Day 31: New Years Eve

After spending the past days wallowing in sadness, Bakugou was finally ready to leave his dorm. Today, he was going to try his best to put on a mask and try to move on. He knew if he ever needed to leave, his classmates would understand. Just knowing all of his friends would be there, he knew he was most likely was going to be okay. It was New Year's Eve, after all, he needed to enjoy it with his friends.

Bakugou yawned softly, opening his eyes. His eyes instantly looked up, the image in front of him bringing a smile to his face. The boy who he loved, was holding him tightly in his arms. Soft breaths left him as he slept peacefully. Bakugou just continued to smile, tons of thoughts flying through his head. As he was thinking, he accidentally said one of them out loud.

"Eijirou...I'm so lucky that you chose me...I love you."

When the words left his mouth, the blonde felt his face heat up. He normally never said anything like that, but he guessed he was just in a sappy mood. But when he was in a sappy mood, there was no stopping him. Bakugou pushed himself up enough just to be able to press a soft kiss to his fiance's lips, smiling into it. That woke the redhead instantly, his face already tinted pink.

"Well, g-good morning to you too Katsuki." Kirishima returned the kiss, making the blonde giggle. Every morning was peaceful and calm, no matter what happened the previous day. Bakugou thanked Kirishima for that as he sat up, snaking his way out of his lover's arms. Pouting, Kirishima looked up at the blonde. At first, the blonde was set on getting up, but after seeing Kirishima's cute little pout, he changed his mind. Flopping back down on the bed, the redhead was quick to scoop the blonde up in his arms.

"It's okay if we relax a little bit this morning. You need it, especially since we'll be at that party tonight. About that...I just wanted to let you know if you're ever in a position where you feel upset or anything bad, come to find me. If it gets bad enough, it's totally okay if we leave. I understand things are hard, and if we need to leave, we will. Don't be ashamed, alright? Everyone will understand." Kirishima muttered into Bakugou's messy hair, his voice taking on a softness the blonde hasn't heard before. Bakugou just nodded, smiling a little. He knew he could leave if something bad happened, but he kept telling himself he needed to move on.

"Yea...I know. I really wanna try and f-fucking move on though...I'll try my best to push through. Just make sure not to l-leave me too long." Bakugou whispered, his face slightly red. A small giggle left the redheads mouth, making the blonde smile.

"Don't worry, I won't leave you Katsuki." Kirishima affirmed. Bakugou smiled, sinking into the redheads embrace a little more. There the pair lay, just enjoying each others presence until they had to get ready for the party later.

The late morning and afternoon passed by quickly, the two boys now finding themselves getting ready side by side. Kirishima was in the process of doing his hair when Bakugou asked a question.

"Should I wear my ring? Are we allowed to tell everyone we're engaged?"

At first, Kirishima really didn't know how to respond. He had completely forgotten about the fact that they had to tell everyone that they are engaged. Like...ACTUALLY engaged.

"If you're comfortable with it. It's all up to you, Katsuki." Kirishima answered, making the blonde smile. Bakugou left the bathroom for a few moments, running over the nightstand and picking up his ring. Face as red as his hair, Kirishima finished doing his hair and joined his fiance.

"You picked out such a nice ring Eijirou," Bakugou muttered as the redhead walked up behind him, snaking his arms around the blonde's waist. Kirishima only nodded, placing a kiss on his lovers ear before letting go of him to put his shoes on. The blonde followed, and the pair was out the door moments later.

Once arriving at the commons, Bakugou and Kirishima smiled. All their friends were gathered in one place. There were refreshments and snacks sitting on a table nearby, clusters of people all over the room. At first, the two had no idea what to do, standing by the stairs, their fingers still interlocked. Then, the party came to them.

"Bakugou!" Kaminari screamed, getting up from his spot on the couch. When the other blonde had called his name, everyone else in the room turned to him. His grip tightened on Kirishima's hand. The redhead smiled knowingly, waving to all the students running towards them. Kaminari ran right up to Bakugou, pulling him into a tight hug.

