Chapter Three
I get home and plop down on my couch. I set my phone down beside me and then grab my laptop and open it up. A wallpaper of one of my favorite male K-Pop groups stares back at me, after I type in my password to unlock the device.
The Boyz.
I pull up Chrome, which has my Google Docs up and ready for me. I open a new document and type out a quick title at the top for it:
"Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid."
That's what I have decided to call this work. I then quickly scribble down some notes from my head. A summary for this new story, characters, the genre, an outline and other little important things I will need before I get started writing it.
Suddenly, my phone lights up with an incoming call. "Drink It" by The Boyz blares around the quiet room. It's my set ringtone.
I glance down at my small device. I don't recognize the number calling. I pick it up, eyeing it with puzzlement.
It's a private number.
Normally, this wouldn't strike me as odd, but the strange thing is that I've got all spam calls blocked on my cell. So how is a private number like this, potentially spam even, calling me?
I answer it, curiosity peaking inside of me. "Hello?"
There's a bizarre click sound on the other end.
I hold the phone out in front of me, making sure that I am still connected. I'm bringing it back to my ear, when I hear someone scream in the background. The scream is masculine and sounds full of distress.
"Help me!" a voice cries out next.
Before I can register anything, a heavy breathing follows and then a deep voice says, "I've got someone named Ju Haknyeon here, but, I hate to say that he's a little, well, tied up at the moment. You have 48 hours to play the game and find him. Otherwise...I told you I knew your cute little secret."
