Day 29: Depression (Not Really)
After discussing everything, Kirishima felt much better about helping Bakugou. The blonde was still hurting, but he didn't feel like he wasn't helping. He was, the blonde had told him. All he needed to do was be there for him, hug him when he was crying, laugh with him, hold his hand, kiss him, and just love him. Now, the pair was laying in bed, Bakugou's head resting on Kirishima's chest. The taller boy smiled, looking down at his lover. He then got an amazing idea.
"Katsuki...do you wanna dance?" Bakugou turned to look at his redheaded fiance, nodding his head vigorously. Dancing was something that calmed the blonde when nothing else would. Back before finals, Kirishima and Bakugou danced for hours just to calm his nerves. Maybe it would work now.
"Just turn on the d-d-damn radio...I...I just wanna dance." Bakugou said, pushing himself up from the other's chest and onto the floor. Kirishima giggled, pushing himself onto his feet as well. Before he joined the blonde, Kirishima put on the radio. The song that started playing was one neither of the boys knew, but they danced to it anyway. The redhead walked up to the blonde, placing one hand on his waist. Bakugou complied, placing his hand on the taller's shoulder and holding his lovers freehand. As they began swaying slowly, Kirishima began twirling the ring on Bakugou's finger. It was crazy to think that he actually proposed and that the blonde actually said yes. Smiling softly, Kirishima looked down at Bakugou's face. Eyes closed, a peaceful look sat on his face. He was humming softly along to the music as they danced slowly.
"I love you."
Bakugou blurts it out of nowhere, opening his eyes to look up at the redhead. His eyes smiled for him, his lips pressed together into a small smile. Kirishima felt his cheeks heat up, smiling down at the blonde.
"I love you too babe, but where did that come from?"
"I just...thought you should know...anything f-f-fucking wrong with that?"
Kirishima shook his head and smiled. He was trying to be himself again. The pleasantly angry boy he was. Bakugou let his smile fall again though, pushing himself forward to put his head on the redhead's shoulder. This happened almost everytime they danced, and at this point, the taller male was ready for it at any point. Hands now shaking around Bakugou's waist, Kirishima began singing along to the song on the radio. They were finally sharing a moment of peace. After so long of just pain and suffering, they had a moment of happiness, where they could just enjoy each others presence.
"Eijirou...I'm so surprised that I...I'm not fu-cking crying right now...you really helped me...uhhh..." Bakugou's words were slightly shaky and unsure, but he said them. Kirishima smiled. He helped Bakugou.
"I'm glad I'm helping. It's all I want to do when I see you upset. You've really come a long way, and I'm so proud of you. Just know you've become so much stronger, and you'll be back to yourself soon. I'll help you get there. I promise." Kirishima's voice was a low whisper, just loud enough for the blonde to hear. The blonde looked up and smiled.
"I can do it with you here. I...I'm still going to be sad...but I'll fu-cking try to be myself during the day. So...our classmates won't worry. I can always talk to you...thank you for that." Bakugou answered, making Kirishima beam with pride. He was so proud of Bakugou, for being so strong, even when his mother was gone.
As the two were dancing and talking quietly, there was a knock on the door. Kirishima pulled away from Bakugou, apologizing before going to open it. In front of the door stood Todoroki and Midoriya, a small box in the green-haired boy's hand.
"This is for Bakugou...we just wanted to drop by really quick to see you guys," Todoroki said, smiling slightly, the smaller boy at his side nodding. Bakugou gasped, walking over to stand at Kirishima's side.
"Todoroki? Deku? What are you guys doing here?" He asked, a shocked look on his face. Kirishima turned to him and smiled.
"Don't get angry Kacchan, but Kirishima told us what was happening and we wanted to drop by to say...we're so sorry...uhh...please don't be angry with him." Midoriya turned away, embarrassed. Bakugou turned to look at Kirishima, completely shocked. Without saying anything, Midoriya placed the present on the ground and jumped forward, pulling Bakugou into a tight hug. The blonde didn't try to push him away or anything, he just stood there. Todoroki soon joined in on the hug, wrapping his arms tightly around the two boys. Smiling softly, Kirishima joined in as well, hugging the blonde from behind. The hug lasted for a few moments, but when the three boys pulled away, the blonde had tears in his eyes. At first, they were concerned, but then, Bakugou smiled. They were happy tears.
"T-Thank you guys...so much."
