Chapter 8. How it's done

Michael.

After Aya's time at the hayvenhurst I promised to show her the family recording studio. I invited Aya  back to the hayvenhurst, she looked outstanding as usual. We walked in the family recording studio, I showed her around the studio and all the recording equipment she was captivated by the equipment.

"Em Michael if you don't mind, would you show me how a song is recorded", she asked.

I turned on the backing track, went inside the recording booth, I put on the headphones and sang human nature. As I sang the song I looked at the corner of my eye and saw Aya give the biggest smile she's ever given, her teeth showed, her teeth were pearl white and perfectly in line, she was bopping her head to the music, she looked so graceful.

When I finished the song Aya clapped while she cheered, she looked so amazed like it was the greatest thing she's ever heard, I blushed, I mean it wasn't that good, she asked if she can record a song.

"Sure no problem, what song do you want to sing", I smiled.

"She's out of my life", she answered.

I escorted her to the recording booth and put the headphones on for her, I came out of the booth and turned on the backing track, she began to sing. When she sang the first line I was blown away, she can sing she can actually sing, her voice was so soft and sweet it had a very high pitch sound but not too high. I was drawn in by her voice I couldn't stop smiling no matter how much I tried, she had a beautiful voice just like her, She's a wonderful artist and now a terrific singer what else is she talented at.

Once she finished the song I just have to give her a standing ovation, she was incredible.

"Wow, when did you learn how to sing like that", I asked.

"Really was I good", she said, while she scratched her head.

"Are you kidding me you were fantastic", I replied, praising her.

It was cute how she didn't realize she could sing, I showed her more of the equipment in the studio.

"So where do the instruments go", she asked.

We walked out of the recording studio and went to the practice room where all the instruments were handled, once we walked in Aya had the same surprised look on her face, as she gazed at the room and all the instruments, she pranced around the room as she slowly slides her fingertips on the instruments, until she stopped at the piano and stared at it.

"Do you play", I asked.

"A little", she replied, gazing at the piano.

She sat on the chair, she sat in front of the piano and began to play, once again I was startled I didn't see it coming Aya could play the piano. I watched her play this beautiful piece I never heard before, the piece was so graceful and pure just like her singing voice, just when I thought she couldn't get any better. When she finished I clapped while walking towards her, I got a chair and sat beside her.

"That was amazing, wow you are so talented", I praised her again.

"You really think so", she said, while scratching her head again.

"Oh yeah", I smiled.

We walked back into the studio and talked for a bit, "Aya you got to tell me how you learned your musical talents", I asked.

"Well em my grandmother thought me the piano when I was a little girl, I used to love watching her play all the time, so I pressured her to teach me how to play and she did", she explained.

I was astounded of course, every story she told me about her life was wondrous, her childhood must have been filled with adventures I wanted to hear more.

"And my singing that's just another thing I was born with, I guess", she added.

We continued talking until Aya said something hilarious, we laughed way too long and way too hard, but we were interrupted by and good friend of mine Quincy Jones.
