Protected her mother, as well as could be.

Supported her so that she was fancy-free.

Devoted his time to her and the family.

Her dad set an example.

Their home was always ample.

Shelter, food and clothing, as much as could be,

Constantly provided so unselfishly.

Generously spent on his precious family.

Her dad died very early.

'Twas really a tragedy.

Left mum a young widow and fatherless three.

Wounds have never healed since nineteen sixty-three.

Memories of their dad are vivid still you see.