"I'm sorry," Kaminari whispered quietly, pulling away from the hug. After the blonde had pulled away, all the students slowly shuffled back to the main common area. Kirishima still held on tight to his blonde fiance's hand, leading him to sit down on the couch. As soon as they sat down, the redhead was instantly wrapped into conversation with Mina, Kaminari, and Sero while Bakugou sat there. It looked as if he was listening peacefully when in reality he was thinking. Thinking about what's happened, what's going to come, and the beyond. He signed, staring up at the clock.

"Only 7pm...damn."

Bakugou whispered to himself, sighing. He moved his eyes back down to the party, where he saw a very focused Mina staring directly at his hand. At first, the blonde was confused, moving his eyes to his hand. Then he remembered, he was wearing his ring. In public. In front of all their classmates, who had no idea.

"Uhhh Bakugou...? What's with the ring? I never saw you as the jewelry type of guy." Mina asked, looking at the blonde.

"I uh...don't wanna explain," Bakugou answered, turning away from the other red-faced. Mina cocked her head to the side in confusion, looking at the redhead.

"Kirishima, you explain, I'm sure you know," Mina demanded, giggling. She had no idea of the true meaning behind the ring. No one did, but it was time they let them know.

"What do people normally wear rings for?"

"Did you idiots get married?"

"Uh...in a way."

"ARE YOU ENGAGED!?"

"Bingo."

Once Kaminari had figured it out, everyone started screaming. 'Congratulations' were being thrown around, I can't believe it's and many other common phrases. Everyone was surprisingly shocked. They all discussed it, multiple people bringing up a wedding. It was an amazing conversation, but it soon slipped to other topics. Before they knew it, it was 11:50, and everyone was gathered around the television.

"Okay, who's gonna kiss me at 12 am," Kaminari asked jokingly, watching the clock intently. As time ticked down, Bakugou let the past month flash before his eyes. At the beginning of the month, everything was peaceful. It was just him and Kirishima enjoying the Christmas season, side by side. Then, tragedy struck. He remembered that day, when he broke down in tears on the floor, Kirishima running into the room to comfort him. He felt like everything was lost. Tears wouldn't stop falling from his eyes, he was always sad. Kirishima was trying so hard to make him happy, doing anything and everything to bring the old Bakugou back. For a short period of time, he succeeded. He was happy, and that's when the redhead proposed. Bakugou couldn't stop crying, he was finally happy, he was finally going to marry the one he loved. That night though, he got the news his mother had passed away. It broke the blonde once again, destroying everything that he had. He stayed up in his room, not moving for days. That's when Kirishima told Todoroki, who was finally able to tell Kirishima what he needed to hear. Kirishima finally found the right words to say to his blonde boyfriend turned fiance. It broke them both, but when things break, they can only be fixed. Bakugou began healing, and with the help of a letter from his mom and a book of notes from his classmates, he got the courage. He got the courage to tell himself he was going to move on. Now, there he stood, next to all of his classmates, 20 seconds before midnight. He had come a long way, and there was still way more to go, but he knew he could make it. With the help of his fiance, his classmates, teachers, and those around him. He could do it, but he didn't have to do it alone.

"5...4...3...2..."

"Katsuki...I love you."

"1...HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Bakugou whispered a quick 'I love you too' before Kirishima swung him over, pressing a kiss to his lips. It was long and passionate, making a bubbly feeling rise in the blonde's chest. Bakugou smiled softly into the kiss. He had made it, he was home.

(A/N And that's all I have for now! Yes, this is absolute shit, but I swear I will begin working on a second part soon. I love this story too much to let it go, and everyone here seems to like it, so I'm going to keep writing it! I have no idea what I'm going to do for the next part, but I will get it sorted. I promise I will end this whole series with a happy KiriBaku wedding, one way or another! Thank you for 2.4k reads, I love you all <3)
