Living a Better Life

*A Couple Years Later. Y/N'S POV*

"Why does Deku keep using his quirk against Todoroki's ice attacks? He's going to lose all of his fingers if he keeps doing it!" Serena asked the television with worrying excitement. We were watching the episode of MHA where Midoriya fights Todoroki in the U.A Sports Festival. I've always wanted to see this anime so we finally got around to watching it a couple days ago. Before we started My Hero, we finished Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and Serena, minus all of the blood and devilry, surprisingly liked it a lot. Her favorite part was part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable, her favorite character being Josuke. Part 4 is also my favorite part. Kira Yoshikage is my favorite character. Besides that, we kept watching.

"Maybe he wants to prove his strength or something." I proposed. I wasn't as hype it as she was after the first couple episodes, but it was still fun to see her riled up about it. Serena then gasped.

"He used his mouth as a way to flick the power at the ice attack! That's really cool!" She cheered.

"Whoa, that was pretty Cool!" It's been a couple years since the incident at the Site-19 SCP Foundation Facility. We both finally turned 19 and A lot has happened since the breach. I remembered how we got into this situation...

*Flashback: A Couple Years Ago. Y/N'S POV*

I was on the helicopter after the Site exploded. Serena was next to me, fast asleep on my shoulder and Dr. Jack Bright sat right in front of me. The man was immortal and I did not want to piss him off. He gave me two options. The first option was that Serena and I would live alone and under watch by several female officers. We would get anything we needed to live. The second option was that he would take both of us to another Site and have both of us tested. He told me I was an SCP, which scared me at first. I wasn't weird... I was normal... my power was that wouldn't be affected by SCP's.. If I were to have looked at 096's face, he wouldn't have ran at me; If I were to have read the book of common diseases, nothing would have happened. So there I was, sitting there, when he asked me the question.

"I see. So, which life will you choose?" He asked me. I had a big question in front of me to answer... I looked down to think. My curiosity was hitting me pretty hard. I wanted to learn more about myself. How many SCP's could I stand up to? What things would affect me? And other things, but I didn't want her to be alone again... and I didn't like being in a cell. The cell back at the Site was crummy and the bed was kinda shit. I realized that this wasn't about me, or about Serena. It was about both of us... together. I told her that I wanted to be with her after this shit was over, and I'm going to keep that. I looked up at Dr. Bright who was awaiting an answer from me.

"I'll choose to live with Serena in the cabin in isolation. I'm not going to leave her." I said my answer to him with a serious tone.

"Good choice." He said with a grin. I knew I made the right decision. He and I kept talking for the longevity of the ride while Serena was still asleep. After a long time in the helicopter, we started making our descent down to the ground. The cabin started coming into view in the front windows of the vehicle. It looked really nice from the outside; A classic two story log cabin. It had a pretty good sized wooden porch and a back deck. There weren't any trees in the immediate vicinity of the house, but farther back around it. It was a big all around yard. There was about 2 inches of snow on the ground when the helicopter landed. The copilot hopped out and opened the door to the helicopter and Dr. Bright stepped out into the snow covered grass. I unfastened myself and Serena from the seat. I then rubbed Serena's head. She groaned quietly as she nuzzled more into my shoulder, still asleep. I couldn't help but smile at the adorable sight.

"Serena, it's time to get up." I tapped her shoulder lightly. She finally lifted her head and rubbed her eyes, waking up. She looked at me, then around her surroundings.

"W-Where are we? And why is it so cold..?" She still sounded half asleep.

"...Home..." I said plainly.

"Huh? What do you mean?" She asked me.

"We are going to live in a house by ourselves. We're going to be safe together." I smiled at her. Her eyes then lit up with joy.

"Really?!" She instantly hugged me.

"Look, there's snow on the ground, so I'm going to carry you, Alright?" I got out of the helicopter and held my arms out. I then grabbed her when she got to the door and carried her in a bridal style fashion. It was either she was pretty light, or I was pretty strong. Her face turned a bit red when she looked up at me. I looked down at her and smiled.

"Hey~!" I chuckled.

"H-Hey.." She said back. With me carrying Serena, Dr. Bright and I walked to the front door on the porch. He looked under the doormat and found a spare key.

"How the..."

"I called the folks who own this place while you were out cold. They said they'd leave the spare key under the doormat."

"How did..."

"Did you expect me to think that you would have actually chosen the second option when I asked you?"

"... That's fair." I said as he stomped on the ground to get the snow off of his boots. I did the same. He then unlocked the door and opened it, waking inside with Serena and I following him. I put her back down on her feet. We both looked around and saw that it was a very nice cabin. In front of us was a large living room, to the right was a good sized kitchen, and next to it was the dining room. Upstairs was a den, and the bedrooms. There were three bathrooms, 2 of them had baths/showers.

"Whoa... It's so pretty..." Serena marveled at the place. It indeed was gorgeous on the inside. It was warm and it felt like.. home.

"So tell me how things are going to work here." I spoke to Dr. Bright.

"A bunch of female task force members are going to come here by helicopter soon. They will be taking care of getting your daily needs like food, drinks, bills, entertainment, and anything else. I think I can hear them now." He said as the sound of another helicopter came closer. We went back outside. Another helicopter soon landed next to the other one and a bunch of officers came out, all female.

"Huh... Neat."

"I'll be taking my leave now. I'll stop by every so often to check on you personally, but I'll keep in contact with the team. Till the next time I see you." He said, going back to the helicopter we rode in. The helicopter went up and flew away. For some odd reason, I couldn't trust him. He didn't seem right. He practically just gave us our own house, and a whole team to take care of us when we needed it. So far, the house had electricity, heating, water, and furniture. One of the female officers came up to Serena and I.

"Is there anything you need at the moment?"

