two. and at first i thought it was a lie
"Thanks, man. Take it easy." Ashton called out to the Uber driver since they had to rush inside the club, due to all the birds flocking outside to get to them.
Calum acknowledged a few of them but to be honest, all he wanted was to get inside and have some fun.
Once he stepped inside, a smirk found his lips. This was what LA was, also, all about, the night scene.
As Future's Wicked surrounded the crowded, dimly lit space, Calum couldn't help but grin.
This was the environment that he needed after a long first half of a tour.
One that was filled with bodies swaying with other bodies, music so loud it shook the bar table, and people so tipsy they needed their friends for support.
Ashton grabbed his shoulder and made a noise of excitement then released him.
"Dude, it's lit tonight." Ashton semi yelled due to the loud volume. Calum gave him a look at first, noticing his change of vocabulary but decided to leave it alone and nodded.
"Yeah, man, this is...nice." He replied, eyeing the body of a random caramel skinned woman walking past him.
She bit her bottom lip and he winked, smiling and bringing his attention back to his friend.
"Yeah, anyway, you talk to Roy?" Ashton asked, leading them to the bar, both of them taking a seat at the stools. Calum pulled out his phone as the other ordered drinks.
On the second ring, the boy picked up with a chuckle.
"Where ya at, pimpin'?" Roy asked and instantly Calum started scanning the area.
He furrowed his brows. "M'at the stool with Ashton. Where are you?"
"I'm in VIP with Luke and," he paused. "A few others."
Calum could hear in his voice that 'a few others' most likely included Luke's girl, Arzaylea.
He knew because the change in tone was common in his circle when talking about the girl.
He rolled his eyes when he caught sight of the small lounge on the second floor, finding Luke with his arm around her. But a giggle escaped his mouth when he found Roy waving obnoxiously.
"Have you been drinking, mate?" Calum stood, nudging Ashton and nodding up at the section. Roy hummed then chuckled.
"Boy, bye and if I have?" Roy said, changing his tone of voice, one resembling Shanaynay from Martin, a show Calum has watched many re-runs of. He burst into laughter, confusing Ashton as they headed up the steps to the second floor.
When he reached the last step going up he hung the phone up and opened his arms for his good friend.
"That was weird don't ever do that again." Calum said into the hug, making Roy laugh. He pulled away then dramatically rolled his eyes, holding a hand up to his face.
"Whateva, boo. You ain't nobody daddy." Roy replied, once again altering his voice. This time almost everyone around them let off a giggle. As he moved on to Ashton to greet him, he gave him a weird look.
"Dude--because you're a dude, stop. Please." Ashton chuckled but everyone can tell he was being serious. Roy rolled his eyes and grabbed his drink, walking over to the horseshoe shaped sofa.
"Y'all are no fun." He sat, watching Calum greet everyone else, Ashton behind him, then gesturing the boy over to sit next to him.
"I gotta talk to you real quick, man." Roy started, grabbing a cup then pouring in some clear liquid for his friend.
Calum knew he probably shouldn't mix dark alcohol with clear but he didn't want to be rude after someone poured it for him.
So, he took the cup and took a sip of the Ciroc.
"What's going on, mate? No more 'heard it through the grapevine's', please." Calum rolled his eyes, setting his drink down after another swig.
Roy mimicked his action and sighed. "Yeah, I know. That's why I wanted to talk to you. My bad for mentioning the whole 'Trina' thing." Roy explained, putting up quotes when he said her name.
And from the mention of her name, a small pang of something started to surface in his stomach.
So to avoid whatever it was, he retrieved his cup and took bigger gulps of his drink. The burn taking over his inside and blocking whatever the feeling was...for the moment.
He snorted and smirked. "Nah, no need to apologize. You know how LA can be," he shook his head, truly believing the words next to leave his mouth. "Everyone loves a good rumor and no one can keep their mouth shut."
Roy put his hand up like Calum just finished preaching.
