*Chapter Nine*

~{Chelsea's Point of View}~

Ash clenches his jaw, standing up and giving me one last lingering look before walking away angrily.

I stand up angrily also, walking to the microphone and saying, "Party's over. Everybody get out!"

Everybody groans, gathering their things and gradually leaving the premises. I sigh, going upstairs and getting ready for bed.

I wake up for school the next morning, feeling a painful ache in my mouth. I shrug it off, thinking nothing of it and getting ready for school. After getting ready, I hurry out to my car and drive to school, swinging by Karen's house before arriving.

I park my car in the school parking lot and make my way to the school's courtyard. I find my 'friends' huddled in a circle around Jane, whispering and laughing. They glance at me as I walk into the courtyard, glare at me and continue whispering and laughing. I walk over to them angrily and they stop whispering. "You know what, I've had enough of you and your bullshit! You're just a bunch of stupid, gossipping, sluts who think they're better than everyone else and I've had enough of it! You can talk about me all you want but at least I'm not the one sleeping with other girls' boyfriends. I never liked you and probably never will and I could care less if you don't want to be my friend! . No one likes you so stop acting like everyone wants to be your friend and everyone's jealous of you, 'cuz they're not!" The girls' jaws drop to the floor and Jane glares and rolls her eyes, while in shock. I stomp off before they have a chance to reply. I sit down on a bench and sigh. I look around trying to figure out what to do, now that I just told the cheerleaders off, and catch sight of Spencer walking in the school, rubbing the back of his neck. I smile at how cute he looks and he catches sight of me, walking over and sitting beside me.

"Hey Chels, I had a lot of fun at your party yesterday. Thanks for inviting me and letting me play."

"Oh, no problem. I'm glad you went. You and your band sounded AMAZING!" I compliment.

He blushes, "Thanks, Chels. My band is called 'In Her Eyes'. We mostly do covers but I'm trying to compose some songs right now."

"That's cool...Kendra seemed to like it-and you-alot. I have a question Spence...are you and Kendra together?"

Spencer pauses uncertainly before looking me in the eyes and saying, "I don't think so; it was just a one time thing."

"Oh...well...I finally realized that Ash isn't the one for me."

"I'm glad you've realized that. I was really worried you might get attached to him and let him crush your heart under his feet."

"Well, it took a lot of courage to turn down the school's most sought after player and I realized that he wasn't the one for me after he hugged and kissed Serena then tried to get me to sleep with him. He didn't think I was that stupid did he? I mean I make some bad choices that I regret sometimes but that...I would never. I may have liked him but I would never sleep with him."

"Yeah...he's a whore. He doesn't care about your feelings. As long as he gets what he wants, he'll do whatever it takes."

"Yeah good thing I don't like him anymore. Spencer...I don't mean to be nosy, but do you like Kendra?"

He shrugs, "She's gorgeous and all but...I don't know."

"I'm sorry its none of my business, but I'm just curious. Anyway, you know how you volunteered to help out at the dance? Well, I was thinking that if you got breaks then maybe we could hang out." I smile. "If you'd like, of course." I say gazing into his beautiful turquoise colored eyes.

"Of course. I'm sure I could find time for you, Chelsea. I learned that I should never disappoint a beautiful girl or I might end up regretting it."

I blush and smile. "Thanks Spence. There's only one teensy-weensy little problem...I don't know how to slow dance. No one's ever taught me how."

Spencer's face lights up. "I can teach you. I know how."

"Really?!" I smile cheerfully, "I would love it if you would teach me how!" I lay my hand down on the bench, and it rests on Spencer's. I blush and scoot my hand next to my lap.

Spencer looks away, blushing before looking back at me. "So if you want I can teach you at your house? Or my house? Whatever you're more comfortable with."

"Okay. Um...can we do the dance lessons at your house? After walking in on my boyfriend 'getting it on' with Jane, you understand why I don't really want it to take place at my house." I put my finger on my chin, thinking about what to wear. "Should I wear a pretty dress or something casual?"

"Just wear regular clothes," he replies.

