Day 28: Bargaining

Kirishima and Bakugou were in the cafeteria, eating lunch after a particularly speechless morning. Not speaking about his feelings at first was normal for Bakugou, but the redhead was still worried. It had only been three days, he still probably had a lot weighing on his mind. So, he decided to speak up.

"Katsuki, what's bothering you? You've been extremely quiet all morning..." Kirishima kept his voice down, aware of the few other groups of students gathered around near them.

"Do you think if I died in her place...things would be different?" The words left the blonde's mouth before he thought about it, his heart picking up speed.

"Don't you ever say that. Do you know how upset your parents would be? The class...me? I'd be nothing without you here. I'm not saying that...that....crap. Things would be different, but just as many people would be heart broken...maybe even more. You need to think before you say things Katsuki...you scared me." Kirishima answered, panicking internally. Red eyes met red, and Bakugou began crying. In the middle of the cafeteria...no way to hide it. Kirishima began physically panicking, turning to look around at the students near them. No one had noticed yet. Heart beating in his throat, the redhead turned back to the blonde. His head was now resting on the table, his shoulders shaking.

"Katsuki...Katsuki. Come on, we need to get back upstairs...ah crap." Kirishima heard Kaminari and Mina's voice's coming from behind him. They had to get out of there, and quickly. Pride was on the line. Without thinking, Kirishima grabbed Bakugou's hand and began running out of the cafeteria. As the pair passed Kaminari and Mina, all he screamed was "Gotta go training!" without any other context. Once they made it out of the crowded cafeteria, the redhead stopped running. His head snapped around quickly, looking at the blonde, utterly concerned. Hands covering his face, Bakugou muffled a sob.

"Hey hey...it's okay...you're okay now..." Kirishima attempted to comfort the smaller boy as they began walking to their dorm. They were extremely lucky to not pass anyone else in the hallway, arriving at the room without confrontation. Moments after the door was closed, Bakugou threw himself at the redhead, wrapping his arms tightly around his lover.

"I-I'm s-sorry."

The words left the blonde's mouth moments before he began sobbing violently, barely able to hold himself up. Kirishima's heart finally was destroyed. After watching his fiance, the only boy he will ever love, go through so much pain made him break down slowly. Not able to hold himself back anymore, Kirishima let tears form in his eyes, sinking to the floor with the blonde still in his arms.

"Katsuki...I-I...I-I'm sorry..."

Kirishima felt the need to apologize for all the times he couldn't help the blonde, for all the times he couldn't stop his crying. He felt useless. There was nothing he could do to help. Tears slipped out of this eyes, falling slowly down his cheeks. He failed the one he loved.

"E-Eijirou...w-hy a-re y-you crying?"

At first, the redhead couldn't speak, a small sob leaving his lips. He clung to the blonde a little tighter, hoping the affection could drive his tears away. Drive away the feelings of failure, and the feelings of sadness.

"I f-failed you...K-Katsuki...I...f-fuck...th-ere's nothing I c-can do to h-elp...I-I'm sorry..."

At those words, Bakugou burst into another fit of sobs, both boys now crying violently into their lover's arms. Just curled on the floor, hanging onto each other for dear life. Emotions poured from each of their souls as tears rolled down their cheeks. They clung onto each other like there was no tomorrow. Time passed slowly as they cried, loud sobs turning to small sniffles overtime. After they had calmed, Kirishima wiped his eyes, pulling the blonde and himself to stand.

"I...we need to...talk through this Katsuki...I..." Kirishima didn't finish his sentence, the blonde pushing his lips onto his lovers. It was sweet and tender, all of their emotions flowing through it. They put all they could into that kiss, as to tell each other how much they cared, how much they loved the other. As they pulled away, all they wanted was for the kiss to last a little longer. Sadly though, there was something called air. Kirishima frowned, pulling Bakugou to the bed. He pushed himself so his back was against the wall, Bakugou seating himself next to the redhead. With slight hesitation, the blonde reached out and grabbed his fiance's hand.

"Okay...Katsuki...I'm so so sorry for...just not being enough to help you. I love you so much, and seeing you in pain is so hard. I want to do something to help you, and if there is anything, please, please please please tell me...it hurts to see you so sad...I want to...I feel like I've failed you. I'm sorry..." Kirishima let the words roll off his tongue, gripping Bakugou's hand a little tighter in his.

"No...fucking hell Eijirou...you didn't fail me at all...you've helped me so much....you saved me, okay? All that you have to do to help me is stay by my side...that's all I r-really fucking need. D-Don't be sad...I love you..." Bakugou turned to the redhead and forced a smile. Kirishima smiled back, then placing a small kiss on his lover's cheek.

"Katsuki...I love you too...and I'll never leave your side."

"That's all I need."
