Chapter 1: Letter - Tenma Matsukaze
Luna: Well, hello there minna-san! This is Luna, Celestia's counterpart speaking to you!
Celestia: Shut up.
Luna: *Ignores her* By the way, this is my first time (to be exact) to write fanfics involving about Inazuma Eleven. So if you see any typographical errors, I would appreciate it if you tell me right away and I will fix it ASAP. Thank you!
Celestia: Idiot...
Luna: Mean~ Anyways, characters might act OOC and this fanfic is full of randomness and craziness. You have been warned.
Kirino: Aren't you going to warn Tenma about this-?
Tenma: *pops out of nowhere* What about me, Kirino-senpai?
Tsurugi: *deadpanning* You're gonna get laid, that's what.
Tenma: *blinks then pales* E-ehh?!
Luna: Tsurugi! *looks at Tenma* Not true! Don't listen to him!
Tsurugi: *rolls his eyes* Don't believe me? Here. *throws Luna's iPad mini*
Luna: Hey!
Tenma: *turns the gadget on and gulps* I... *looks at Luna then runs away*
Luna: Tenma! *glares at Tsurugi* Tsurugi!
Tsurugi: *smirking* Not my fault.
Shindou: Um... Don't mind them. But other than that, enjoy!

..~*~..
Watching the team playing soccer kind of made me a little bit at ease. Well, it's not like I hate soccer and such and neither do I dislike it. It's just that I'm not that interested - well, a little bit that is. But you get the idea.
Right now, I was seated with the three managers on the benches and as usual; Aoi is preparing the canteens and the towels for the team, Midori cheering and complimenting the team with her unending loud voice and as for Akane... I took a glance at her and kind of sweat-dropped. Yep, you already get the idea. She's capturing her 'Shin-sama' a picture and was like flowers and rainbows. Not that I mind.
Averting my gaze at Akane, I watched the team and would sometimes cheer for Tsurugi or shout insults at him. I-it's not like I have a crush on him or something! Who would ever love or like a frigid guy like him?! He's sadistic, blunt and downright annoying with that darn smirk of his and sending it on me while he's playing - wait, what the freaking-? Did he just...?
"What in the... Oi, you annoying bastard-of-an-excuse-of-a-seed! Why the hell are you not playing properly?!" I yelled at him, annoyed and yet, he still smirks even though I already scolded him.
"Huh, me (f/n)?" He snickered, making my eye twitch.
"No, Santa." I responded back sardonically. Kariya's lips twitched a bit in amusement as Tsurugi smirked even more. "And will you stop smirking? It's annoying, really!"
"Why?" He asks even more, and the game freezes when Tsurugi sauntered towards me. The team even stopped what they're doing to watch the scene unfold in front of them.
"So that you won't look like a creepy pedophile waiting for the right time to assault young girls in the middle of the night." I answered him bluntly, not caring if the team sees him embarrassed. Well... HE ISN'T! That goddarn piece of a seed!
"I see. Well, do you want to be the first?" He told me and smirked when my face flushed red at his statement. "Oh look, (f/n)-chan is blushing." He cooed. "How cute." That... Bastard!
"You... You... You BAKA!" I shrieked, and shot out of my seat to pounce on him. He laughs and did nothing when I repeatedly threw my fists on his well-built body, still blushing madly. Why is this guy not hurting?! "You.. PERVERT! YOU LITTLE SON OF A-!!"
"Hahahaha! Oh my.. That was.. HAHAHAHA!!! Hilarious!" I heard Kariya laughing and I shoot him a glare. He dropped himself on the ground and rolled over at the soft green carpet below him, not caring the world. "H-he g-g-got you there (f/n)-chan! The table h-ha-has t-urned!" He choked out, still laughing. Still watching him with a glare, I realized that the team are also laughing at the little session me and Tsurugi showed.
"Why are you all laughing?! It's not even funny!" I screamed at them - well more like whined. They laughed even more and I pouted. "Fine! Be that way!" I crossed my arms and averted my gaze from them, finally cooling down.
"Hahahaha! Sorry (f/n)-chan!" At that voice, my eyes widened and once again, a blush crept through my cheeks - but this time, flustered.
"T-T-Tenma-kun!" I staggered through my sentence, raising my head to look at the adorable captain. Yep, I admit. I like Tenma Matsukaze. With that brown hair styled in weird swirls and metallic onyx cheery eyes, and a smile filled with life - he's just that... My face burned even more and I knew I was blushing way too hard right now.
"(F/n)-chan? Are you okay?" Tenma ceased his laughter when he saw my face. I almost squealed when his once amused expression faltered to replace a worried one, and my heart gave a huge skip when he walked towards me. I blushed at the close proximities of our bodies and I could've sworn I saw Tsurugi backing in the corner of my eyes, giving us some space having that annoying smirk plastered on his face. Yes, that guy knows I like Tenma and he's taking this as an opportunity to tease me more. If only I wasn't in this situation, I would have taken the chance to give him a piece of my mind.