"Okay." I hug him sweetly. "Thank you so much, Spence! I really appreciate it!"

"Oh its no problem, Chelsea. No problem at all," he says.

"So today after school when you're done helping out with the dance, I'll meet you at your house? Wait, where is your house?"

"I'll text you the address after school. Uh...the bell's about to ring. Want to walk to class together?"

"Yeah, I would like that." I smile and stand up with Spencer.

Spencer begins walking toward chemistry as the bell rings. "Ugh...I hate Chemistry."

"Me too," I say.

"I'd rather spend a day in jail than go to Chemistry..."

"Speaking of jail...Spence, did you hear about the murders of three women on the news last week? Its weird because the police reported the victims were drained of all their blood. Whatever did that is a monster."

Spencer frowned. "That sounds dangerous. I hope they catch whatever it is and kill it," he says as we sit down at our lab table and get ready for another day in chemistry.

~{Desdemona's Point of View}~

I slowly open my eyes, squinting into the sunlight. 'Huh? Why is the sun so bright? It's never this bright when I get up for school,' I think to myself. I sit up in bed and rub my eyes, feeling somewhat rejuvenated. I get out of bed, taking a glance at the clock and realizing that I was late for school. 'Great,' I think sarcastically to myself, 'just another reason for my Chemistry teacher to hate me. But...oh well.'

I look through the clothes in my closet, finally settling on a pair of black skinny jeans, a black Asking Alexandria t-shirt, a red Asking Alexandria varsity jacket, and flats with UK designs on them. ( http://www.polyvore.com/asking_alexandria_outfit/set?id=63306960#) Grabbing my stuff, I dash out the door, backing out of my driveway.

'Michael, why the fuck didn't you wake me up?' I ask myself, glancing at my fuel level and seeing it near empty. Sighing, I stop at the nearest gas station and walk into the convenience store, standing in line behind a tall boy with hair darker than coal. I raise my eyebrows as I hear him talking to the cashier in a sexy voice sounding similar to Kenneth Nixon's. While waiting, I open my wallet, getting out a $20 bill. I look up, money in hand, and suddenly the boy turns around, crashing into me and spilling some of his Monster on my jacket.

"Crap, I'm sorry. I should've watched where I was going. Are you okay?" he asks.

I look up into his emerald green eyes and smile. "I'm fine. Its not like you ran me over with a bulldozer," I giggle, " I'm just a little shocked."

He chuckles and looks me in the eyes. "Wow...you're beautiful," he compliments me.

Blushing, I tuck a stray strand of hair behind my ear and look down. "Thanks," I say, blushing.

"So...ahem...what's your name?" he asks.

"I'm Desdemona," I say, glancing back up at him and eyeing his sexy snakebite piercings.

"Well, it's been a pleasure. I'm Elliot by the way. Maybe I'll see you again sometime," he says.

I smile, "Yeah, hopefully!"

Elliot smiles, giving me one last glance before exiting the store and getting into a nice 2013 GT Spyder Lotus. (http://www.gayow.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/New-Car-of-Hennessey-Venom-GT-Spyder-Lotus-Elise-in-2013-as-Sports-Car-500x305.jpg)

I sigh contently and turn around, handing the cashier my money and pumping my gas before leaving to attend school.

I walk into the front office and check myself in, getting a late pass and going to Chemistry. Knocking on the door, I sigh and wait.

Mr. Rodriguez opens the door and lets me in. "Why are you late this time?" He asks, sitting down at his desk.

I shrug, "I guess I just wanted to stay home so I didn't have to go to your class today."

"Just get to work. You and your partner have to work on a timeline about atomic theory."

I sigh, sitting in my assigned seat next to Ash. Putting my stuff down, I turn in my seat to look at Ash. "You didn't even start, did you?" I ask.

He shrugs. "I didn't know what to do."

"Figures..." I mumble, getting out a sheet of paper and writing different scientists and models on it. I opened my book and began reading the chapter.

As I read, Ash scooted his chair closer to mine, 'reading' over my shoulder. "Demon, have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" he whispered, his warm breath tickling my skin.

