and Kyo knows that."
I watched the hosts follow us around the super market. Honey certainly was trying to hide himself.
Haru finally saw one of the hosts! Naturally, it was Tama. The two talked, and I walked away, smiling.
"Excuse me," Kyo said. "I was wondering why you commented on my talk with Ranka."
I looked Kyo in the eyes. This boy. "Because, you need to get it through your head that you aren't a bad guy."
Kyo chuckled slightly. "You certainly are someone strange."