Feeling a cool hand on my forehead, I almost jumped back in surprise. Looking up at Tenma since he's an inch taller than me, I blushed profusely when I realized he has his hand laid on my forehead. I squeaked. "T-Tenma-kun?"
"You're flushing but you're not burning." He muttered - almost to himself and he removed his hand at me. The moment he did, I released the breath inside me that I never knew I held in. Taking a peek at Tsurugi, I gave him an 'I'm-talking-to-you-later' look before going back to Tenma.
"A-ano... I'm fine Tenma-kun. No need to worry." I reassured him in a low tone, my heart banging loudly inside my ribcage as if it wanted to be let out. Tenma looked unconvinced.
"Are you sure, (f/n)-chan? I-I mean... Well, I don't want anything bad to happen to you. You're important to... us after all..." His voice sounded hesitant at the last sentence but I shrugged it off.
"No worries! I can handle my own!" I chirped, grinning. "Now, go there and practice! Though I'll take Tsurugi for a minute or three since he made a ruse out of me." I mumbled, my eyes narrowing at the single thought of that Baka. When I looked at Tenma again, I was surprised when his face morphed into something I cannot decipher. Worried that I upset him, I stammered. "W-well, if you don't want to then that's fine! I'll talk to him later after you-"
"Wh-what? No no. It's fine!" He laughed, shaking his head. "I don't mind actually! Besides, Tsurugi is your childhood friend after all!"
Yes, that good-for-a-nothing is my childhood friend. Does it ring a bell?
I smiled at him. That's the Tenma I know and love.
"Well, jaa! I'll be going now, (f/n)-chan!" He chirped before going back to the field where the others already continued doing their practice without their captain and their ace striker.
Speaking of ace striker... I looked at Tsurugi, my eyes twitching.
Smirking, he said. "You're welcome."
..~*~..
"Bye minna-san!" Waving at the other team members, me and Tsurugi took off at the road leading to our streets since we lived at each other a few blocks away. It was already half-past 5 and the sky above stretches a very deep carnation and indigo with glistening stars decorated on it, signaling the fall of daylight.
Holding on the straps of my backpack with both hands, I took a peek at Tsurugi. And as usual, he has his hands shoved inside his pockets, keeping his collected nature. Though his face is dazing upwards the sky with a very deep pondering lineament. Probably thinking about his nii-san, I guess. Wait, that provoke a question.
"Kyou-kun," Calling by his nickname, he averts his gaze at me. My hands tightened on the straps and directly asked him. "How... How is Yuu-san?"
Immediately realizing who I'm talking about, he smiled. Warmly. "He's doing fine. Just having a few tests and the lots that I can't even even remember," I giggled at his sentence and he continued. "But other than that, he's going under operations next week." He said, his mood lightening. My eyes lit up.
"So does this mean...?" I hang the sentence to let him continue. He nodded, happy.
"Yeah, he can walk again."
"Oh my gosh!" I jumped and hugged Tsurugi so tightly. Even though how much this guy is annoying, I'm still happy for him and Yuu-san. He chuckled and hugged me back slightly and I released him. I raised my fist up high. "I'm so happy I can kiss someone right now!" I clamped my mouth shut. Oops, there goes my error.
Tsurugi smirked, "Kiss you say?" He chuckled and I gave him a flustered glare. Shaking his head, he inserted his hands again inside his pockets. "How embarrassing, (n/n)."
"Sh-shut up!" I stammered back, still flustered. He chuckled again - then he blinked as if he dawned over something. He took his sports bag and opened it.
"Now I've mentioned it," I watched him with curious eyes as he rummaged some things before plucking out something. A piece of paper. He handed it to me. "Here." I looked at it then at him, quite confused. He rolled his eyes. "It's a letter if you're wondering."
I glared at him. "I know it's a letter, Baka."
He rolled his eyes again. "You don't even know it."
I glared at him more, "I so do."
"You don't." He retorted.
"Oh yeah? Prove it then." Crossing my arms, I narrowed my eyes at him.
He deadpanned, "because I just said so." Of course he would say that.
"Argh! Why do I even bother?!" I shrilled, throwing my hands up in exasperation. Rubbing my temples with my fingers, I groaned. Why am I friends with him again?
"Are you just gonna stand there or do I need to shove this letter on your face?" He said, annoyed. There goes his true nature.
"Whatever, just hand me the letter." I ordered and he handed the letter to me. Before opening the folded paper, I asked him, skeptical. "Is this for me? Because I swear to gods if it doesn't, I'm so gonna sue you Tsurugi."
He looked at me, irritated. "Do I look like I'm joking?"