"Ain't that the truth?" The boy asked rhetorically, chuckling as he took a sip out of his red cup.
Calum sat back for a moment, already feeling a buzz from the two drinks, bobbing his head to the Bryson Tiller tune booming through the speakers.
Roy smacked his leg which disrupted his vibing session, causing him to sit up and knot his brows.
"Dude, wh--"
"Fine honeys coming this way." Roy interrupted, eyes not leaving the two women heading to their section. Calum instantly found interest in the golden skinned gal he caught eyes on earlier.
That cocky smirk formed on his lips, locking his pair of brown's with her honey colored one's.
"Ladies, welcome." Ashton greeted, smiling at the two women passing by him, his eyes falling on the tan skinned girl's figure.
Before he could open his mouth and try to mack, Calum beckoned the girl over with a finger.
She bit her lip, fighting back a grin as she strolled over to the boy.
Calum examined the glistening girl approaching him. She wore a skin tight maroon dress that tied in the front, gold heels to match her gold hoops, not to mention her sun kissed skin, and plum colored lips.
This wasn't like any other girl he's met.
This wasn't a girl at all..this was a woman.
She finally made it over to him, her pearly white teeth on display. He could melt under the stare of this woman.
"Is there a reason I've been summoned?" Her velvety voice asked sweetly.
"I couldn't let anyone else try and get your attention so why not call you over so I can have all of it." Calum quickly replied, smoother than butter itself. The Jane Doe playfully rolled her eyes but the boy could see her cheeks turning red.
"By the color of your cheeks I'm guessing that's possible, yeah?" He asked, sitting up and raising his brows at the girl. She playfully rolled her eyes, causing the boy to chortle.
"Have a seat, pretty girl whose name I don't know."
"Dinah. Dinah Jane." She sat next to him, legs crossed, a knee touching his leg. He smiled and nodded, leaning in so she could hear him better.
"Calum. Calum Ho--"
"I know who you are." Dinah caused a pause in his sentence, a smile on her face as she tilted her head.
Calum's ego shot through the roof and that caused his grin to widen even more.
He licked his lips. "Oh really? Who am I, babe?"
Dinah raised a brow, not backing down from the boy's skyrocketing ego.
She waved her hair from her shoulder and locked eyes with him.
"You're the boy who plays the bass for that teenie bop band." She answered and Calum couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his mouth. Wow, this woman was everything.
She had looks and sass, something...something he's had before but he wasn't going to continue thinking about someone he no longer dealt with.
So he shrugged, taking a sip of the strong drink before looking at the girl. He scooted closer.
"Now, you've got the teenie bop part right," Calum leaned in closer, resting his hand on her knee and finishing his sentence in her ear. "But I'm all man here, baby." He gripped her knee, gaining a gasp from the girl.
He pulled back but she grabbed his bomber jacket to keep him close. This time she moved to his ear.
"Show me." The two words seeped through his ear canal and spread like wildfire, bringing a bolt of lightening through his body.
Calum moved the hand that wasn't occupied up to cup her face, leaning further into the girl.
But right when he had his lips centimeters away from Dinah's, he felt a hand smacking his leg, again.
He pulled back, groaning and swatting Roy's hand.
"What?" Calum snapped, ready to tell his friend off. But he furrowed his brows in confusion when he caught his expression.
"Dude, what?!"
"Remember when you said that Trina wouldn't find somebody else or whatever?" Roy asked, eyes away from the girl on his lap and on something on the level below.
Calum rolled his eyes, not wanting to entertain this conversation again.
"Roy, I'm not about to discuss this again, bro."
"Yeah, there's no need to discuss anything when the answer is right down there." Roy said, glancing over at Calum then back to whatever was on the first level.
The brown boy's brows met together as he pulled away completely from Dinah and scooted over to where Roy sat.
Only to find what Roy was staring at...a very hot Trina with her arms around someone that's not him.