"Food and drinks, if you don't mind. Maybe some clothes. Hopefully a store isn't too far from here."

"The nearest city is about 60 miles west, but there is a small grocery store that has everything you'll need several miles away. I'm going to call a car up here for us to use to get there. Then, we'll get you some new clothing tomorrow. Just be sure to give us your measurements. You two go inside, it's cold out." She said.

"Alright." She and I went back in and sat on the couch. There was a fireplace under a large smart television.

"I wonder if this thing has Crunchyroll. I should still have my premium account." I turned on the TV with the remote.

"Crunchyroll? What's that?"

"It's an application to watch anime."

"Anime?" She was confused. I opened the Smart TV menu and looked. Much to my surprise, it was there. I started laughing evilly.

"Allow me to introduce you to my religion."

"B-But.. I already have a religion."

"Trust me, you'll have two religions when you get a load of anime in your life." I smiled as we started watching something simple, Naruto.

"Just to let you know, most anime is in Japanese, so you'll have to read the English subtitles."

"Umm.. Alright.. I'll give it a try. I trust you." She smiled. We sat there and watched a couple episodes of Naruto and she seemed really into it. I helped her out on the history of ninjas and stuff with the show, since I've already seen it.

"So, what do you think of this anime so far?"

"Ninjas are cool. I think I might be starting to like it." She looked at me with sparkling eyes.

"That's good to hear." And that, was the start of my new life with Serena.

*The Present: Y/N'S POV*

I woke up to Serena cheering for the TV. I must have passed out in thought of the past. I was laying on the couch with my legs in Serena's lap. She looked down at me.

"Hey sleepy head."she said as I rubbed my eyes.

"Hi.."

"You spaced out pretty hard while we were watching the episode." She explained as I turned around and sat up. I stretched my arms backwards.

"Yeah..."

"Are you alright?" She asked me.

"Yeah! Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit tired... and Hungry."

"The team will be back soon with our supply of food."

"That's good. I'm going to make some grilled cheese for us, if that's alright with you."

"Sure. I'm alright with eating that tonight." She smiled.

"How was the episode?" I asked her.

"It was really cool! You should have seen it! Midoriya ended up breaking his left arm by using his quirk again, then he and Todoroki were about to hit each other with huge attacks when large blocks came up on the stadium. When the two hit the blocks, the entirety of the arena shattered into pieces!"

"Wow, I would have liked to see that!" I said, excited.

"It's alright, we can rewatch it later if you want."

"Heck yeah!" I then heard a car pull into the absurdly long, gravel driveway we had that lead to the normal roads.

"Looks like they're here."

"Let's help them out." I said. We got up and walked outside. It felt nice and warm. The trees were all green and the birds were singing. We hopped down off the porch and walked to the car. On the way, we passed two little graves. One was for Iris Thompson, and the other was for Connor O'Brian. We had to do a little something in their memory. We then helped the officers bring in the groceries and put them in their rightful place. Soon after, they left in their helicopter, back to their base for a week or two till we need our next food run.

"Thanks for the help, Serena. I'm going to start making dinner now."

"Alright!" I started out by putting cheese between two slices of bread and I set it in a pan with the stove going. After a bit, I turned it over and let it cook on the other side. Afterwards I repeated the process to make another one and boom, 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, freshly made. I put them both on separate plates and set them on the kitchen counter. We both went into the living room, turning on My Hero again. We rewatched the episode as we ate and it was pretty damn cool actually. After we got done eating, I took our plates to the kitchen to wash them. While I was washing them, Serena came up and pulled out a rag.

"I want to help." She started grabbing dishes and drying them off, setting them aside.

"Thanks, Serena." I said, putting the dishes away afterwards. I drained the soapy water out of the sink and washed out the remaining soap with water. After drying my hands, we went back into the living room.

"Hey, Y/n..." She got my attention

"Mhm?"

"Thank you..." She hugged me.

"Oh, it's no problem at all. I hope you liked the food."

"No no! Not that, I mean thank you for making food, but I mean..." she giggled and sighed before speaking again.

"...Thank you for saving me. I don't think I've told you since the incident, but you don't understand how much it means to me that you risked your life to save mine. At any point during the breach we could have died, but you saved us... You saved me... Heck, you could have left me there...but you didn't. Thank you so much, Y/n." She looked at me with the warmest of smiles. I immediately kissed her on the lips. Her eyes widened in surprise, but then she closed them and started to kiss back. We started kissing more and more as she started pushing me down onto the couch. Serena then got on my lap. This was weird... She wasn't acting like herself. She caressed my cheek and tried sticking her tongue into my mouth. I tapped her shoulder, pushing her away.

"Serena. You.. are not acting like yourself right now..." She looked like she was almost in a trance. She then shook her head and realized what she was doing. Her face instantly went red as she quickly got off of me.

"I... I'm so sorry! I.. didn't mean to do what I did. I don't know what happened to me, I just... I don't know...." She started to worry and panic a bit. I sat back up and put my hands on her shoulders.

"Hey, hey, hey! It's okay, it's alright... It seems that you act like an actual succubus when we make out like that... interesting..."

"I'll try to... suppress that.." She sighed, calming down.

"Alright." I smiled.

"Hey, Serena?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too, Y/n."

"Wanna go to bed? I'm still kinda tired even after my tiny nap." I asked her, getting up.

"Sure!" She got up with me. We then went to the bedroom and got our normal nightly stuff done like showers, teeth, etc... After putting on my pajamas, I got into bed with her. The bed had specially made sheets that helped Serena with her sore problem immensely. I pulled her close to me, putting my arm around her. We soon feel asleep, holding each other close. This is how our lives have been for now, and it's how it will be going towards the future.

To be honest,

I had no regrets.

I was happy.
