Forever
I never imagined this day would come so soon. I'm marrying the man of my dreams; our forever starts today. Holy cow, I'm actually marrying Eric freakin' Carr! If I'm dreaming, so help me... "You look beautiful, Suzy!" one of the band's wardrobe assistants said as she smoothed out my dress. "Thank you, Delilah! I can't believe this day is finally here. Heck, I can't believe it's here at all! This couldn't be happening without you two." I said breathlessly; I couldn't think straight and I didn't care; I was in utter bliss. "Sweetie, please. The boy is dead gone on you! Anyone with half a brain would know that." Christine added with a saucy wink. "You got that right! I think I saw the poor guy accidentally walk straight into a wall trying to get a glimpse of you earlier." Delilah giggled. "Aw, my poor fluffy Fox! Well, his patience will be rewarded soon enough!" I laughed.
Meanwhile, Paul, Gene, and Bruce were helping their dashing drummer get ready himself. "Dude, tone down the cheesin' will ya? You're starting to creep me out." Gene snickered. "Sorry, guys. I literally cannot help it. I'm FINALLY marrying the girl of my stinkin' dreams!" Eric whooped, grinning from ear to ear. "Ok, Little Caesar, take it easy. You should start getting your makeup on if you wanna impress your wife-to-be." Paul said, laughing. "She's gonna totally flip when she sees you, man!" Bruce added. "If anybody's flipping out, it's gonna be me when I finally see her! Thanks for being my best men, you guys. You knuckleheads are the best friends and bandmates a guy could ask for." Eric said, fist-bumping and side-hugging each of the guys in turn. "Eric, you're my best friend, dude! How could I say no to being your best man?" Bruce said, ruffling Eric's hair as he pulled him in for a hug. "Watch the hair!" Eric yelped.
Finally, I was ready. This is it. Whoa...this is it! The opening notes of the wedding march swelled as I stood behind the doors leading down the aisle. "He's all yours. Go get 'im!" Delilah whispered, grinning at me. Suddenly, the doors opened and I began my slow, majestic walk down the aisle. I glanced at Paul, who was escorting me. "Here goes nothing!" I said. "You got this, darlin. Trust me." he whispered back. Before I knew it, I was standing at the altar with Eric.
"You're...you're wearing your makeup!" I gasped quietly. "A fox has to look good for his vixen, especially on his wedding day. You look absolutely gorgeous!" he replied, looking at me with a look of absolute adoration. At last, the officiator spoke. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to witness the bonding of Paul Charles Caravello and Catherine Suzanne Royal in holy matrimony. Do you, Paul, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?" "I do." And do you, Catherine, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband? Do you promise to honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?" "I do." "Then by the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The officiator had barely finished speaking before I practically bent backward with the force of Eric's kiss. I didn't even hear Gene yell "That's our boy!" from somewhere above me; Eric and I were already in another world.
Our reception was like living in a dream; pale orange roses in black vases perfectly accentuated the gauzy orange silk drapes and bunting, like a black-and-orange cloud. Naturally, Antonio's took care of the catering with the ultimate Italian feast: spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, garlic bread, salad, and of course, tiramisu. The cake was a four-layer masterpiece of chocolate cake with salted caramel filling and chocolate buttercream decorated to look like Eric's drumkit, complete with his Chikara symbol. "Aw man, Vix...next stop, epic sugar coma!" Eric said happily, unashamedly licking the frosting off of his fingers. "Don't crash yet, foxy. We haven't had our first dance yet!" I said as Paul stood up and walked to the microphone. "Suzy, you're in for a wild ride with that one. He'll hang on tight for you when things get rough though, that's for sure. He's not going anywhere." Paul said, winking in my direction. "Darn right I'm not going anywhere." Eric growled lovingly as he pulled me in for another kiss.
"This is for you two crazy lovebirds." Paul said. Eric stood up and gently pulled me up beside him, placing his arms around my waist. We spun slowly as Paul started to sing.
I gotta tell you what I'm feeling inside
I could lie to myself, but it's true
There's no denying when I look in your eyes
Girl I'm out of my head over you
And I lived so long believing all love is blind
But everything about you is telling me this time it's forever, this time I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever, until my life is through
Girl, I'll be loving you forever I hear the echo of a promise I made
When you're strong you can stand on your own
Those words grow distant as I look at your face
No, I don't wanna go it alone
And I never thought I'd lay my heart on the line
But everything about you is telling me this time it's forever, this time I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever, until my life is through
Girl I'll be loving you forever
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I see my future when I look in your eyes
It took your love to make my heart come alive
'Cause I lived my life believing all love is blind
But everything about you is telling me this time it's forever, this time I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever, until my life is through
Girl I'll be loving you forever it's forever, this time I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever, until my life is through
Girl I'll be loving you forever
Yeah
"You've made me the happiest woman on Earth, Mr. Carr." I said, resting my head on his shoulder. "Ditto times a million, mia amore. But I ain't no chick!" Eric replied with his famous wicked grin. "You're a mess, Foxy! A fantastic, talented, loving mess. I love you, Eric Carr." "I love you too, Suzy."