I turn to look at him and frown. "Why don't you give it up and actually help me! Make yourself useful. Read!" I say, pushing a book towards him.

He shakes his head. "I cannot read. It'll give me a headache."

"Maybe that's why you're practically failing Chemistry," I spat venomously as I try to concentrate on what I was reading.

As I read even further along, Ash slid his arm around my waist and his lips were on my neck, his teeth grazing my neck softly. He grabbed my book and closed it.

I turn to look at him. "Could you stop?!"

He chuckles. "It's fun. And you know that I'm gonna bug you until you give in."

I glare, "Well you're gonna be bugging me forever because I'm not gonna be another notch on your belt."

Ash smirked, "We'll see."

I roll my eyes and begin writing notes on the subject matter, ignoring Ash.

"What's your real name, Demon?" he asks.

I ignore him, continuing writing.

"Okay...then who's your favorite band?" he asks.

I say nothing.

He groans, "Don't play that shit with me. It drives me crazy when girls ignore me like that."

I silently chuckle and continue to take notes.

"Fine...be that way," Ash mumbles, shutting up.

"Is there a problem?" booms Mr. Rodriguez.

"Well, Demon here is ignoring me," Ash says.

I look up at Mr. Rodriguez and frown. "Have you seen him? He hasn't even been working! The only thing he's been working on is the process of giving an unwilling girl a hickey!"

Mr. Rodriguez looks at Ash. "You can't afford to get another 0, Ash. I'd suggest you help her. This is such an easy grade."

Ash groans, "But Mr. Rodriguez..."

"You excel in this class, right?" He asks, turning to me.

"Yeah, I have an A," I say.

"I'm assigning you as Ash's tutor," he says.

"What?! Why?" I glance at Ash and see him smirking like a mad man.

"You're smart enough to explain it to him in simplest words. How about if I give you extra credit?" He offers.

I groan, irritated. "Fine...I suppose so..."

"Thank you. Now Ash, help her work on this assignment," Mr. Rodriguez says, walking away.

Ash grins, looking at me. "So, when's our first session, baby?" He asks.

"If I had it my way, it would never happen, but I guess it could be tonight. I have something to do after school."

"Then what time?"

I contemplate it than say, "5 o'clock. I'll go to your house..." I say. 'I don't want him to know where I live,' I confirm to myself.

"Well, give me your number so I can contact you," he says.

I roll my eyes and write it down on his hand, "There, you happy?"

"Of course. I got what I wanted. You to come to my house and your number. I'm a happy camper."

I groan, thinking, 'Great, this is gonna be interesting...'

~{Spencer's Point of View}~

"So Democritus was the one who originally believed that all things were made out of smaller particles, right?" I ask Chelsea.

Chelsea smiles, "Yes, that's right, Spence."

Suddenly, there's a knock at the door and Mr. Rodriguez answers it. "Yes? Ah, come on in," he says, letting someone in. "Alright class, we have a new student."

Everyone looks at him including me. My eyes register on the new student and immediately I recognize her.

"Her name is Kendra. Welcome her to St. Edwards High."

Everyone says some sort of greeting except three people. Me, because of shock, Demon, for obvious reasons, and Chelsea, for an unknown reason I couldn't imagine.

Kendra makes eye contact with me and waves slowly, smiling sexily.

"There are no other seats so you're gonna have to sit with Jane," Mr. Rodriguez informs.

"Fine with me," Kendra says, plopping down next to Jane and immediately beginning to giggle and chat with her.

I turn to Chelsea, "Ahem, anyways, where were we?"

"Atomic theory..." she mumbles, crossing her arms and avoiding my eyes.

"Um so...what did Mendeleev do?" I ask, trying to make small progress on our project.

"He created the first-known version of the periodic table and predicted the properties of elements yet to be discovered," she deadpanned, writing it down and letting her hair fall to the side of her face as she wrote so that I couldn't see her face.

"Chelsea, what's wrong?" I ask, confused at her sudden hostility.

"Just shut up and leave me alone, Spencer!" she shouts quietly.