I glared at him. "There was that one time when we are both 8 years old, you tricked me by sending me a travestying letter of admission of a school I wanted to study before."
His look did not change. "We're young at that time, and it's not my fault that you're so gullible enough to believe me." I was about to retort when he snapped at me suddenly. "Just shut up and read the damn letter."
I rolled my eyes and childishly sticked my tongue at him. He rolled his eyes in return and proceeded to walk away. I followed and walked silently beside him, before unfolding the letter. As I unfolded it, I asked Tsurugi one last time. "Did you read this?"
"No." Was his calm reply.
"I see.." Mumbling, I began to read the letter. Hm... The calligraphy of this person is not so bad. It's quite handy-dandy and the way there are many erasures here and there; this person seems to be hesitating on what to write, but that's it. Nothing of importance. There are things like - 'We've been friends...' Or 'you've been there for me...' And - wait... Why is there... Li-like..?
Flushing beet red, I gulped. Is this - is this-? IS THIS A CONFESSION LETTER?!
"TSURUGI!" I yelled, catching the reserved guy off-guard. I slowly faced him, blushing furiously.
"What in heaven's name (f/n)?!" He said, almost snapping in irritation, but I couldn't care less! Who the hell gave this letter to him anyways?!
"Who - who-?" Swallowing the lump in my throat, my blush intensified. "WHO GAVE THIS LETTER TO YOU?!"
He looked irritated. But instead of answering, he questioned me. "Did you read the whole letter?"
"DON'T QUESTION A QUESTION I QUESTIONED TO YOU! [1]" I shrieked. "TELL ME, WHO GAVE THIS?!"
"Why don't you read it?" He snapped at me, growing more exasperated.
"Well, I'M NOT READING IT!" I said.
"Then you leave your question with no answer." He bluntly stated and took a step forward. I groaned.
"TSURUGI!" I yelled at him, trailing after him.
"Read it." He ordered over his shoulders. "Or you'll regret it, if you don't."
My brows furrowed, finally walking beside him. "What? What do you-?"
"I'm not saying. Just read the whole letter."
I pouted but then sighed defeatedly. Well, there's no point if I argued with him anyways. He's just that mysterious. I sighed again. The pain of being the curious one.
Heaving a deep breath, I continued reading the letter in my hands. Woah, I just realized it now. This person really likes to write very long, doesn't he? Still reading, my heart hammered through my ribcage when I read some of this person's words: I'm cheerful? Well, that's true. Even Tsurugi admitted it. In a teasing way, that is. Beautiful? I snort. Really now? Tsurugi doesn't even compliments me. Wait, why am I basing this to that Baka? I shook my head. I'm spouting nonsense again. Continuing, I gasped. I'm brilliant? Oh my gosh, really? I giggled, earning a queer questioning glance from Tsurugi.
"Weirdo." He muttered.
"Bully." I sticked my tongue at him. He rolled his eyes and continued moving forward.
Okay, so where was I when I was rudely interrupted by that bully over there? Oh yeah! And there's this line - wait, hold up. Did he..?
My eyes widened when I read that certain sentence.
'I think... I've fallen in love with you... (F/n)-chan..'
Hands trembling, I read the next paragraph. And that's where I almost slapped Tsurugi with such happiness and giddiness.
From,
'Tenma Matsukaze'
Actually, I slapped him. Really. Hard.
"Ow! What the-?!" I slapped him again, biting my lips to refrain myself from screaming too hard. Just as I was about to slap him again, he caught my wrists before I have the chance to slap him again. He looked at me, infuriated. "What is wrong with you?!"
"Tsurugi... Tsurugi..." I hang my head low, trembling with happiness. I couldn't keep it. I couldn't... Must..control myself...
But at the end, my body betrayed me.
"TSURUGI!" I leapt at him, catching him off-guard thus loosening his hold on me. I hugged him, so tight that I'm sure I'm making him as a stuffed bear.
"What? What is going on-?"
"I'M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW, THAT IS GOING ON!" I beamed, unable to remove the big smile on my face. "I'm so talking to him tomorrow and I'll hug him and kiss him and-!"
"Woah, woah. Hold your horses." He removed my arms from his torso and stared at me, as if I grew another head. Indeed, I am! "Just, what the hell? Are you out of your mind? Kiss him? Hug him? Like, what? In public?"
I giggled at his reaction. If only he is in my situation. I patted his shoulders and earnestly said. "Tsurugi, my friend. Love makes you do the craziest thing without even knowing it."
He looked at me for a second. I blinked, still having that smile plastered on my face. He still looked at me, without saying anything. A wind pass by us and yet, we stood in front of each other, not saying anything. Then for an agonizingly minute later, he bluntly said.
"You sound like an old lady saying unreasonable words."
And my smile wiped off.
"TSURUGI! You ruined the moment!"
The End.