I close my mouth and glance at the paper. "I'm sorry, I don't know what I did to piss you off...but I'm sorry." I sigh, glancing at the clock and putting up my stuff to get ready for a class change. I glance at Chelsea out of the corner of my eye and frown at her sour mood.

The bell rings and I sigh, but run to catch up with Kendra. "Hey," I say to her.

She grins and links her arm with mine. "Hey!"

"So...you're here? How?" I ask.

"I got transferred. I wanted to be here with you," she says, giggling.

"Ah...okay. So...what class do you have next?" I ask nervously.

"World History. What about you?" She asks.

"Musical Theory. I usually just play with my band in that class. We don't do much. It's a class to learn about music."

"Sounds fun," she says, "I bet its more fun than World History."

"Well...yeah, pretty much." I awkwardly look away and watch my feet as we walk.

We reach her class and she looks at me. "Goodbye kiss?" She asks.

I blush and wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her to me and kissing her lips. She puts her arms around my waist and kisses me back, adding her tongue.

I groan and pull away. "Um...I will see you later, Kendra. I gotta go to class before I'm late."

She grins and hugs me. "Bye Spence!"

"Bye, Kendra." I hug her back before rushing off to class.

~{Ash's Point of View}~

As Demon did the entire assignment by herself, I sat there thinking about how I would make my move on her at my house.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door and Mr. Rodriguez. There was a new student named Kendra. I gave her a quick sizing up but she wasn't as stunning as Demon was. I turned to look at Demon and grinned. "Almost done with that?" I ask her.

She turned her head and glared at me. And if looks could kill I would be incinerated by her gaze. "Yeah, Ash, no thanks to you!"

I chuckle, "Chemistry is not really my thing."

She rolls her gorgeous turquoise eyes and stares at me, "Then what is your thing?"

I smile provocatively and place a hand on her thigh. "You are. And I know I'm your thing so give in already."

She bursts out laughing and pushes my hand off of her thigh. "As if. Maybe in your dreams." She begins packing up her things as the class neared its end.

I shrug, packing my things up as well and standing up as the bell rings, grabbing Demon's hand.

She yanks it out of my reach like a stingy British prince snatching away his prized toy from an orphan child. "We are NOT together. Stop trying to make it seem like we are," she growls.

"Chill out, geez. I was just going to walk you to class." I follow her out of the class as we begin walking to P.E.

"Why?" she monotones, gripping her black handbag tightly.

"I don't know, I just want to."

She's quiet for a few seconds. "Fine..." I smile and grab her hand tightly. "Ash, I did not say you could hold my hand!" She says, ripping her hand out of mine again and crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yeah, I should've known..." I grumble. We walk into the gymnasium and I step in front of her, placing my arms on her shoulders and leaning down to kiss her forehead. "I have officially claimed you as mine, baby," I whisper as I pull away, glancing around to make sure everyone saw my actions. They seemed like they did, as everybody was watching me with wide eyes, probably wondering why I kissed her. 'Oh well,' I thought to myself, 'now they know.' I walk away from her confidently, feeling satisfied with myself.

~{Chelsea's Point of View}~

After seeing Spencer catch up with Kendra and technically walk her to class, I suddenly felt crushed. 'I guess I shouldn't have been a bitch to Spencer, I mean it's not like it's his fault Kendra showed up, is it?' I linger on the question as I walk to P.E. and sit next to Desdemona, finding no one else to hang out with, and smile. "Hey, we haven't talked in a while." I say in my sweetest voice I can come up with now that my patience was pushed 'sky-high' above limit.

Desdemona smiles. "It was only yesterday that we spoke, but hey, I should be grateful you're willingly speaking to me. What's up?"

"True that. I guess it just seems like it's been a while. Also, I guess part of it is just that I've been angry, crushed, hurt, or...I don't know. I'm glad some people are still happy, though." I cross my hands over my lap. "So after my party, everything's gone downhill, unbelievably fast, too. And the worst part is Kendra suddenly shows up at our school after making out with Spencer for about half an hour at my party. I also saw him walking her to class." I sigh. "I don't even know why I'm so angry."

"You like Spencer, right?" Desdemona asks, a hint of some unknown emotion in her voice.

"I don't think so. I thought I liked Ash, but it turns out my emotions were playing with my mind. I may like him as a friend, but I don't think of him as anything more." I say not really knowing how I felt about Spencer.

"Are you sure you don't think of him as anything more? Because it sounds to me like you may be a wee bit jealous of Kendra."

"Actually, to tell you the truth, I don't know exactly how I feel about him. I just hope that we're just friends so that way I won't get mad if he dates another girl." I say stating the truth on how I feel.

She nods. "Yeah...you're right. Well, don't get worked up about it. I mean, look at the brightside, if they are dating, you will probably be the one he talks about his relationship problems with. So you will know what Spencer likes, doesn't like, or what turns him on."

I laugh. "If Kendra lets that happen. It already seems like she doesn't like me and she's going to try and tear him away from me. For some reason when I first met her, she had to make it a point that her and Spencer made out and apparently he's 'good with his tongue.' Those were her words."

"Eh, she seems like a bitch," Desdemona says, "Cuz we totally need another one of those in our school..."

"Yeah really, but Jane's still gonna be the top bitch in the school," I say spitefully. Then I think about it and say, "Well, I don't know, we don't have enough information on Kendra to know where she stands on the line of bitches."

"Yeah...but I doubt anybody can be as much of a soulless bitch as Jane is." Desdemona rolls her eyes and stares ahead, shock flooding her face.

I furrow my eyebrows and attempt to look the same direction as her. "What are you looking at?" I ask her.

Desdemona turns to me, a red tint to her pale cheeks. "Okay, I barely know you but I'm going to tell you anyways. So this morning, I woke up late, and while driving to school, I noticed my gas level was low. I drove to a gas station and went in. I stood behind a tall, dark-haired guy with a sexy voice. While I was waiting, he turned around and bumped into me. He apologized like a gentleman and said I was beautiful."

I smile. "That was sweet. And he just met you?"

She nods, even more color rising to her cheeks. "Yeah, and that boy right there looks very much like him."

"Well," I start, "go talk to him. I'm sure its the same guy. I mean, I haven't seem him before."

Desdemona seems unsure. "You...you think I should?"

I smile, "Yes, you should."

Desdemona smiles, standing up. "Okay, I will." She walks towards the boy and starts talking to him.

I sigh, looking around for something to do. I find myself watching Ash play basketball with the jocks.

"Um...Chelsea?"

I turn towards the voice and see Brendan Miller standing beside me nervously. "Hi, Brendan!" I say. I pat the floor and he sits next to me. "What's up?"

"I noticed you were sitting by yourself and just decided to come talk to you."

I smile, "Thanks, Brendan."

"My pleasure. So...why'd you stop hanging out with Jane?" he asks innocently.

I shrug, "It's just because she slept with my boyfriend. She kinda betrayed me, y'know?"

Brendan furrows his eyebrows. "Why the hell did he cheat on you? I mean, look at you. You're beautiful."

I blush, looking down. "Thanks, Brendan. Um...you play guitar in Spencer's band right? In Her Eyes?"

Brendan grins, "Yeah, you noticed me?"

"Of course. You sounded really good," I compliment him.

"Thanks," he says, smiling, "so...I have a question for you."

I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear and look at him expectantly. "Yes?"

He looks down, as if trying to gain courage. Then, he returns his gaze to me. "I...I have seen you around school and swooned at your beauty and kindness. So...I was wondering if you'd go on a date with me." He looks into my eyes hopefully.

'Hmm...well he might be the kind of guy that cares about your feelings. I might be able to make Spencer jealous, I hate to use this guy but I don't know him and who knows I may start to like him.' I smile. "Sure Brendon. So, when's our first date?" I say, scooting closer to him and looking into his eyes as I smile, trying to determine if he's the kind who won't cheat.

Brendan grins, "Whenever is fine with you. How about tomorrow night?"

"Yeah, sure. I don't have anything to do."

Brendan beams, "Great, I can't wait."

"Me neither," I say, grabbing his hand and confirming our date.
